This restaurant food is for those who don't know what Indian food is like. Don't waste your money and cravings for Indian food at this place. The chef does not know the difference between chiken tikka masala and fish fry masala, he uses the same base for both the dishes that has been prepared days in advance. Not every curry dish has cream in it. Being a Indian I can notice the difference. He is fooling customers by claiming it to be authentic Indian. You want some authentic food try flavors cuisine, they have much decent and authentic Indian food at lower price point. My American friends you want good Indian food try flavors cuisine you won't regret it....

This is my daughter's new favorite restaurant. We had a BOGO coupon, so off we went. She loves my butter chicken at home, so I ordered her the Chicken Tikka Masala and for myself, the Curry Chicken. She's also a bread lover, so I got a side of naan. Man, was she a happy girl! (And so was I!) The Masala was mild, but very flavorful and mine had just the right amount of heat (medium). The naan was a big hit - warm, chewy grilled flatbread. Service was very attentive and friendly. It's the kind of place where you actually feel like they're happy to have you there, versus just rotating you in and out. I would recommend if you're in the mood for an Indian fix.

The presentation of the Tandoori dinner is awesome-- it comes out sizzling on a cast iron plate and smells wonderful. My husband ordered this and really enjoyed it. I ordered the madrasi chicken which was good but not as good as others I've had elsewhere. The naan was probably the best I've ever had, and the mango lassi was super mango-y rather than yogurt-y which I liked. Now comes the bad news. The bathrooms smelled horrendous like a backed up sewer. Then we both got sick later that evening. So unfortunately, we will not be back here.

I always love going to Bombay House for "date night" with my sweetie. It's nice and cozy with just the right amount of lighting for a pleasing atmosphere. The waiters are not overly aggressive but still very attentive. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the big selection of vegetarian food! The prices are about equal to other Indian restaurants in Memphis, and worth every penny. I usually order the Aloo Matar because of the potatoes, peas and spicy tomatoey richness but sometimes order the vegetable curry because of all the veggies in it i.e. cauliflower, bell peppers, potatoes, onions and peas. The Garlic Nann is an ideal accompaniment to the saucy goodness of the meal.

My wife and i loveeee the food here, the employees are nice too. Dinner is great, but i recommend the lunch buffet, you can get a bit of everything they offer and its all yummy.

Came in for the lunch buffet. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Excellent food, polite and attentive wait staff (my water glass was never empty). The naan they serve with the buffet is excellent, nice hint of garlic and goes well with the vegetable dishes. Definitely recommend the tandoori chicken on the buffet. Keep in mind that I'm new to Indian cuisine. So the tastes were mild enough for someone like me and the variety appealed to my adventurous side. Great deal for 9 bucks. I'm definitely coming again!

I have just finished the most amazing rogan josh I have ever eaten. The entire meal was phenomenal, actually. The service here was wonderful, with everyone being attentive and the food arriving quickly. The girl had chicken vindaloo, which was also fantastic. All together, it was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely be returning.

Best Indian food in Memphis! I can't wait to come back and try their lunch buffet out.

The service was very attentive. My favorite was the lamb meatballs. I should have pushed myself to try other dishes available, but I filled up on them as they were delicious!

When I have extra $$ I bring the family here for dinner. We love it. I usually get the Lamb Saag and the husband gets the Mixed Grill. The garlic nann is oh so warm and good. Fish Pakorras are nice and crispy. Mulagawtawny soup is also the best in Memphis.

I've written this before -- my husband, my best guy friend, and what seems like anyone that I meet for work wants to have lunch at an Indian restaurant. It's not my thing -- I must have janky tastebuds. However, this particular restaurant doesn't knock me out with the smell, and the chicken tikka is decent. And, really, the service is so nice, that I feel guilty almost, that I don't dig this type of food. It's a nice place if you're into Indian food -- the quality is good, the prices are reasonable, the place is clean, and they offer a buffet.

I made it for the lunch buffet. The best North Indian lunch buffet in Memphis. I have been there so often that the waiters greet me like family. I will go there again when I return to Memphis for work.

