Good pizza great hometown atmosphere. The pizza sauce for the breadsticks is different sort of like spaghetti sauce. The breadsticks with dinner is a nice touch. Price is very affordable. Dinner for 2 with a small pizza would probably be enough with the breadsticks and if you order a small salad. Beer mugs were not cold so a little disappointed with that, but with the game on the TVs and a nice meal a good 4 stars.

I think this location/restaurant has widely gone under the radar for some time. Being a little further from downtown than many places, it's still worth a couple minutes more drive for very reasonably priced, good Italian. You won't find the "authentic Italian" bologna Alfredo as you well at that nasty "Italian" chain, but you will find great Calzones, pastas, pizza and sandwiches. Plenty of seating and friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. We'll be back!

I should have known when I saw hot wings on the menu, that maybe this would not be the best Italian ever. Suffice it to say I left annoyed with a box full of food (I hate wasting at restaurants). Yea...I don't know what to say except I just about hated my food, and don't plan on returning. I saw several people with pizza boxes, maybe that route would have fared better than my chicken piccata. I won't try and find out.

I have been to this place quite a few times based on convenience and every time I am in the middle w/ my opinion. The only thing that has grabbed my attention has been the steak in a pita which was good. The salads are average. The sausage and peppers are average. There is a big counter for desserts in which i have never found one that was absolutely delicious, all are at best mediocre. One thing that I will need to try will be the pizza. Everyone who really likes this place likes the pizza. So my only recommendation would be to try that before anything else. The service here is pretty good, which most likely is what keeps me coming back. Wish it was the food though :) Also parking here can get a little crazy as they share a lot w/ about 5 other businesses. Cheers & Enjoy!

Gondolier? More like gondorear cause every time I eat here I poop like a standing hippopotamus! Seriously have you ever seen the YouTube video for that? I'll post one in my description for you to grace your eyes with that video. Anyways this place is ran like a nazi concentration camp I think I even saw a worker eat his scab in the corner cause the manager wouldn't let him eat! I once actually ate a decent meal so naturally I wanted to compliment the chef but again nazi manager captain wouldn't let me! So of course i naturally sneak in the back to compliment him and that would probably make his day since he's working for nazis. So once I get back there I couldn't even talk to him cause he only spoke Spanish! So going to the restaurant was a waste of time. Oh and the gyros are the ish!

I have been here several times and you cant go wrong with anything you order. Their pasta, pizza, subs and teriyaki chicken are all amazing! Of course you get all you can get bread sticks and marinara. The deserts are wonderful and very large (enough for two). Their strawberry cheesecake is amazing! The employees are always very friendly. They normally have specials on the board near the door so definitely check that out.

I didn't care for the bread (which is very rare for me), but the rest of the food is great! I especially love the spinach ravioli.

My greek salad was fresh and the chicken was seasoned good...honestly this is probably a great place but I'm jaded...all the other Gondoliers I've been too are terrible...this one is for sure the best.

My family loves pizza and if you are tired of "fast food" pizza but like the price this is for you. Their pizza is cheap..a medium 2 topping with 8 pieces is about $10. This is definitely a monthly stop. They give free breadsticks which are very good.

Shady, won't be going back. Purchased a coupon from Half Off Depot and made the trip to west Knoxville to visit this location. I had been there many times previously years ago when I lived in that area and always had fond memories of the restaurant. When we arrived we told the staff we had the Half Off coupon, they said they would verify it. A manager came back and told us that the coupon was already used (it wasn't) and that he would take the receipt form, photocopy and file it, so that we couldn't continue scamming them. It was very embarrassing. I have never before been accused of stealing and was rather angry at the accusation. We left and had a lovely dinner at Calhoun's on Bearden Hill.

As a big fan of Carrabas and Macaroni Grill this place does not come close to measuring up. That being said, the portions are huge and you won't leave hungry. I had the tour of italy which had: Spaghetti (not too bad but a bit oily), lasanga (again not bad but very boxed tasting), manacotti (good, cheesy and very rich), and chicken parmesean (tasty, juicy, and cheesy). Tour of italy is about $13. It comes with a salad and free breadsticks and is a ton of food. I shared it with a little one and still had some left over......and I can eat! We also had some desert (the cake case is in the front as you walk in to entice you). The cakes look great but they don't live up to the look or the $6 price tag. You get a large piece but the cake was a bit dry and they just heap on thick layers of supermarket frosting between layers and on top. All in all an average place. I'd rate it a step above Fazolis but a step below Olive Garden.

Gondolier offers some of the best Italian, Greek, and American fare I've enjoyed. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, the food is fantastic, and the portions provide a good value for the price. Their menu reads like a book, so if you can't find something you like, it's really your own fault!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
