This is a sentimental favorite for me, but it's still very good. The pulled pork is literally as good as any you'll find in Jackson. The vegetables are prepared the way they should be. I don't think Brooksie's is overly expensive; a person wouldn't eat here every day so it's a bit of a treat.

First time to Brooksie's. In town visiting family and took us over tonight. Buffet is $13.95 and is 100% worth the price! Have all the country vegetables you could ever want plus a nice salad bar. Vegetables ARE NOT cooked in butter and all were very tasty. Greens, black eyed peas, Lima beans, baked beans, etc. all terrific! Pulled pork is some of the best I've ever had. Fried catfish was fresh and good also. Also had ribs, fried shrimp, chicken. For dessert had banana pudding, peach cobbler, and a little soft serve ice cream. Would HIGHLY recommend if you like southern cooking and are hungry!! Also very clean facility with nice view of the lake.

Yummy Southern food. Recommended by my family who lives in Jackson. Fried okra, greens, black-eyed peas, roast & potatoes, fried catfish..... you name it, they had it. All of the Southern comfort food you could imagine. I loved the hush puppies. A little overcooked, but absolutely lovely.

Very good southern food. It's primarily buffet and slightly pricey. Brooksies has been a little inconsistent lately but usually very good. Some of the best ribs in Jackson and usually have a very good selection. Overall a great place if you want southern cooking.

Whew! The Dude might have to drive back to get me some more Memphis bbq and fixins! Wow. Hush puppies a tad over fried for The Dude. But, all else including our righteous waitress who steered us through some tricky vegetarian options. Maybe best baked potato ever!! Koast to Koast with Koumbaro ( yelp.com/user_details?us… ) on the I-40 and I-81. 2012 was a good year to find healthy food that still satisfied the tastebuds even if sometimes it wasn't so healthy :))

So I can only comment on the Barbecue Turkey: DELICIOUS. It's moist and tasty. The vegetables were also seasoned well. I had the greens and baked beans. When they brought out my hushpuppies, they were cold. When I brought it to the server's attention, she brought out fresh ones. I love stopping here for the BBQ Turkey, you can even by a pound or two to take home.

I am sure that Mr. Brooksie Sanderson is spinning in his grave after sampling what is being sold under his namesake restaurant. I so not believe ANYTHING is actually cooked on-site anymore. Everything is either out of a bag or heated in a microwave. This place once had a real bar-b-q pit, homemade veggies and other side items. Absolutely no taste left to this once wonderful example of southern style cooking. Avoid it like the PLAGUE it is. The present ownership should be sued for continuing to use the Brooksie's name. This is a sad ending for what was once a wonderful restaurant.

Knew it would be good when I saw greens and boiled okra on the buffet. Very good, indeed!

Has a great salad bar and buffet with a good variety of southern foods like fried chicken, greens, chicken and dumplings, and fried okra. For under $10 for lunch we were very happy. It is tricky to find the driveway. The sign is behind some trees. Look for the driceway just east of the Love&Truth Church. Windows overlook a pretty pond,

WHY is the lunch buffet up to $15.99? They must think this is fine dining or something!!!!!!!????

A good, solid Country Style Family Buffet. They have 2 food bars, the soup/salad bar which has basic salad/food items and the "big" bar which has lots of "southern" food. If you are not from the South and want to sample a variety of Southern food surrounded by Southern hospitality in a country atmosphere, you should stop in here for a button bursting meal that leaves you needing a nap. Fried chicken, catfish, creamy mashed potatoes, fried okra, BBQ, yummy hush-puppies,cornbread, deep fried donut type things, banana pudding, cobblers and so on...

Where to start? The smell of old ghost town wood? The feeling like if you touched anything it would stick to you? Perhaps the lack of any flavor in the food. I get that people in Jackson are raised to only like the blandest and most tasteless food but this even was bad for a city where food goes to die. Let talk about the assortment. Pulled pork was OK but very bland. Everything else was mushy, overcooked, and almost unpalatable. The presentation was one of tired and worn out retirement home salad bar after mid day supper. Then let' get to the worst of the worst... the price. $14 for a buffet that would make a run for it's money against one of those local casinos in Las Vegas that only skeletons and retired gamblers go to. The only reason this place is still in business is because Tennessee is too cheap to have food inspectors.

Every kind of veggie seasoned to perfection, white beans & country ham, home style baked beans seasoned perfect with there pulled pork.
