We were here for business. We had their 10 inch pizzas. My husband had the butcher block, their all meat pizza. I had their 10 inch garden pizza and my daughter had their 10 inch cheese. I would say the 10 inch is big enough for two people. They all tasted really good. Love the brick oven pizza taste. We will come back and explore the rest of the menu.

My husband and I like to come here at least once a week. They are always so very nice and the food is incredible. We usually start with the seafood cheese dip and order the club salad. It's the BEST salad that I order out. I tend to be a little picky when it comes to ordering a salad as my entree. We also usually get a pizza to go because it's good and it makes for easy dinner later. Hands down the best pizza place in Jackson!

Wow! Wow! Wow! All the ingredients are fresh! The sauces and seasonings are homemade! The service is outstanding! But the crust...the crust...(insert angelic chorus here) the crust is a work of art. We have never had better pizza.

Great pies! Lots of creative topping combos and great beer prices.

Picasso's is wonderful! This is not your average pizza. And it may cost more than Little Caesar's but it is well worth the price! Delicious.. excellent service.

This place is A-MAZING! I absolutely love Picasso. They have a great wine selection by the bottle or by the glass. I usually go for their house white wine with their healthy portion glass sizes. Pizzas are thin made fresh from their wood burning fire pit. If you want a real treat, try the Margharita pizza or jerk chicken pizza. It is simple but absolutely delightful. Recommendation -- sit at the wine bar to relax and enjoy some good people watching.

First off, they have a really nice and cozy patio. Their pizza is really good - I had a 1/2 and 1/2 of the jerk chicken pizza and black and bleu. The jerk chicken was perfectly spiced but sparse considering the size of the pizza. The black and bleu was tasty, although the "filet mignon" was more like strip steak to me. Nevertheless, both were good. Everything seemed fresh. The service here was good, too, with timely refills of drinks. I'd definitely consider eating here again.

This place is great for carryout. They are speedy, friendly, and the pizza is fantastic. We always get takeout from Picasso when staying in Jackson. They also have a great house salad, with yummy homemade dressings.

This is my favorite pizza place in Jackson. I also like that they have other items on the menu. I mostly get the pepperoni and portobello mushroom pizza. The steak wrap is good also. They have an excellent selection of unique but good pizzas.

Can't knock it on creativity, that's for sure, but didn't blow my mind or anything. While driving across the country, we were on the lookout for a good place to grab lunch. Always eschewing chain joints on road trips, I sought out the best place in Jackson and came across this. Seeing "filet mignon" as a topping option was all it took to get me in the door. Service was quick and very friendly, no wait. The pizza was delicious, no doubt, but not enough to amaze me into stopping by every time we pass through or anything.

My 2nd visit and it has great both times. Prices are reasonable and staff is very friendly, and food is delicious. I had the Sausage & Peppers oh my! Calzone and it was fantastic, slightly spicy sausage and sweet peppers with tons of mozzarella cheese! Good selection of entrees, pizza, salads and sandwiches. Nice set up at the bar too, if you are in the mood for adult beverages!

Fabulous place... Excellent service, friendly, prompt even when busy!!! Our server Taylor was incredible! The assistant GM, Cal was terrific, working tables, making sure everything was good. The CA Veggie pizza was delicious, you'll not be disappointed.

This place is awesome. A must try. Excellent selection: something for everyone from pizza, wine, beer, fish. A true Mediterranean selection with an average American twist but the quality is the selling point here. Also the reason I couldn't give 5 stars. You get what you pay for in quality (of taste and presentation) and friendly wait staff but the portions are not as big as I would have liked for $11 for a 10-inch pizza. Caribbean Jerk - This pizza is not what you would expect from the word Caribbean. The sauce is sweet, non-tomato based but not spicy. It's topped with jalapeños, cilantro, chicken and pineapple but the oven is a stone/brick oven so the pineapple doesn't dry out. The crust is also uniform (and good if chewy) because it uses gas instead of wood. In a word: fresh

