Everything is consistently good. I eat here about once a week. I always try to get something new, so I have had most everything on the menu. I can't find one negative thing to say about it. I usually get it delivered, so I don't know about the staff, but it has never been incorrect, nor have they ever forgotten anything.

Brittany the manager is less than helpful. Ordered to go Chicken Salad. after getting back home discovered there was no chicken and the order was incorrect. I called back and she asked what she should do. She didn't offer to replace the salad. To redo the salad. She just seemed helpless.

We have been back several times since my last review. Very consistent on food quality and service. I really love their pizza and spanakopita but we have had numerous items on their menu and have not been disappointed. Still no beer list but the last couple of times the waitress actually knew what they had.

Visiting in TN and friends took us to this little spot. Very cute and relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. We started with the hummus and Greek fries. The fries were great, I loves the taziki sauce! For dinner I got the shrimp and grits and it was delicious! Lots of shrimp with fresh tomatoes and capers. The grits were done polenta style and were great with the edges just a little crisp! It was very tasty and not too heavy for a more southern style dish. My bf had the gyro and said it was very typical of gyros and ok.

We had a great variety of salads, appetizers & entrees. Each course brought fresh combinations that reminded me of dishes served at much more exclusive (expensive) restaurants. This will become our new favorite place.

I have been to this restaurant 3 times. The food never disappoints. The pizza crust is always crisp and the ingredients are always fresh. One less star due to the waiter not even asking if we want dessert or coffee or tea. He just gave us the check. He had to redo it because we did order dessert. Good service goes a long way.

Saturday night, 9:40pm. Although the restaurant closes at 11pm on Saturdays, according to the website and signs on the doors, we're sent away because they are closed. Ouch! If you intend to shut down before 10pm, please don't advertise that you're open until 11pm!

Peros is a unique dining experience that includes Greek and Italian dishes that are really tasty. We've been going there every few weeks since our first visit and haven't had anything less that a 5 star meal. Try the Greek lasagna, it rocks!

Pero's has an extensive menu based upon Sammy's (the owner) Greek heritage. His mother is first generation and comes in to make Spanikopita, etc. by hand. Sammy makes a wicked good pizza. If he's in try the Stinky Greek! If Steve is cooking ask for some wings with his signature hot sauce. Steve makes the most amazing wing sauce you will ever have. It's super spicy with tons of flavor. He puts a great deal of time and pride into making it. It's not just hot that will burn your tongue. It has deep complex flavors that continue to build as you eat. The sweat will rise on your brow and you will begin to see voices!! That's what spicy is all about ... heat, flavor, sweat and cleansing the soul! As for servers, Briteny & Robbie are great! Once you've been there a few times, they will know exactly what you want. Hell, they're all great! Pero's is a fantastic locally owned neighborhood gem. Enjoy

1st time visit. Started with iced tea with a lemon & glass of wine. Lemon must have been cut yesterday. Lipstick on the wine glass. Shrimp & grits good. Spanokapita was good but bland. Chicken pita was ok but not much flavor. Orzo salad good. Descent restaurant but nothing special at all. Pretty boring flavor. We'll try it again & order pizza.

This is a really good restaurant as close to the original Peros as it gets . Enjoyed the Greek salad, spaghetti , $ pizza . Brings back memories of Pero's in the 70's etc

I'm surprised that this place is so highly recommended. First off, I'd like to address the dining atmosphere. It's a big open area with very cheap smallish tables scattered about. There is no ceiling, but rather an exposed tangle of industrial wires, pipes, and insulation just hanging there over your head. The night we were there, there were very bright lights dangling from electrical cords from where the ceiling should have been. Several patrons asked to have particular lights turned off as they were shining directly into their eyes. A server stood in a chair trying to unscrew the bulb and told the patron "I hope this fixes it, because I'm starting to get pissed off over having to fix everybody's light." Next, the food. We ordered hummus as an appetizer, I had a steak sandwich and the spouse had a Greek lasagne dish. I couldn't eat mine. The meat had a very 'off' smell and was fatty/gristly and just tasted bad. The husbands lasagne was ok in the top layer, but the bottom layers had a burnt flavor. It just wasn't very good. The hummus tasted exactly like mediocre commercial hummus from the grocery store. I just can't recommend this place. I feel that if the owner truly cared, they would install a ceiling and proper lighting. Everybody has an off night, so I may give them a 2nd try, based on all of the positive reviews. If so, I will update my review.

