So good!!! Was in the area for work and the place came recommended by multiple hotel staff. My colleague and I both had the fried catfish - delicious and HUGE portions for very cheap. The cream style corn was average, but the fried okra was good and the hush puppies were phenomenal. I would highly recommend you stop here if you're in the area, it's only downside is it's 8pm closing time.

Great, friendly service at this local restaurant! The food was pretty good- my favorite was the fried okra. We happened through town on Fiesta Night, which meant the standard American fare was supplemented by Mexican food options. The portions were big. This restaurant isn't very vegetarian-friendly, as the salads are mainly iceberg without many added veggies. The meat-eaters in the group got barbecue, a burger, and a taco salad, all of which got positive feedback. It was a nice local stop on a long road trip, but not an easy place to find a healthy meal.

It's good for the daily specials while in town. However, you can wait 15 min plus for your special to come out. Weird and annoying if you are in the mood for a quick lunch. I don't like fast food much but I dislike waiting even more. Going to venture out and find another local spot.

Love this place! The BBQ is always great and their prices are cheap. You can get a To-go order of BBQ for 4. Includes buns and 2 sides for on $20. A lot of food for $20. They can be super busy at lunch so it can be slow but well worth the wait. Try the catfish plate. Enough food for 2!

Friendly service and a nice menu selection. Portions are gigantic so be careful when you order. BYOB. Pulled pork sandwich was enough for two. Salad was also very large with mixed greens.

My dad recommended this place while we were visiting them in TN. We met up here for dinner. I ordered the pulled pork and it was phenomenal. The only critique I would have is that the sweet tea is too sweet. I also tried the ribs and were not disappointed here either. This place knows BBQ. I was even feeling under the weather and still managed to enjoy my food.

We were driving trying to find a good place for dinner when we found this wonderful establishment. The service was friendly and timed perfectly. The courses came after the one before was finished, which kept the table from being overloaded with dishes and food. Food was delicious. First place I've ever seen that offered fried cauliflower which I highly recommend. The BBQ chicken was wonderful with the mild sauce and the ribeye my husband ordered was cooked and flavored just right. The banana pudding was delicious and everything was homemade. The decor has a country feel. And the atmosphere is friendly.

Normally I don't review after one meal, but I'm going to give this place my tourist exception as it's along I-40. I found this restaurant very interesting. It's "behind" the Pilot, and very close to the highway, so a decent choice while traveling through. The building is very plain outside and inside. Service was decent when we sat down, but the place filled up quick and I could tell they were a little short by the time we left. The food is what's interesting. It was "old school". You get soup AND salad with each entree. The soup came with crackers, that's normal, but the basket had the old school bread sticks in it. The salad was served in a shaped metal bowl I haven't seen at a restaurant in 20 years. That said, everything was well prepared, and I believe fresh home made. My only minor complaint is that every dish was nearly devoid of salt. This may be a nod to the clientele, most of the people in the restaurant were part of the retirement set. For most items a little salt on the table fixed the problem, although there are a few dishes where that might not do the trick. If you're looking for something other than fast food, give this place a try. Just make sure you use the salt shaker on the table.

Salad with ranch and a full rack of ribs... Yes a full rack. My husband got the potato soup. Salad and ribeye. Perfectly cooked !!!! Even the rolls were awesome. You have to try this.

Why eat at a chain, when you can dine here, and watch how kind everyone is to each other? The good mood of nearby customers wears off on me, and I start to see the best of people. The food is American & Southern fare. The soups are very good, with the French Onion being my favorite. The broccoli side dish is cooked perfectly, so I look forward to eating my vegetables. You can BYOB (or wine or liquor.) The prime rib night (Thursdays) has a slightly different crowd, but is a great deal. Prime Rib, Side, Soup & Salad. If you like spicier creamy horseradish, they will bring you extra straight horseradish to add. I think they just celebrated two years in business. It must be a good two years. Since they have an extra gravel parking lot to accommodate us all! Mexican Fiesta: Tuesdays & Wednesday nights. Prime Rib: Thursday nights (it is really good!)

We were passing through Dandrige at dinner time and needed to stop for dinner, being "yelpers", we looked at the choices in the area... Since we love to try local restaurants, we decided to eat here!! Their specialty is french onion soup and ribs.... 5 stars for the ribs!!! They were amazing!!! Delicious and incredibly tender!! The meat literally just fell off the bones!! It's also served with a little tub of honey which we poured over the ribs to slightly sweeten them! JUST DELICIOUS!!! However sad to say the onion soup was NOT GOOD!! (1 star) processed cheese was used and it to me it tasted like dish water!! The side salad was your generic out of a bag salad mix ....Sorry ! However with the delicious ribs, we had the sweet potato chips which were sweet and crispy which were great . The service was friendly, prompt and efficient ! So.... 4 stars

This has to be the best Bbq ribs, rolls to die for, super cole slaw, wonderful sweet potayoe chips. Can't think of a better place to eat. We will make this a regular stop whenever we travel through this area

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
