The soup and sandwiches looked great - but I didn't get them. The lemon cookies are what they are famous for and they are really good. You can get one free by telling them you never had one before. The white chocolate macadamia nut cookies were even better. I swear one had whole macadamia nuts in it! They sell the cookies for 75 cents each or $6.99 for a dozen. They are easily worth more than that!

Every time we're in the area we have to make the excursion to Ham 'N Goodys for what are the best cookies - - Iced Tea Cake Cookies. They're an almond assault on the palate...and that's a very good thing. They also have wonderful cakes.

This place is not really known for its lunch even though they do sell sandwiches and salads. They have a pasta salad that rocks. This is the place in town that sells my favorite red velvet cake! You can buy whole cakes for a birthday and they are amazing! The also have cookies, the lemon in particular are everyones favorite. My dad takes several dozen to work every so often and his clients absolutely love them! They sell the cake by the slice if you get there early enough. Check them out! I highly recommend this place!

When visiting new York or Chicago I stop at a deli and enjoy a sandwich. The prices usually match the quality so I don,t mind a 9 or 10 dollar sandwich. I recently stopped at this establishment while traveling and was charged NY city prices with no quality unless a small amount of deli meat on a stale rye bread is quality.Drop the price or add some meat to your sandwiches.

Stopped by for their cookies of course. If you want a southern iced lemon cookie made the correct way you found it, lots of sugar, lots of butter. The almond tea cakes are just as good. While I was waiting for my order three others came in and for the same thing. I got a turkey sandwich to take on the boat. When I opened the sandwich hours later I found our that it was actual turkey... Not in the lunch meat form.

The lemon cookies are my go-to gift. The staff are unattentive, but, then again, I'd walk thru hot coals to get just one nibble!

Great cookies and desserts but the staff is rude and act as if customers are a nuisance. It'll be a long time before I go back. Hopefully they'll read some of the other reviews that express the same sentiment and decide to replace their counter people with better, more courteous employees.

The cookies are to die for! I have never physically been here but have had their cookies a number of times. I love the lemon cookie, chocolate chip and the tea cake. I plan on popping in for lunch at some point as their menu looks great. I would recommend for anyone to pop in for a cup-o-joe and a dozen cookies.

Lemon cookies are the reason my wifes family stops here when we're in town. Its funny, I'm from AZ and think part of the appeal is the word of mouth aspect and homie feel. Agree with other reviews, the lady at the front is a trip. These cookies are tasty.

The lemon cookies are amazing! Like melt in your mouth lemony goodness! The sandwiches are also delicious! I had one with ham and chicken.

I think you may have to be a southerner to appreciate a place like this. I had a 5 PM flight back to San Francisco and figured I'd swing by really quick to try out these cookies that everyone was talking about. I tried a "Glazed Tea Cake" which was basically a very large almond-flavored soft cookie with a sugary icing. This was ridiculously sweet and I didn't really enjoy it all that much. I had purchased two and the second one ended up not being consumed. The other cookie was the Lemon Glazed, which was much better but also was way too sweet. I'm quite a fatty and I love myself some dessert, but it was just too much for even me. With regards to the lemon cookie, I actually think that they might have something pretty cool if they made a less-sweet version of this one, but as-is I hesitate to recommend it.

After reading the reviews here, I decided to give Ham 'N Goodys a shot. I'm in search of good, quality desserts in Knoxville, specifically chocolate chip cookies. My expectations were high. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to them. The chocolate chip cookies were mediocre at best. I think they're on par with Kroger deli cookies, which isn't necessarily bad, but I'm not going to go out of my way to buy that kind of cookie. I'm all about chocolate, but the walnut brownie was way too sweet for me. (I have never said that about any dessert in my life. My friends actually gasped when I told them. For me to think something is too sweet, it would rot the typical person's teeth in an instant.) I actually forced myself to eat 3/4 of the brownie before throwing the rest away. It also had some kind of icing on top that was just unnecessary and probably pushed it over the edge. I think Chick-fil-A does the same thing, only better. Save yourself the time if it's out of your way. If not, go in and see for yourself, but don't say I didn't warn you.
