I grew up in Los Angeles, and lived there most my life. Lacosta is the real deal. As authentic as home from start to finish.

The food is good, nothing special but good. Tuesday is $1 Taco Day and the Tacos are delicious... Well worth your time . It's a nice little restaurant located within the mall.

Above average Mexican food. We came on a $1 taco special from our resort. Just a meat toco was available, so the time we added beans and rice it wasn't much of a deal!!

After a nearly 2 hour drive from Nashville to Crossville in TN, I was straight up HANGRY. I was salivating and was ready to eat the first thing that came accross my path. After much reasoning I realized jail was not something I wanted in my future. I pulled up at the first sign of a restaurant I saw that was not junk food. The heavenly skies parted and shined rays of light down on Lacosta. It was about 3pm and the restaurant was essentially empty given the time, only 2 other people were feasting inside. Their food looked good. Really good actually. I ordered 2 chicken tacos to go. Within 5 minutes, the nice lady who took my order came back with a massive bag of food. She handed it over to me and said $3.84 please. I don't know if I was more in shock at the fact that the bag of food was that massive or because the food was that cheap. I tipped her well as a token of my gratitude for her promptness. I wasn't sure if that much food came out because she saw the look of hunger in my eyes. Checked into my hotel, ran to the room, threw everything aside and began tearing into my food. Holy guacamole! a giant bag of home made chips, a size-able container of some of the best salsa I have ever had and two MASSIVE chicken tacos loaded with fresh and delicious toppings. One bite into one of those tacos and I thought I had nearly died. They were mighty good. I know I was terribly hungry but trust me that did not really cloud my judgment on how good these were. They were fantastic. I couldn't believe how much food I had, how exceptionally delicious it all was and all for such little money. If you are in town, be it for work or cruising through, do yourself a huge favor and stop here. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Really good salsa and they brought us a complimentary serving of bean dip which my family and I really appreciated. I had never seen a chimichanga offered with crab but this shrimp and crab chimichanga claimed to have real crab meat. I couldn't taste much shrimp which was ok to me because it was a treat to taste that real crab meat. Very good dish.

Like a previous reviewer said this is like Mexican food in Southern California. Really enjoyed the food! The salsa & chips were fresh and good. The refried beans that came with the chips were great. Yummy fresh Mexican food (as opposed to Tex Mex). Will go back when in the area.

This is my mom and my go-to place for lunch every time I return to Crossville for a visit. It's the best Mexican we've found in Crossville and for the amount of food you get, the prices are very good, especially if they have lunch specials. They have beer and wine and good margaritas. Good salsa and cheese. It's not the best Mexican in the world, but it's our favorite in Crossville.

Passing through from the east coast en route to Nashville, we were happy to find this small, lively restaurant. Service was friendly and prompt, food was delicious. My fiance and I shared the Chicken/Steak Fajitas for Two--meat and vegetables were tender, and the portions were ample. I was pleasantly surprised to see beans served with the fresh tortilla chips and salsa. I'm looking forward to visiting Lacosta on our next trip through Crossville!

Was in this area on a recent road trip and looking for a place to eat. Stopped in here due to high ratings and found the food to be pretty good for the price and the surrounding options. The standout option though is the apple burrito! Good crust, but not a ton of it. Loaded with apples, and just the right amount of caramel(?) sauce. So good. Coming from a small town, I had to give it high ratings to keep the cancerous growth of fast-food chains from choking the life out of a place worth going to. I will likely never be back this way again, but it would be a regular stop if I lived in the area.

Good food but the waiter had a hard time understanding what I was asking for. Maybe I wasn't being clear enough, maybe I was too quiet. But I didn't get what I wanted. It was okay though. What I got was pretty good. Not great, but okay. Next time I go there I'll be more clear. Overall a nice place aside from a loud TV.

Passing through town and decided to stop in for dinner. Place was full of locals. We noticed the portions were huge so we split an entree - a steak burrito. It was excellent. Meat of really good quality. Very tasty overall. Very filling.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
