Great food, had fajitas texanas, waiter was not very attentive, sizzling fajitas came and had to ask several minutes later for my set up plate. Food was hot, portion was over the top and tasty

Los Primos needs more reviews, so here's another. If my wife was the one reviewing, you'd see 6 stars up here, because she says it is the greatest Mexican food she's ever had, and she says it with no exaggeration. She ordered a steak that was just out of this world, and the refried beans were the best we've ever had (yes, apparently there are different ways to make refried beans, I was surprised too). My beef tips were also pretty delicious, although I was disappointed that they didn't come with rice and beans. I don't know what it is about east-coast Mexican food that seems to make bean dip and a salsa bar mandatory, but I'm starting to get used to it.

We never miss this restaurant when traveling east on I 40 from Nashville. Fresh, fresh, fresh! Even the salsa, which is superb. Break away from beef/pork. Try their fish tacos, shrimp quesadilla or shrimp chimichanga. The service efficient and friendly. The restaurant is clean and attractive. Easy access from and to I 40.

I live in a nearby city and eat here several times a month. The food is always good and the service is also good. I cannot recall in all the times I have eaten here ever having a bad experience.

This place was horrible. The food is old and told the manager and he didn't care to help not make any changes. I do not recommend anyone to eat here. Doesn't even deserve half a start.

DELICIOUS food! Everything tasted fresh. The place was packed! We are visiting in Rockwood for a week, and have eaten here twice already as a family. Food is fabulous and the staff are friendly. Colorful decorating.

I would only eat here again if I was starving! They had horrible chips and salsa, poor service, and mediocre food! Go here only if you want a terrible meal!

We had a great meal at Los Primos. There were 8 of us and we were looking for a place in between where all of us could meet, eat and talk. This was where we decided and what a good choice it was. The server was very good and so was the food. Out of the 8 of us, only one wasn't thrilled with the food but we think it was mainly because of a preference to sauce. I can't say the Mexican food was the best we've ever had but it was pretty darn good. However, the bean dip we ordered to go along with our chips was probably the best we had every had. Our orders ranged from enchiladas to chimichangas to fajitas and even nachos. There was a pretty good selection served at our table. Over all, it was good. We have no complaints and would definitely return. Then, there was the price ... CHEAP PS -- We loved the decor too!

From 10yrs of experience in the restaurant industry I can be very understanding, however it's pretty hard to fuck up quick trash mex and remarkably they succeeded. From not knowing what cholula was, tables ordering after us and leaving much earlier, my very uncomplicated order that only included a request for no lettuce and had to be repeated twice, and my boyfriends tacos getting cold after asking for hot sauce three times we were extremely disappointed. When I sent my food back because (shocker) it had lettuce all over it we watched as the front of house and kitchen staff laughed it off and brought me back my food that still had traces of lettuce in the rice and on my enchiladas. Extremely poor service who don't truly care about repeat business. Only eat here if Cracker Barrel and Ruby Tuesday are on a 30+ minute wait, or better yet a diet coke at the McDonald's across the street would be probably best if you can't completely avoid this area.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