Ordered to go, good garlic naan, good coconut chicken curry medium heat (don't remember it's Indian menu name) big chunks of chicken super tender and very good Nothing that stands out I've eaten at a lot of Indian places and have a hard time telling the difference between them all, wish they gave me more rice I got a huge thing of curry chicken and a tiny Chinese takeout paper thing of rice

Best Indian food in Memphis, hands down. We go here once or twice a month. Their Kormas are to DIE for. My fave is the lamb. My boyfriend gets the Chicken Mushroom every time. Buffet is awesome. Great service and clean atmosphere.

Standouts: malai kofta, chicken kebabs Good: lamb meatballs Meh: saag paneer, gulab jamun By far the best Indian restaurant in Memphis. I went with my family and future in-laws for their lunch buffet, which is a good value at $9. The food was so good that we booked them on the spot to cater out wedding reception. The lunch buffet food was mild enough for my spice-averse Southern family to enjoy, but flavorful enough for my Indian in-laws to approve. Bombay House did not water down or cheapen the flavor quality of their lunch dishes as you see in other buffets. The malai kofta (balls of potatoes and vegetables in a tomato cream sauce) was the consensus favorite for being creamy but cut in with flavor from the tomato and spice mixture. Bombay House adds cream to their saag paneer, so it reminded me more of an Italian or creamed spinach than saag dishes I have had. The chicken kebabs were served with onions and grilled peppers marinated in tomatoes and spices, which made the kebabs pop, so don't forget the side veggies!

Excellent restaurant! Reminds me of my favorite Indian place back in Denver. The lunch buffet is perfect and all of the food has excellent flavor. Will come back again!

First off, I LOVE Indian food. It is my top favorite type of food. So, when I visited here last night I was really excited to try their food... a friend even suggested it to me, but it turned out to be a nightmare. I ordered naan bread, Indian tea, mango milkshake, and vegetable biryani. The beverages were okay, the milkshake too sweet and the tea was slightly bland, but I can get over that. However the biryani was shear disappointment and an actual joke. Biryani I'm used to is made with pride and love, it's aromatic, and VERY flavorful. What they served me was mush that a beginner would try to cook from an Indian styled dish in a box you find at Target or Kroger! Even my friend who's a novice when it comes to Indian food grimaced at the blandness and mushiness of the food. Needless to say, I sent it back without telling them why I was disappointed. I packaged my naan bread and decided to eat it as leftovers, but to my amazement, on the last slice HAIR was found on my bread. Really?!?! Hair?? I probably won't be returning, like EVER!

There aren't many Indian places on Memphis to begin with. So when I heard about this place I had high hopes, since Bhaarat and Curry Bowl had been very good. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsala, Lamb Korma, and Plow rice. Everything tasted good, and service was great. It was just the flavor were muted when compared to the other Indian restaurants. When I ordered my Chicken Tikka Marsala, I asked for spicy. The waiter asked if I as sure. I confirmed that I was sure. The actual spice level was not above just regular black pepper. I love spicy foods and if it doesn't give me the hiccups, it's not hot enough. Lol I would not go back, just because I feel like I'm eating my meal without the real spices or seasonings.

OK.. So the husband and I wanted to try something new and had a buy one get one coupon to top it off!! Was greeted and seated promptly..ordered shrimp curry and it was ah-mazing!!! The husband didn't stomach it so well!! So much for our adventurous night....smh

Bombay house doesn't really look super fantastic when you walk in, but it was amazing. We started out with vegetable samosas, which were absolutely splendid. I ordered the vegetarian meal. I was extremely pleased with the vegetable curry and relieved that everything really was mild (I am a gigantic wimp). My boyfriend got the tandoori chicken and loved it. It was an excellent experience and we'll likely return.

This is the closet Indian restaurant to me and its one of my 2 favorites in Memphis. Its a small buffet for lunch but well worth it. I absolutely love the naan, lamb meatballs (the sauce is the winner), and aloo tikki. The lunch buffet is usually mild. I come here at least once a month (try not to eat out too much). You also can get the lunch buffet to go. They give you a container to fill up and some naan and its the same price. Not weighed or anything.

Passing through town on a road trip and found this from yelp reviews. We were not led astray. Tamarind was well flavored and spicy, samosas were a little bland. Tika Masala was perfect. Masala chai was perfect. Service was good. Ambiance was nice. Wish this place was local to me so I could go back and try more of the menu!