I love local restaurants, and this one is probably my favorite in all of Jackson. The atmosphere is great there, both in ambiance and patrons. I don't usually do appetizers, but the crawfish dip there is out of this world! Be warned, don't get it if you are on a diet. For entrees, I've tried many things there from excellent wraps, fresh Hawaiian fish, and, of course, the pizza. They have numerous offerings in the specialty pizza category. However, I tend to keep mine simple with pepperoni and mushroom. Folks, you will not find a more authentic Italian pizza anywhere in west Tennessee. The sauce, cheese, and toppings are all in abundance. I usually have to let the pie cool for about 10 minutes to keep the cheese from sliding off or scalding the roof of my mouth. When the time is right, it is perfection! I've never left there unsatisfied with the food or the service. Going back again soon!

Staff ignored me while they served friends who came in after me. Don't waste your time unless you are a regular

We received courteous service from everyone and felt welcomed from the time we arrived. These folks make their own dough, sausage, kielbasa, Marinara sauce - all from scratch. Each pizza is made to order with made-from-scratch ingredients. All of these factors meld together in their Italian hearth oven into a tasty pie that simply has to be experienced. In fact, the next time your in - or going through - Jackson, treat yourself and learn why these pizzas get such great reviews.

Traveling through and picked this spot because of reviews. So it doesn't remind me of Italy like other reviewers said. The place was scarce, hardly any customers. We walked in and the waitress walked by us and said "sit wherever". OK. So we were thinking this wasn't going well. Then, the garlic knots came and things changed drastically! They were amazing! Pizza was amazing as well! Great choice!

A calzone consists of a cheese (usually mozzarella), ricotta, and choice of toppings with a side of sauce and maybe red pepper and parm on the side as well. What they have, is a stromboli in the shape of a calzone. But being outside of the tri-state area usually yields that result. My stombolizone was ok. Glorified hot pocket at best. The customer service was horrific and terrifying. B/f had no place to wait for my to-go order. The piece of square footage he ordered in, and tried to wait in was apparently a fire lane, and he was rudely asked to wait out in the wilderness; and he was ignored when he asked for a drink while he waited??? Not worth the hassle. Next time I pass through; which is frequent btw, I will opt for one of the many other restaurant choices. One where customer service and cleanliness matters. And all of my co travellers in my corporation will be cautioned to stay far away.

I'm giving them a 5 because in addition to having great food their service is great as well. I was passing through and grabbed a pizza to go. It was ready and hot when I got there an hour later and the guy that took care of me got me some plates, napkins and condiments for the road. Pizza tasted great! Good crunch to the crust and lots of toppings! Next time I'm passing through Jackson I'll be grabbing another pie for the road!

Had a 16 inch black and blue e pizza all for myself for lunch, thinking I would love it and would have leftovers for dinner back at the hotel,,,,well the steak was not great on it, some pieces ended up in my napkin,, the sauce had way too much black pepper,,, it was tough to eat the first piece,, I gave it another try with a second piece and either it was less peppery or my mouth was used to it,,, I ended up leaving the rest. I obviously needed drink refills to get through it,,, service was slow but they ended up not charging me for the iced teas that I had,,, nice atmosphere but if you are going,,, stick with the basics ,, I did have a good Greek salad there.

Food, atmosphere, service - Picasso's has it all! Very casual atmosphere. Can't decide between two pizzas? No problem! Order two half pizzas! I can't remember which ones I ordered but they were great! The garlic bread knots are a must. If you love buttery, garlic bread you will not be disappointed. If the weather is nice you can dine al fresco.

Tacky strip mall ambience. I guess they call it a bistro because they have sidewalk searing. Boring house salad, mostly iceberg lettuce with the occasional other scrap of vegetable. Had the Black and Blue pizza which featured scattered shoe leather "filet mignon" and a few crumbs of blue cheese. Crust was soft and doughy similar to pizza hut. Had to go in search of waitress when I was ready for the check.

Love this little gourmet pizza place. Great salads and a nice wine list. Pizza menu boasts things like rock lobster and ahi tuna. All wood fired. Nice entrees as well. Trendy but not pretentious. Wish there was one in Memphis!

