Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

This TGI Friday's was like any other one. The service was good and the location is extremely convenient in Downtown Gatlingburg. We went for an NFL game so the place was packed! They have definitely stepped up their game with the menu. It was a huge change from a couple of years ago. Had a shrimp, ribs and chicken appetizer which I really enjoyed. Not sure if I would return as there are so many restaurants in Gatlingburg!

the place was totally deserted at 12:30pm which worried me but we sat down anyways. the service wasn't bad, just a little informal. the place was huge and was kept clean. our waitress was nice as was the hostess. the food wasn't terrible. the burger buns were cold and the meat is just the simple frozen kind you get at a grocery. not worth $10. the Jack Daniel burger sauce was a sugar bomb. tooooo sweet. it also used the cheap frozen patty. the shrimp chicken pasta was good but the color looked like vomit. they might want to change the presentation. the yucatan salad was just a normal salad but the presentation was ugly. overall, it wasn't bad but there are more interesting options for $50 lunch for 4.

Eat here if it's unavoidable, but otherwise, I'm sure you can find somewhere better to satisfy your hunger in Gatlinburg. We went on a long hike here from our Smoky Mountains campsite and we were famished by the time we arrived. TGI Friday's was the first place we saw, so we went for it, figuring it's a chain so at least it must meet some standard of quality. First of all, the place just didn't smell quite right. I noticed a couple employees smoking in the back when we left, which made me feel grossed out to imagine the smoky people handling my food. Our waiter was not particularly friendly, although he certainly wasn't rude. It just seemed like he had a plastic smile and was not particularly enthused about having to work there. We all ordered soft drinks, and the Sprite/Sierra Mist/7-Up (who knows the difference) was extremely watered down. It tasted strange, unsugary, and closer to an almost flat Perrier. I politely explained this to the waiter and he got me new drink, but it tasted the same. Ick. Upon perusing the menu, I realized that this place is not at all vegetarian friendly. Desperate to eat something that wasn't just a side of fries, I tried to order a grilled cheese, which happened to be from the children's menu. The waiter informed me that I couldn't order the grilled cheese because I obviously was too old. I ended up eating fries. Even though I don't eat meat, the food my family members ordered didn't look convincingly appetizing. 3 stars for service, 1 star for the food. If I'm ever back in Gatlinburg, I definitely won't go to this franchise, and I probably won't go back to any TGI Friday's, for that matter. Maybe the food and service are better at other locations, but this isn't a place for a vegetarian anyway.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had in my life. I cannot believe that Carlson let's these morons run the place because it's heinous. After I stayed the first night, I asked for service to the room I am staying in, and the guy who was doing the "maintenance" warned me that the area apparently doesn't know anything about customer service: I didn't believe it them, but I believe it now. TGI Friday's just happens to be the worst experience out of several mediocre to bad experience I've had. They didn't wipe down, clean, or even properly bus my table, they just picked up a plate off of it, and seated us. Asking about the parking voucher I had, they kept passing the buck to the next person until I got to the server, and even he told me to wait until the end of the "meal." We sat next to a partition which separated our area and a breezeway, and the server kept trying to serving the plates over it. There were no napkins and no utensils until we asked for it. Even their presentation is stupid. I got the $12.99 three course deal, and when the dessert came out, it was on one of those long rectangular plates that they use for appetizers. Come on, when the plate is three times longer than it needs to be, it looks looks ridiculous. The ONLY things that was not absolutely ridiculous was the actual food itself. It was all right. But even that can't overcome how awful the experience was.

We were in town on football weekend and were looking for a place to watch the game so we came to Fridays. I was very pleased to see they have a tv at every table so you can watch the game of your choice. The food & service were great. We will definitely come back next time we're in town.

Went after 10:00 PM on a Friday night and didn't have to wait for a table; restaurant was not packed at all. Service was good, and the food was good as well.

This place is gross. Standard Friday's fare, but it's smelly and unkempt. I know someone who used to work here and they were told to serve a drink after a fly had been fished out of it with a spoon. Another time a piece of moulding around a drink station fell off and a centipede was behind the damp piece of wood. The same person told me that the management knows exactly what the health inspector will look for and are given a week's notice so they can prepare, so they're never really inspected properly. It's just not sanitary. Besides, there is absolutely no reason to eat at a dirty, low-end chain when there are good local options like Cherokee Grill just down the street. Yuck. Avoid!!

If everything else in town is closed, than yes come; otherwise avoid like the plague. As we walked in, we on-viewed 1/2 of their server staff outside smoking by the front entrance... real professional. The atmosphere is as expected, but we got the feeling we weren't all that welcomed or appreciated as customers because we just sat down on their patio to enjoy a few drinks out of the rain. Slow service... we ordered a mudslide and their new froze Guinness drink. We watched as an entire table of about 11 guys, who were seated a solid 5-10 min after our order was placed, receive each of their beers before ours. Each time our server passed, which was about 3x's with an armful of their beers, he kept saying our drinks were coming right out. By the time ours were brought, they were 1/2 melted, which probably tells me they were sitting at the bar all along. Granted, this probably has more to do with the server, but it was pretty slow, why couldn't any of the other 5-10 servers run our drinks? Rather than send them back, we paid and left with this tale.

TGI Fridays right in the middle of everything in the walking around part of "downtown" Gatlinburg. The wait can take a while sometimes and the food and service is standard for a Friday's but you know what you'll get. In this tourist area, that's not a bad thing. Sometimes you just want to know you're going to get a pretty good meal for a pretty good price. This may very well be that place if you are walking around Gatlinburg.