The words "poor customer service" get thrown around a lot these days. This steaming pile of restaurant, however, has plumbed new depths in atrociousness. You know you are in a poorly run restaurant when you see the manager drinking at the bar while your waitress pursues another patron across the room and out into the parking lot to yell at said patron. All this and the manager is willfully blind and does nothing. Food was just okay as well, nothing special. If you have ever needed a baseline measure of awful service by all means go to Peros. Otherwise give this poorly heated and badly run joint a pass.

Good pizza and atmosphere. Sat on the patio. Service was mediocre but the patio was very full. Not really a bar atmosphere like Tom and Barrys and the Doghouse used to be. Turned the back room into a dining area. Ordered house sausage, sundries tomatoes, spinach and mushrooms on my pizza. Mushrooms are canned, which I hate. Pizza crust was good though. Will likely go again. They gave Gyros on their menu. Will try those next time.

WTFM?! (Where's the effin' manager?!) From the moment we walked in we were doomed. There are TVs on all the walls. It wasn't a "sports" night and two of the TVs had TV shows & commercials playing--a HUGE distraction! 1. Sat at a pub style table in their "back" dining room, which is actually right as you enter their "front" entrance. Yeah it's confusing. Pulling into the lot you'd think the front entrance was at the front. You CAN enter that way. But the hostess stand is in the BACK. I knew that ahead of time from previous Yelpers so we followed Yelp advice. :) 2. Ordered seltzer water. A/C vent above was dripping with condensation and proceeded to drip right into the seltzer water. Quickly replaced. 3. Moved tables. An old bread roll, having fallen on the floor from a previous diner, remained there the entire time. 4. Greeted by a waitress, who ended up being 1 of the only 3 good parts of our experience. Her service was excellent. Her compassion for Pero's mistakes was appreciated. But the level of her voice, apologizing over and over for this and that, was simply too loud. As a manager or owner I would have cringed. The thought of having several other tables hear one of my waitstaff repeatedly saying to another table, "I'm so sorry" or "This time the pork will be cooked," would make me cry. Those statements should be reserved for the waitress and the table you're apologizing too. Shhhhhhhhhhh.....keep your voice down or you're going to make others worry. The FOOD We ordered: 1. Spanikopita - 5 stars. Honestly this was delicious. The filo tastes fresh and buttery and crispy. Stuffed with plenty of spinach and Greek cheeses. I'd order this again, but only to-go. 2. Pasticcio: 4 stars. Very good. Although about 1/3 of the bottom pasta layer was a bit too mushy, it was still tasty. Definite cinnamon/nutmeg flavor couldn't be avoided. 3. Pork Souvlaki. 3 stars. Tasty yes. Undercooked yes. Fatty piece yes. They actually remade this order for us entirely AND kindly removed it from the check. It's still sitting in my fridge since we were full by the time we got the replacement. 4. Side of Onion Rings: Negative Stars. I heard they were awesome. They ended up being awesomely bad. The breading had ABSOLUTELY NO TASTE whatsoever. The onion didn't even have a sweet, onion flavor. We brought the leftovers home, since I hate to waste food, and I'll doctor them up with some of my own spices. 5. Chocolate Cake: 1 star. It was more like chocolate cake batter. With a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Did you forget to cook the cake, Peros? THE ICING ON THE CAKE: The loud, obnoxious, walking stupidly on purpose through the dining room, swinging a bar rag on top of his head, bus boy. I would fire someone like that. I KNOW there was no manager or owner there because they simply would have NEVER let this take place. Or if the manager was there, he was MIA the entire time. I'd fire the manager, too. But I doubt there is one. Peros- you need a lot of help before you can earn our business back. **Shout out to Half off Depot for getting us the meal for 1/2 price!

We were a bit nervous about trying this place out because of the eclectic menu; they serve pizza, pasta, gyros, tzatiki sauce, sandwiches, and burgers. They had a decent wine and beer list as well. We ordered the tzatziki sauce (with toasted pita bread) as an app- and it was the best I've had. The cucumber wasn't overwhelming nor was the plain yogurt flavor, which I can't stand, and combined with piping hot pita bread we (my wife and I) had no trouble finishing it off. I ordered a pineapple and ham pizza and she ordered a pizza with spinach, pepperoni, and feta cheese (both white pizzas- they offer red sauce, white, or pesto options. Another side note: they make the dough from scratch). Mine wasn't bad at all, and I was surprised how fresh the pineapple tasted, but it needed some kind of kick, either more garlic, more sauce, or some oregano. Hers, on the other hand, was damn near perfect. I can't think of a legit complaint. We were eyeing other dishes as customers around us received their food and each one looked delicious. The cheese seems to be real, fresh mozzarella and though it may be a bit oily, the taste is totally worth it. Our server wasn't bad, but not great. Everyone has to start somewhere and is entitled to a bad day or two, so I can't hold it against her, but everyone else seemed very amicable. Like a previous poster stated, the parking is weird; park behind the building because the back door is where the hostess is.