I'm breaking up with you, Bombay house. I used to brag about you to my friends, bring new friends around, and tell the other Indian restaurants I visited casually how great you were. Something has changed. Did you replace an old chef? The food and the service have definitely plummeted since the good times we used to share. The paneer bhurjee has been almost flavorless the last two or three times I've tried it. My water stayed empty for 40 minutes; you passed my table once and asked the table 2 down how they were doing and snuck back to the kitchen. I usually come on weekends when your tables are almost full, but this time there were only a few tables. I hate to do it, but I'm changing my loyalties.

Bombay House sits discreetly on Germantown Parkway, in a strip mall setting, with curtains covering the windows. As you approach, your first inclination is to ask, "Oh, is it closed?" The curb appeal creates a partial judgement on what to expect when you walk in the door- and you would be only half right. Once you walk in and your eyes adjust to the light, or lack thereof, you see the large murals on the wall: the Taj Mahal and its reflective pool, regal tigers in pose, and stoic elephants sauntering through the scene. The booth to table ratio is decent, and arguably better than most, considering there is always a large comfy booth ready to be plopped on. First things first, before you even look at the menu, order the garlic naan. The garlic wafts from the bread to your welcoming nostrils like a tentacle or come hither cartoon finger. It arrives at your table, doughy and warm, with bits of basil tossed on, and glistening with just a sneeze of oil. Proceed to chow down while you peruse the menu. Now, the largest inconsistency with Indian restaurants is how to define "spicy"; some use a number scale while others prefer universal terms we all understand. When you initially order they will ask how you want it served: mild, medium, or hot. Despite how generic this may seem, keep the heat mild or medium. On a scale of 1-10, hot is an 11 and is reserved for brave souls. If you are feeling timid about how hot you want your food, you can always ask for "hot sauce" on the side and they'll bring you a dollop with a small spoon for you to throw on your plate if mild or medium are too modest for your taste buds. Everyone has their flavor, but when it comes to spice, you want to start from the bottom and work your way up. At Bombay House, the staff is always attentive, helpful, and eager to top off your drink- alcoholic or otherwise. The food arrives in charming, small serving bowls that have a nice detail to them and rest on a stand that houses a candle below it, keeping the food hot and steamy while you pile rice on to your plate. If you don't feel like changing out of your sweatpants, they also have take-out; a lot of traffic coming and going while you dine in will be order pick ups. Last, but not least, you can also take advantage of their lunch buffet in case you want to stuff your face after that month long vegan fast you went on for that girl you like even though it didn't work out.

I FINALLY FOUND THE INDIAN PLACE THAT SERVES SPICY FOOD! I am super excited because everywhere else seems do serve spice-less (yet still tasty) food. I got Chicken Tikki Masala to go at 9:30 at night and it was great. The to-go came with all the stuff you get before the meal which I didn't expect. I wish they had given me more basmati rice but I will survive. It still tastes great with brown rice. They also give you enough naan that if you want to just scoop it up with the naan bread you totally can. It comes with enough for about 4 meals (for me anyway). I told them to make it hot hot hot and it was wonderfully spicy. I love it because even when the spiciness lingers, it isn't painful. It's just tasty! Favorites: - Chicken Tikki Masala Ok: - Butter Chicken

This place is always consistently good. I love the old man (I'm guessing the owners dad) walking around to fill up the drinks. It seems like a nice family owned establishment. The garlic naan is so good!!

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants of all time. This is also one of the most underrated & unspoken of restaurants in the Memphis area. As I go here only for the buffets on Sunday afternoons, here is my general experience. Wait time: On an average day, none. Atmosphere: I'm not Indian, but if I had to judge, it doesn't get much more authentic than this. The staff speak in their native language, Indian music videos are playing in the background, and a painting of the Taj Mahal is located on the wall. Service: Excellent & friendly! They always make sure your drinks are topped off and that you are comfortable. Food: Amazing. Everything from the tandoori chicken to the vegetable samosas to the Indian dessert is amazing. The food is full of flavor and a little bit on the heavy side because of all the spices. Overall experience: 5/5 If you love Indian food or are a Memphis native, this restaurant is a must try, especially on a Sunday afternoon.

