Family owned. Great service. Best carnitas and burritos we've ever had. No margaritas but several beers on tap. Desserts are incredible. Found our new favorite mexican place.

I visited Vegas Fiesta for two reasons. First, it rated quite high in Yelp. And second my wife was not able to join me on this trip. My wife does not particularly enjoy Mexican food, although she will go to one to humor me. So I went. It was Sunday evening about 6:30 PM. The restaurant was medium full. The sound level peaked at 91db, loud 2 1/2 year old. Mostly at 60db which is good. Chips and salsa came right after I was seated. Salsa is canned and the chips are bagged. Minus 1/2 point. I ordered steak fajitas and a Dos Eques. See photos. The beer was very good. So were the fajitas which came with refried beans, rice and shredded lettuce and guacamole. These were all fresh, not canned. The fajitas consisted of steak pieces, tomatoes, sweet red and green peppers and onions. These were well sautéed and served very hot on a metal pan. They were not very spicy, but I have come to expect this in rural white America. The Mexican hot sauce served on the table corrected this nicely. I did not partake of dessert. Total tab was $16.96 with $4 Dos Eques. Great buy, and pretty good food.

Vega's Fiesta is, for now, a well-kept local secret. It's still new, but all the people I know that eat here just love it. Almost everyone that works here is related somehow and they have a definite pride in their food, service, hospitality, and cakes. The beer is ice cold and they don't have liquor because of the antiquated blue laws around here. Don't miss: 1) the "special guacamole" it's very good 2) ice cold beer in a frosted mug 3) best chile rellenos around [ask for them with enchilada sauce, trust me on this] 4) if you like it hot order Pescada Diabla, it's tilapia with a habanero and extra spicy enchilada sauce. It's not on the menu yet, but Camarones [shrimp] Diablos are on the new menus. The cakes are amazing...especially the pistachio. Mexican cake is different. The 5-milk cake and chocolate cake are really heavy, but not super sweet. Plenty of parking, super friendly staff, and consistently good food make this a place worth coming back to. So we do. About once a week!

Worst service ever. They took forever and food didn't taste good at all. I would rather go to Taco Bell then there. I was not satisfied at all never going back.

I highly recommend the pollo picasa. The service is slow but the food has returned to good.

Although it's a bit outside of town it's definitely worth the drive. The food is delicious with flavors that are unique and really set this place apart from other Mexican restaurants in the area. As a family of four we all got something different and every plate was delicious, easy to look at, and perfectly portioned. We even had enough room for desert, and let me tell you the cinco leches (five milk) cake is to die for. So if you're traveling 11-E between Greeneville and Johnson City stop in for a real Mexican treat.

Ooh my! It is the BEST Mexican food I have ever had. The whole family loves the place. We are regulars and the staff they are like old friends and family. The special guacamole and tomatillo sauce are out of this world. We have our favorite meals but I have yet to try anything off the menu that has not been lip smacking good. And if you are lucky they may even cook you up something off the menu. Then you are in for an amazing journey to flavor town. Everyone should try this place out. It is worth the wait!!

Sometimes, you just want some good Mexican food without a lot of frills. This family owned and operated place really delivered ... and the decor was nice, too. Housed in a location converted from a previous incarnation as a steak house, the cowboy style decor blended into a nice upscale mexican restaurant feel. The service was prompt, being seated by a young man who informed us that his sister would be right with us to take our order ... and she was. The menu was varied, lots to choose from, including homemade tamales. With four people in the party, we had a chance to try several different dishes (all excellent), but anyone familiar with Mexican cooking knows that the real proof is always in the home made tamales ... and they were beyond excellent ... they should be prescribed by a doctor in the event of Mexican food withdrawal! I wasn't expecting this level of food and friendliness at a roadside Mexican restaurant ... but I was blown away ... and will definately be back. Try their desserts, as well. Mmmmmmm.

Casual, comfortable, nothing fancy. Consistently good authentic Mexican food. I have been there many times and the food and service have always been excellent.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