I'm docking one star for the craptastic parking lot and the confusion of finding out which damn door is which. Hey, I remember when this parking lot looked down into a little fenced in plot with a couple donkeys in it. YEAH I'M THAT OLD. Ok, onto the good points. And there are plenty. I found the service to be great. Really, really great. Our server knew his menu, was not pushy with his suggestions, and was honest about what he liked and didn't so much like. The beer prices were good. I was pleased to see a good mix of normal shit (Bud, etc) and a few I hadn't seen (in this case, Lazy Magnolia Pecan). Here's the thing about the prices overall. They're good, Deceptively so. My dad, for example, ate the veal parm. At around 9 dollars I would expect ground veal or a piddly little cutlet and maybe a few noodles of pasta. Negative. It was a good portion size of both, and it was, as he said, excellent. I had the gyro. It was great. The waiter asked if I wanted more sauce in it since it was a bit scarce. If you like more tzetiki (yes I effed up the spelling...) in a gyro just say and you'll get more. Personally, I did not, so I appreciated that they erred on the side of dryer gyros. The pizza looked and smelled good, but none of us ordered any. The one downside to their big, bad ass pizza oven is that it's pretty toasty inside the dining room! Overall, for three of us to have entrees and TWO appetizers (the onion rings, incidentally, are the best I've ever eaten) and FOUR beers, our check was 57 dollars before tip. That, my friends, is a damn good bargain. You'd spend more at Olive Garden and get crap to eat.

Finally...a restaurant in Knoxville that serves pasticcio! I have heard a few people mention Pero's and I was pleasantly surprised with this place. It is rumored that this restaurant is associated with the Peraulas family of Louis and Pizza Palace fame. The party I was with sampled as much as possible. The gyros, pizza and ravioli all had great reviews in addition to the pasticcio. The bechamel and tzatziki sauce were very good. It was definitely the best Ive had in east Tennessee. They have an open kitchen with a chef's bar. The bar has a respectable selection of wines and beer. The prices are very reasonable and it was less expensive than I thought it would be. Treat yourself and pay a visit as soon as possible. You won't be sorry. Just be sure to enter through the rear. The hostess table for seating is in the rear of the restaurant.

I ordered to go food from Pero's on a stay-in night. I lived in Greece for several years so can be particular...their spanakopita(spinach pie) is fantastic. Their other items I found lacking. Overall, I will go back for their spanakopita but probably not much else. Their staff seem great, as well.

We tried Pero's on a Wednesday night in April. If it had not been for the reviews here I would have been thoroughly confused by the parking lot and door situation. I went in the back through the patio and was immediately greeted and seated. There were three adults and three children in our party. Our kids are picky so we were a bit concerned that they might not like the choices but they all found something they liked. Two of us had gyros and they were very good. My wife had a ham sandwich and the orzo salad. Both were very good. Bottom line - we found a new place where we can all find something we really like. Now, the onion rings. I love onion rings. These are good but not the best. They just don't seem to have a lot of flavor. I had to put catsup on them to really enjoy them. The breading isn't very crisp or crunchy. The rings are cut about 1/2 inch thick. They serve a very generous portion as a side or appetizer - no skimpy 4 ring serving or a two rings on top of your burger like some places do - making a side into a garnish. I will go back for the onion rings some time and one day, when I've lost some weight and can afford the calories I am going to try the Luther burger - a cheeseburger on a Krispy Kreme donut.

Been there once.....had spanikopita and the gyro and both were so fresh and delicious. The sauteed spinach was just minced garlic and olive oil...simple and yummy. Service very friendly and prompt, although to be fair we came when it was slow. The menu seems to have something for everyone....looking forward to trying more. I gave 4 stars only because in fairness I didn't have Italian items and it really is a half and half place. Pizza is next for me! But I have to say......I've been to quite a few Knoxville establishments......and for the price, this place can't be beat in my opinion. You walk away happy....simple as that. I've paid 3 times as much for the same feeling.....these are experienced chefs....fresh, homemade food......check it out.....you have nothing to lose!!