Very cool looking place, brick fire oven, outdoor seating, I was stoked when I first walked in. But the pizza I had wasn't what I expected. I ordered the G-man supreme. The sauce is great! All the toppings looked fresh, but were all piled in the middle of the pizza. The dough was very undercooked when you peeled back the toppings, the cheese was barely cooked, no browning, all pure yellow in color. I live 4 mins away from the place and by the time I got home the center of the pizza was cool too the touch. If they had left the pizza cook for 6 more mins it may have made my experience better, may give them 1 more shot.

It's okay pizza. Certainly not anything a person who lives in the Northeastern U.S. would sing about, but pretty good. I have had good and bad service there. A little pricey, too. I will go back, not often, but would definitely choose these guys over Domino's or Pizza Hut.

I have never NEVER had a bad meal here. Cool place with great salads and awesome pizza. Many slice and salads, several sandwiches, a couple to-go pizzas and a few big salads. The staff is great and atmosphere is interesting and pleasant. Perfect.

Jackson is the Land of Chains, and after a week of Red Robin, McAllister's and Outback, Picasso was a very welcome respite. This lively pizzeria was packed on a Tuesday night, and though we had to sit for a few minutes before someone came to take our order, it was worth the wait. They have an interesting selection of beers, including the Giraffe of Beer, a hookah-like tableside keg that holds 108 oz. for a table of 3 or more (or less, if you are so inclined) with your choice of draft beer. I had a glass of Chianti followed by one of their signature 10-inch pizzas called Scott's Caribbean Jerk on a delicious whole-grain crust. The pizza was topped with Jamaican jerk chicken, pineapple, cilantro, red onions, roasted red peppers and jalapeno- a perfect blend of sweet and spicy where all the flavors blended without anything taking over too harshly. My dining partner said the pizza far surpassed the sandwich he had, and we wanted to go back for lunch the next day to try the much-lauded sangria and another pizza, but had to rush off mid-day to Nashville to catch a flight home. Too bad we discovered this place so late in the game. Skip all those chain places if you are in the mood for pizza in Jackson and go to Picasso!

Love Picasso! Awesome, awesome atmosphere for casual or fancy! The pizza is hands-down the best to be found in Jackson. I've tried one of their steak wraps - also wonderful. They have a superb house salad - I recommend the apple poppyseed dressing... I believe that's what it's called.

The quality of the meat and cheese is very good. I would love to give them more of a positive rating but they need to learn how to make pizza dough. It is far to "bready" and not yeasty enough. There is just something not right about the way they make it. It makes good food average if you know what I mean. They are however one of only two non chain pizza place in a town of almost 60,000 which is very surprising.

I business travel in Jackson and the surrounding area a lot. Have been going to Picasso's for a few years now. The pizza is very good, so nice to have a departure from the chains. Service has been a little spotty. I've noticed service is better at lunch than in the evenings.

Best pizza & calzones in West Tennessee. Really chill atmosphere and a great place to hang out if you just want a good beer. And the lunch specials are really good if you want good lunch at a good price.

Tired of your run of the mill restaurant? Well look no further than Picasso's Bistro and Pizzeria for a much needed diversification for your average dining experience. Picasso's offers a wide variety of choices that is sure to please almost anyone. While the do offer a good variety of pizzas, they also extend their menu to include a wide variety of other choices. From salads to sandwiches to fresh fish or steak, they really do have whatever might strike your fancy. As far as their pizzas go, they do not just offer the run of the mill product. While familiar variations such as pepperoni or heaven forbid plain cheese, can be ordered, their signature pizzas are a little more exotic. From their "Bayou Sunset" which features crawfish, andouille sausage, scallions and banana peppers as well as a healthy portion of blackening seasoning to the "Black and Bleu" which gives you a healthy potion of Filet Mignon, red onions, scallions and bleu cheese, the pizzas from Picasso's have enough variety to keep you coming back and never getting bored. On top of their entrees, Picasso's also has an incredible dessert menu. Artfully presented with potions meant to be shared, it is a true shame if you don't manage to save room for one of these indulgences. To compliment their menu they also have an extraordinary bar. With a rotating selections of craft beers on tap, a terrific selection of craft beer bottles as well as a wide variety of wines, they have whichever libation suits your fancy. And to make this even more enticing they even offer a happy hour from 3 - 7 PM with a variety of drink specials. Whatever you are craving, Picasso's most likely will have something to satisfy. And while during peak hours, the restaurant does get busy, if you are forced to wait, be assured that it is well worth it. On the whole, Picasso's Bistro and Pizzeria is an incredible place. Whether the occasion is going out for lunch, meeting up with friends, celebrating a special event or going out with that someone special, you can rest assured that your experience here will far exceed anywhere else in the area.

