Excellent service with the best chile relleno I have ever had. Prices are fair. I am converting from Casa Vieja to here from now on. Also we found a coupon on restaurant.com for 1/2 off

BEWARE!! My family and I decided to try this restaurant based on reviews posted here. Being only 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant when we arrived, the service seemed to be very good. Food was delivered to our table in a timely manner, but half of the order was forgotten and had to be made after 2 of the meals already came out. After finishing our food, we gave our waitress a restaurant.com certificate we had purchased. The certificate cost $10 and was good for $25 toward your purchase. When the waitress saw the certificate, her attitude completely changed. She took a long time to bring us our check and boxes for our food, no big deal to most, but I was with my 2 young children who were definitely ready to go. When we finally got our check, I noticed an 18% gratuity added. Now, the checks at this place consist of a calculator tape and that is it. You would never know how much anything costs by looking at your check. The 18% gratuity was added inconspicuously after I gave her the certificate. My party consisted of 4 people, myself, my husband, and our 2 children under 4 years old. I couldn't believe a tip was added to our check. My husband had dined her before, and there was no tip added, so clearly it was not a restaurant policy, it was at the waitresses discretion. Also, there was a sign outside of the restaurant when we walked in that stated that fajitas were the daily special at $6.99. On our check, there was nothing for that price, so when I questioned the waitress, she said that was a lunch special only. THEN TAKE THE SIGN DOWN!! I will not be back to this restaurant based on service alone, but on top of that, the food was only average...try Dos Margaritas in Hendersonville, much better service and much better prices!!

I went with a big group using a restaurant.com coupon. With 9 of us, we pretty much all had something different and everyone really enjoyed what they got. I would say my dish was the least favorite--I had the chili verde with pork. I thought the verde sauce was a little too tart/sour so I wouldn't get it again but I'm not that familiar with verde. All the rest of the food was right on! The margaritas were really good, too. Service was great--very friendly. We will come back!!

We have tried several Mexican restaurants in the Gallatin area and this is our favorite. What sets this place apart is the staff. They have an abundance of energy and are there to give you the best dining experience. An extensive menu covers all your Mexican favorites and a few more. The atmosphere is colorful and festive. Have a good time.

Finally found Mexican food in gallatin! Give it a try if you have been looking like I have. I might be over rating it because I am so excited to finally have a Mexican place to not let me down. I will report back after my next meal here to insure it is in fact THAT good.

Went in here before class the other day to grab a bean and cheese burrito to have for dinner on break. Lets just say their bean and cheese burrito was not what I was envisioning, instead of just being wrapped in paper as I expected they were in a container smothered in cheese sauce. Due to the lack of portable convenience I wasn't able to eat until after school, when I finally did I enjoyed it. The cheese sauce is delicious here but the beans could have used a little more flavor and been a touch less runny. The chips and salsa here were good as well. They have the light crispy type of tortilla chips which I enjoy.

The decor is fun and inviting. Staff was readily available and courteous. I had the carne asada and shrimp cocktail. Steak was a little dry but flavorful. Shrimp cocktail was large enough for 3 and was soupy, yet delicious. Oh, the mango margarita wasnt as strong as i'd prefer but it was ok. I will come back to try the mole soon.

Fantastic - burrito degollado was phenomenal - wet burrito with cheese and salsa verde on top. Atmosphere was nice, no Mosquitos outside, el cantarito dip is one of a kind. Wait staff was very smiley and kind. Will definitely go back for more.

This place gets Better all the time. I keep trying different dishes and we come here 3 times a week probably. I just went to the restroom for the first time here and the bathrooms are very very nice and clean. That's a big deal to me. The people that work here couldn't be nicer and more charismatic.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
