We stopped through Dyersburg for a night, and this place was close to our hotel and had good ratings on Yelp, so we gave it a try. It's obviously the local "date night" place in town, as the customers were a lot of couples. The stuffed flounder I had was very good, as was my friend's ribeye steak. Our waitress was fun and made the dinner even more enjoyable. We loved the orange honey butter and bread so much that she gave us a couple of loaves and more butter to take with us!

For travelers who have been around and travel a lot this is average. Overpriced for quality. Temperature of steak and asparagus was hottest I've ever had in my life. Had to let cool several minutes and blow on it just to eat it. $43 with tip for 10oz ribeye asparagus and salad. Take a pass.

Enjoyed dinner at Abe's last evening, while staying in the Dyersburg area. Had the Prime Rib, which was cooked as I requested. Another of my business associates also enjoyed the Prime Rib, while the other indicated the Ribeye Steak was fantastic as well. We had a shrimp cocktail and a dip as a appetizer, both were fresh and well presented and well as tasty. We shared a fried bread pudding with vanilla ice cream ... not much of that dish left either. The bread is wonderful as is the honey butter served with it. Our server was very knowledgeable and present throughout the meal to assist and refill our drinks.

I am giving Abe's a 5 because it's always consistent. You will not get a bad meal here. Whether it's a steak, seafood, or pasta it will be good. I had the prime rib and veggies Friday night and it was good. It was so big I have had 2 meals from one piece of meat!Richard had the Chicken salad it was good but it could have been larger, he was still hungry when we left. Abe's prices are VERY reasonable for a steak house! Mine was 25.99, a bargain! The service is always good and the drinks are served with generous pours, that's a plus. The bar is friendly and the service is great! Shannon is the best bartender, with generous pours and a good attitude you can't go wrong. The bar menu offers a nice variety of choices as well. If you are not a local it will not be long until you feel like you are, the people will make you feel welcome.

I ordered the Ribeye and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I do wish the cut was a little thicker. For the price it was a great place to get a steak.

We overnighted in Dyersburg and looked for a nice restaurant when we ran across Abes Rib Eye. The outside was not that appealing as it appeared to be a pre-fab metal building with some wooden additions. There were few cars in the parking lot, nevertheless we decided to stop. Upon entering the restaurant we noticed the inside architecture similar to the outside and almost no customers. Perhaps it was because it was a week day night and not many people eat out during the period of time. We were promptly seated with 5 other customers already in the restaurant. and presented a menu and that is when we nearly fell out of out seat. The top listed item was steak and lobster at just under $60 per person. The rest of the menu was almost New York City prices. We kept looking for something more reasonably priced since we had no idea about the quality of the food and did not want to spend an "arm and leg" for such unknowns. We finally settled on two of the least expensive items. The 8 small shrimp were priced at $14.95 and the glazed chicken was $12.95. Both can only be considered as small portions. No salad---no nothing! Other steaks more than 22 dollars. Overpriced. Still no customers as we left. Drank water. All prices too high old barn looking actually prefab metal building. Interior deco rustic rather than formal. Black table clothes and maroon napkins. Wicker basket of crackers on each table. Our candle on table only ours not burning The service was average and the food was average and the prices way above average and especially for a small rural town. If we had read Trip Advisor first we could have avoided this experience, as others seem to have the same evaluations for this restaurant.

Love stopping in for good service and great meal when I'm in town. Nice meal but comfortable to take the whole family.

Decent cuts of meat prepared well. The "Lottery Winner's Wine Selection" section of the wine list is epic. Your best bet for a good meal in Dyersburg.

Customer took us out to eat here after work. I had the sirloin and it was best steak I had in a long time. The baked potato and the salad were nice sides. My other colleagues were stuffed as well but in the good way. We should have eaten here the night before but had Mexican instead at El Patio. Personally, nothing beats a good piece of steak. We had appetizers and the fried pickles were better than I had in Iowa. The others were pretty good as well. I especially like the fried shrimp as well but not much to go around.

Not bad but I have definitely had better steak for similar price in other places. Service is best in the bar. Bread is excellent. Bar stools are terrible though.

Good steaks here. Our salads and entrees came out of the kitchen quickly, but it was a relatively slow looking Tuesday night so take that for what it's worth. I did find it a tad overpriced, however. As far as atmosphere is concerned, the outside of the restaurant looks, literally, like a barn. However, the inside is more inviting and smells awesome, thanks to the open grill adjacent to the dining area.

This is a GREAT Steak! We always enjoy their good food! Price to me is fair for the portions that you get. Try the fried bread pudding! Its a favorite! Service has always been great for us!

My wife and I visited Abe's on Saturday evening, 1/26/13. We spent $75 but were not impressed. Our $8 "onion straws" appetizer was oily, the portion size was small, and the ranch dip was nothing special. My wife said her medium prime rib was "good," but "bland." The prime cut was large, but it didn't make up for the lack of seasoning. My medium-well 8 oz. filet mignon was butterflied and, possibly as a result, was dry and overcooked. I've had better filets several times. The excellent small loaf of bread was the most surprising part of the meal! Oh, it was interesting to learn that a house salad is an extra charge as are many "extras" to one's meal. I paid more than $27 for a filet and baked potato with just butter- no "extras." Our drinks were water and iced tea. Our tab for two was $68; the total including tip was $75. Wait staff was personable but could use a little polishing to meet one's expectations when paying a premium price for a steak in Dyersburg, TN. Driving home, we both agreed Abe's was overpriced, with slightly above-average cuts of meat grilled in an average manner, and not worth a second visit since we live more than 1 hour away near Jackson, TN. They open at 5 PM on Saturdays.

Best in town! I visit Dyersburg frequently and had the treat of being taken to Abe's on a recent visit. Do not let appearances deceive - this is the place for beef! Upon entry, the atmosphere is smoky, not from cigarettes, but from the wonderful things happening on the grill, and a sort of 'down home' cafe. The beef is prime and ranges from more than adequate portions to half a cow (or so it seems!). There are also savory seafood items on the menu, but why bother when the specialty is Rib Eye- - do you go to the beach for a steak? The wine list would envy even the most cosmopolitan restaurant and the service is reminiscent of a doting aunt at a family reunion. They aim to please and ensure that you get everything you want - including not letting that water (or other beverage) glass go empty. While the prices may be a little pricey for Dyersburg, the value is there, For a comparable steak (if you can find one) in a larger city, on could pay 50-100% more. Abe's is one of my all time favorites!