I LOVE this place! I have been eating here for over 10 years, possibly up to 12. Their food is absolutely outstanding. Saag, vindaloo, tikka masala, korma, tandoori, you just cannot go wrong! It's even better when you order your food spicy. Very friendly, too! There is a reason these fine folks have been open since 2002.

This is really good Indian food. Great prices - where can you get a great meal for 2 for $30.00 ? The tandoori chicken was delicious. The service was very good also.

Hands down the best Indian food I've ever had. I told our server that we drove up from New Orleans and came straight here, and they pulled out all the stops on service. We ordered damn near everything on the menu (just like last time), and left totally totally stuffed with overflowing boxes of goodness. Love this place!!!

  • Brian W.

Different, but ok. Not my style of food, but the friend I was with who eats here frequently loves this place and goes here often. I think my reason for only 3 stars is that this type of food is so different from anything I've ever had. In usually open minded but couldn't get into this place. That said I definitely think it's worth anyone with an open mind trying out!

This strip mall restaurant located between Dress Barn and Honey Baked Ham has many five star reviews so I could not wait to try it out. I was previously married to an Indian doctor and cooked for a group of his lonely male friends every night for years. Apparently this cooking skill did not go unnoticed as I received 17 marriage proposals from his friends when he went back to Himachal Pradesh to teach. I curried everything and could even make complex, time consuming desserts that most Indian women buy like we do chocolates. Three hours for burfi, no problem! The buffet is small but includes a salad, dessert, and entree selection. The lamb meatballs are a half ounce and no longer on my diet but smelled wonderful. There is a selection of mostly chicken and vegetarian entrees. When an Indian restaurant lists nuts on the buffet it normally means cashews which I am allergic to. Desserts are more apt to have almonds. The buffet is $8.95 during the week and comes with a basket of heavenly fragrant garlic naan laden with parsley. I could eat them as my meal alone! Service is fine but all the entrees lacked the subtle spicing as well as heat that I enjoy. For Memphis tastes this is fine but it would not work in the Bay Area where many Indians work for Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Ebay, Netflix, and other tech companies. They prefer extremely spicy entrees, naan, puris and paranthas on the buffet line and a greater variety of everything.

4 of us ate there last night we shared meals. Except the shish kabob. Only two of us had that, we are both sick. Throwing up and well coming out other end on my part. Other person is my friends wife so cant confirm but she stayed home from work sick. Didn't get details but sounded the same. I would suggest not going here. Update: called the manger to let him know two people were sick. He blew me off saying no one else called in. I pointed out he just got there. He said fine fine we will take care of you next time you come in. I told him I didn't want anything just to let him know either his kitchen staff under cooked or the meat went bad. He said its fine no one else called in. Then hung up. So I alerted them to the situation if anyone else is sick please let them or health department know Update 2: Thursday my doctor confirmed food poisoning. He said it was from meat I ate on Sunday. I had a banana for breakfast and salad for lunch. No doubt it was from here.

Very expensive for the quality of food. The food was all bland and blended together on the plate. I left feeling sick to my stomach, and the service was less than average. I usually like Indian food, but this was disappointing.

The place is clean, and the staff is polite. Not the most amazing Indian food I've ever had, but their lunch buffet is an excellent deal, great for a quick meal.

The service was very good. The ambiance nice. (Gotta love Indian top 40). The precursors to the meal were delicious! Think chips and salsa on steroids. Two thin plate sized freshly crisped crackers with two spicy dipping sauces. I had the SAG chicken served with jasmine rice. I love spinach, so I loved it. Next time I am in Memphis I shall return.

A friend recommended Bombay House and since we were in the neighborhood, we tried it. It was... ok. The service was excellent, staff very friendly - no complaints there at all. The food was not bad, it was just mediocre. I had Lamb Pasanda Nawabi and Saag Paneer. The lamb was fairly tender and mildly flavored. The saag was bland and really too smooth - too pureed, maybe. My husband, a vegan, had the 2 daal dishes: Maharni and Turka. He asked for HOT and apparently got what he asked for. However, he said they tasted almost exactly alike. He also got Roti, since the naan is not vegan. It was good. We much prefer Flavors, especially the Saag. Bombay House is probably a good place to start for those who don't like strongly spiced food (I don't mean heat, but flavor) or are not familiar with Indian food at all.