This bistro is great for the family or date. You can eat in the bar while watching sports or in the dining room with the dinner party. A friend of mine really likes the margaritas. I like the specialty draft beers, and my wife enjoys the wine list. You can't go wrong with the dinner salad & the jamaican jerk chicken pizza. The service is consistently good. Relax & enjoy yourself!

So delicious!!! Stayed in Jackson overnight last week and read the reviews suggesting Picasso. Soooo glad we decided to try it out. One of the best pizzas ever. I had a small filet mignon/blue cheese pizza and it had supreme flavor! Wow!! Hubby and son tried the jerk chicken pizza and devoured it too! Nice menu too if you want something other than pizza. Definitely better than a chain place!

  • Bobby G.

Wow. I am super impressed. Was traveling on business and decided to stop in for dinner. They have a nice, secluded bar area with a couple of TV's streaming sports and a HUGE bottled beer selection. The best part about the visit was the pizza. I am from Chicago and tend to know a good pizza from a terrible one. They tend to specialize in custom pizzas made internally. I ordered the "Butcher Block" pizza. It was ridonkulously good. If you like meat flavor on your pizza you HAVE to get it. I'd post a picture but most of it is gone. Highly recommend this place. I will be returning.

Oh sooooo good!!! We met some friends here for dinner with our children and it was awesome! We had the pizza that has a salad on top, as well as the filet mignon pizza, and we ordered a small cheese pizza for our kids. It was all fantastic! Hubby was very impressed with the arnold palmer and the server even brought a pitcher of it to our table. The crust was perfect and chewy, just right really. The red sauce was just right- tangy and light, full of flavor and not too acidic or sweet. Toppings were generous and the combinations of toppings were great. LOVED the salad pizza- it was put together perfectly! Hope we can make it back through here sometime!

These are great pizzas with unique flair! We ate here for lunch during a business trip to Jackson and really enjoyed the meal. There were three of us and we tried both the three sausage pizza--which is self explanatory as well as the "Black and Bleu" which includes Filet Mignon, Bleu Cheese, and onions. They were both outstanding--although a little more than the three of us could finish. Our server was apparently in training but did a great job considering it was only her second day. Just in case, a seasoned server followed up with us a couple of times just to make sure we were being treated well. If I ever make it back to Jackson--which is doubtful--I really want to try their Rockin' Lobster Pizza with Alfredo sauce.

My husband and I just ate here and have mixed reviews. The pizzas tasted awesome, however the service could have been better. We sat at the bar and our waitress was friendly, but kept forgetting things. Our pizzas were brought out to us and both were wrong, so we had to wait another 30 minutes for corrected pizzas. No napkins or utensils were offered, so I reached across bar and retrieved them myself. We expected a discount on our tab since our food took longer because of her mistake, but no such luck. I ordered the dessert pizza to go and had to remind her to get for us. She obviously wanted to be somewhere else since my husband heard her ask if she could go home. All in all, we highly recommend the food, but don't expect attentive service if you eat here.

Friendly, easy-going service. Inexpensive wine. Right off I-40. You gotta stop here, fellow Yelp-er! Those in Jackson have the luck of Picasso in their own backyard.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
