I ate here soon after they opened but just now found them on yelp to review. I had general Taos chicken and an egg roll for carry out. It was all cold and just plain gross. I haven't bothered going back nor will I until I hear things have turned around.

We got this once a few months ago for take out. I was pregnant at the time and craving some Chinese. Hubby was near here and wanted to give it a shot. We haven't eaten Chinese from anywhere else since then. 90% of the time we get it as carry out and eat at home, but we've never had an incorrect order and it's always tasted fresh. We have dined in on occasion and service was always very prompt and attentive. I will say the to-go portions are larger than when you dine in. Also the kids sweet and sour chicken is large enough for both of my children to share. It is by far our favorite weekly treat. Chicken lettuce wraps and brown rice! Bourbon chicken. Sweet and sour chicken with white rice!! All get a big thumbs up!!!

Descent looking place, staff friendly enough. I ordered the five flavor lunch plate. You can get this with different meat selections. I asked for chicken and spicy rice, to which the waitress, asked what type of rice, again I stated spicy but this only seem to confuse her more and she stated they have many different kinds, shrimp, chicken, ect. And I responded, vegetable and she said okay hurrying away. Upon return, with a plate of warm food, the right kind of dish, but instead of five flavor chicken, was five flavor vegetables. The flavor wasn't bad, I just wish i'd had some protien and to have said something I would have to wave the waitress back down and I had no time for that. The rice was blah, and not because it wasn't spicy, just meh.. I was checked on once, (after 15minutes) at the end of my meal when she noticed me waiting for a check. No one came back to collect, so I made my way to the front, with the booklet in my hand. They hollard thank you and asked to me to come back soon, not even realizing I hadn't paid. I could have just walked out not paying but that's not me. I'm rather confused myself and will not be returning.

Delicious, fresh and vibrant! My wife and I happened into this place on a whim -- boy are we glad we did; we will be back often if they repeat the performance of our first visit. She had a Thai dish with tofu and was "over the moon" in love with the balance of ingredients and seasoning. I had beef & vegetables in garlic sauce and I was really impressed with the balance of spice and the selection and preparation of the vegetables -- they were tender and fresh, cooked just right. We are already planning a night to take a family group. Give them a try -- we think this might be the best kept secret in the area.

My wife and I had eaten around the corner at the old China Express many times. When they announced they were opening back up as Rice Box, I was very happy. We went in and had the Family Styled Vegetables with Bean Curd along with sides of the vegetarian egg rolls. Excellent service as it has always been. We will return!

I was so excited to walk in and see the same faces that I had missed so much over the past year. I had been a loyal customer of China Express for over a decade. I was ecstatic to learn that the same people and food were now at Rice Box. Only Rice Box offers more meal options, appetizers, beer, and desserts. It's simple, beautiful decor and ambiance. The prices are normal for a sit down Asian diner. I had my old usual from China Express, which the lady at the register remembered after all this time, the cashew chicken. My husband had the dragon&phoenix which includes general tso's chicken. My food was the best cashew chicken ever, as usual ( no one makes it like these guys), and my husband, who has only lived in Nashville for about a year, said his general tso's was the best he's had in Nashville. The table service was fast and friendly ( they have always been so sweet!) and it took a normal amount of time for our food to come to us after ordering. Needless to say, we will definitely be back to Rice Box. ALOT!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