My wife and I stopped in here on a whim a couple weeks ago. We have been searching for good Northern indian food since we moved here, and by golly we found it! We ordered samosas, two orders of Chicken Tikka Masala, and two naan's. Simply put, we were blown away! This food is as good as an establishment we frequented in Queens, NY (Jamaica, Queens to be exact). We cannot wait to go back!

Hands down, the BEST Indian food in Memphis. Great service and their Naan bread is always piping hot fresh out of their brick oven. I highly recommend the Chicken Curry and Lamb Meatballs along with the Tandoori Chicken. The lunch buffet is a great value and awesome way to sample amazing ethnic food!

  • Katie D.

The best Indian food in Memphis! I'm a sucker for their shrimp curry. The chicken curry is great as well, as is the chicken tikka masala. I've never been during the lunch buffet but if you're new to Indian food (or are just indecisive about what to order), it's a great option. The service is fantastic. The waiters are friendly and very attentive. It's a wonderful place to either eat in or get food to go.

Food here is great. We eat here about once every other month. Only draw back I would say is the small selection but all the selections are tasty and the price is decent so no complaints here.

They serve wonderful Samosas in buffet and also on regular menu as appetizers. The buffet also has tasty tandoori chicken and spicy chicken wings. The menu and the taste features North Indian cuisine. Overall, it is reasonable (price wise) and very tasty. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for trying out Indian food in Memphis. The buffet is worth tasting it.

Had lunch on Saturday service was very disrespectful and poor, usually you receive naan bread after being seated... I had to get up find someone and ask for it, never came, get up again and ask for my bread again...then a waiter/cleaner put a tray of dirty used dishes and glasses on my table right next to me and left it. I got up and asked someone to remove the dirty dishes...they said sorry sorry sorry and then removed them. The person that put the dishes on my table didn't even bother with it. VERY DISRESPECTFUL! I notice that Indian customers get first rate attention...I am not Indian...enough said. Food was good.

  • Sharleen C.

Excellent food and service! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. Chicken korma was seasoned perfectly and not to spicy. Both my husband and I really enjoyed this place.

    (5)
  • Leo B.

For Memphis, this is a 5 star. In any other city, it would be a 4 star. They make quality Indian food, the service is good, and if you go for the buffet it is reasonable. The buffet would not cut it in a market with more indians, but it works for Memphis. The Lamb meatballs is their best dish, and is on the buffet. Chicken Tiki is good, but the Chicken Tiki Marsala is better. The naan is excellent, one of the best in Memphis.

Great restaurant! I live in Dallas, but every time I'm home visiting family this is a must on our list. We've been coming here for over 2 years now and the food is exceptional! Great samosas! The chicken vindaloo and chicken korma are my favorites. My only complaint is that the place is starting to look tattered. They definitely need to change/clean the tablecloths! It 's hard to enjoy even fantastic food on a dirty table.

This is my favorite Indian Restaurant in Memphis (surrounding area). The buffet has all the classics. Curry chicken, curry veagetables, butter chicken, spinach paneer, lamb meatballs. Mix them all up with some rice and raita and put them on a garlic naan. Delicious! I love the atmosphere with Bollywood playing in the background. Staff are always attentive making sure we had enough water and naan. Good service, good food makes a 5 star rating for me.

I was so excited to try Bombay House after recently finding out Flavors was closed. I was lucky to be in the area and saw this place and decided to give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did!! My husband and I really enjoyed eating the lunch buffet. They have a wide arrange of selections. Their chicken dishes are really good and they also served lamb meatballs- something I haven't tried before, but liked it. The service was good and they will bring you fresh naan topped with garlic oil and seasonings. I didn't think their dishes were spicy at all, and had lots of flavor. I would definitely go back again!

Just tried the lunch buffet here. A great option if you're new to Indian food or just want to sample a lot of dishes. I seem to only eat Indian food when traveling, so I've been meaning to try Bombay House for quite awhile. I'm happy to say I'll be going back for more. Naan (flatbread) is served warm from the oven with your drink order. This version is garlic-flavored, which I really liked. The lunch buffet had plenty of food, including a small salad bar and three dessert selections. The buffet included tandoori chicken, chicken curry, chicken masala, a lentil dish, vegetable curry, a cauliflower roasted/potato dish, fried appetizers made with potatoes & peas, sag paneer (yummy spinach--one of my faves), basmati rice and maybe a few things I'm forgetting. All the food was tasty; none was overly spiced. I' love spicy food and I've had Indian food that even made my eyes water plus, I've had dining company unable to eat it due to the spice level. I love that this restaurant tones it down -- I think it's a wise move. So, you don't have to be an adventurous eater to try Bombay House or to invite people along who've never tried Indian food. If you order from the menu, you can select your spice level, though so if you like it spicy, just ask! The restaurant was tastefully decorated and very clean. Service was prompt and professional. It's located in the Kroger strip mall (on the north end) off Germantown Road at Dexter. Lunch buffet for two people (with non-alchoholic drinks) was $22.

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Memphis. The service is always great - you go here a couple times and you're going to recognize the staff so I'm pretty sure it's family owned. The food is fantastic. I love the Karahai lamb, lamb korma, chicken tikka masala, keema matar...I could go on and on. My husband loves the fish vindaloo and the rogan josh and we've also found the tandoori dinner to be a great deal. Even my 2 year old boys can't get enough of the garlic naan. The bottom line is we've never had something we didn't like and we've never had bad, or even so-so, service.

Bombay House is a good restaurant with homely food. The restaurnant itself is relatively clean and free of any unpleasant smells. Glasses, plates and cultery were clean. Service was adequate. The buffet offered a small, but better-prepared selection of dishes and desserts. The dishes I liked are as follows. Aloo ghobi was a balanced melange of creamy potatoes and cauliflower in a tart tomato-based sauce. Lamb meatballs were a little bit overpowered by thick sauce. Saag paneer was excellent:mild, creamy and comforting. A tinge of grassy astringency from spinach emphasised natural sweetness of paneer. Ras Malai was delightful. A touch of sugar, spices and nuts intesified various textures and conditions of milk. Naan was superb. Some people may find food in Bombay House bland. I for one think that paring down spices allows other ingredients to add natural taste dimensions to dishes.

Went here for the lunch buffet - the service was good and the food was excellent. My mango lassi seemed a bit too sweet, but every dish I tried on the buffet was great. I will probably go back sometime soon for dinner to try their chicken tikka masala (CTM). If the CTM is excellent, then this will be my favorite Indian place in the Memphis metro area.

Excellent find! I recently came here for the first time for dinner. We started off with the samosas. Crispy (but not greasy) on the outside with a savory and well seasons veggie/potato filling on the inside. For an entree, I had a veggie masala and my husband ordered a lamb vindaloo. We each had an order of the naan (not too soggy or doused in butter/oil). Portion sizes were ample and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Dishes were flavorful and rich tasting without being oversalted or swimming in butter/oil. I can't wait to try out the lunch buffet to sample some more of their other dishes. Word to the wise: They let you choose the level of spice for their curries. Their "spicy" is genuinely spicy!

My husband and I love Bombay House, and we go there frequently. We used to live in the apartments that were literally across the street, and we've since moved to apartments a bit farther away, but still make the effort to go as much as our wallet allows us. My husband sticks to either the chicken tikka or the chicken tikka masala, and loves them both. I've ordered every item on the vegetarian part of the menu, and my favorites are the aloo gobi, paneer masala, and the malai kofta -- you really can't go wrong with anything, though. They have vegetarian, non-vegetarian and tandoori complete meals that come with several items, plus bread and dessert. I usually order this, as it tends to be a better deal -- though still pricey at $14.95 apiece. The lunch buffet is a great deal, and generally very delicious -- but I'm not a huge fan of buffets in general, so I much prefer to go at dinner. I almost always have leftovers to take home, and it's even better the next day! Wholeheartedly recommend.

Hands down, I'm a fan of this place. I am not a resident of Memphis, but i am a Tennessee resident and I can say that there are not many great restaurants in Tennessee for Indian or Pakistani food. My husband and I were staying at a hotel and the hotel manager recommended this place. I am so glad we took the recommendation. I had palak paneer, which is one of my favorite foods - it was amazing. They spiced it just right. My husband had the chicken curry, which was great as well, along with naan (yummy) and kheer (fabulous) for dessert. The bill came out to about $40 for 2 people, including tax and the tip. It is not a quick and cheap place to eat, but you get your money's worth. I'd recommend it.

Today was my first time trying Bombay House. My husband and I went for lunch today. Inexpensive buffet for weekend lunch. Great variety in food choices. The servers bring you a basket of fresh naan. The chicken tikka masala was perfectly seasoned. If you enjoy Indian food, I am sure you will like this place. (It's behind the McDonald's on Germantown Pkway)

Beautiful place! As in...pretty nice interior, excellent service, good portion size and DELICI0US food! I go here so often that these servers know me by name I'm sure. I can't help it, I need my Indian fix and there is no better place for it in Memphis than here. I've eaten here about 15 times and every time have received the same level of service and great, perfectly spiced food. Check out the lunch buffet...least expensive Indian buffet in the city and it has all the favorites. The rice pudding is the best, make sure you try it!

Short story: Yummy. Long story: These guys give great service. They are polite, and the food is tasty. For under $10, there is a lunch buffet. It starts at 11 and goes until 2:30. The earlier you go, the better the food is. On Sunday it can be incredibly busy, but there's never an unbearable wait. The mango apple dessert dish is only served on Sundays, as is this garbanzo bean concoction that reminds me of baked beans (but tastier). My favorite dish is the spinach and cottage cheese dish, which is served every day. (I always thought it was tofu, but nope...) Try the mint sauce with the flat bread. Don't forget the Indian tea. They serve it with a spoon, which can be used to take off the film before drinking as it cools to a don't-burn-the-tongue temperature. While the staff is mostly a family affair, and they appear to be Indian, here's a secret. One of the guys (non-family, I assume) is a closet Latino.

I love Indian food but I have only eaten it a handful of times so I pretty much order the chicken tikka masala everywhere I go and this place had the best, butteriest one that I've had. I can't speak for any other dish here because I havn't had them but the chicken tikka masala is right on.

we've only tried the buffet and it was delicious. a good amount of vegetarian entrees, a few chicken dishes and a lamb meatball, deserts and a salad buffet. all the food was fresh and they constantly refilled the trays. great, clean atmosphere. waiters were great since they were pretty good at refilling our water and the free naan breads at our table. our favorite was the rice pudding. craving that hard right now.

Every restaurant has a bad day. The last time we had dinner here the food was tasteless. That's pretty hard to accomplish with the amount of spices in the cuisine. Everyone including the 3 Indian Nationals in our party agreed. I've eaten here several times. Hope the quality isn't going down hill.

Their lunch buffet has an excellent selection of delicious dishes. It was nearly empty on the late Saturday afternoon I came here for lunch, but every buffet section was filled - and as fresh as could be expected for Indian food :) I'd definitely visit this location again when I crave nan and masala.

OK.. So the husband and I wanted to try something new and had a buy one get one coupon to top it off!! Was greeted and seated promptly..ordered shrimp curry and it was ah-mazing!!! The husband didn't stomach it so well!! So much for our adventurous night....smh

Hands down the best Indian food I've ever had. I told our server that we drove up from New Orleans and came straight here, and they pulled out all the stops on service. We ordered damn near everything on the menu (just like last time), and left totally totally stuffed with overflowing boxes of goodness. Love this place!!!

Excellent food and service! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. Chicken korma was seasoned perfectly and not to spicy. Both my husband and I really enjoyed this place.

Great lunch Buffet. Have only had dinner a few times and it was years ago. Well worth what they charge and is very good. Smaller buffet but everything on it is good. Well worth a stop.

The bottom line is we've never had something we didn't like and we've never had bad, or even so-so, service.

we've only tried the buffet and it was delicious. a good amount of vegetarian entrees, a few chicken dishes and a lamb meatball, deserts and a salad buffet. all the food was fresh and they constantly refilled the trays. great, clean atmosphere. waiters were great since they were pretty good at refilling our water and the free naan breads at our table. our favorite was the rice pudding. craving that hard right now.

Their lunch buffet has an excellent selection of delicious dishes. It was nearly empty on the late Saturday afternoon I came here for lunch, but every buffet section was filled - and as fresh as could be expected for Indian food :) I'd definitely visit this location again when I crave nan and masala.
