I had the shrimp and avacodo salad. It was a well balanced creamy salad. I would order it again and again!

I went tonight for an early dinner. I decided to try something besides the fish tacos which are my favorite. I was trying to say between the two salmon dishes and the ahi tuna. I chose the tuna because I wanted to see if this place could match anything did I grew up with in Florida. Once the dish arrived, I saw the presentation is very boring and plain. You should be able to tell that from the picture that I included. The tuna was done correctly to a medium rare, but there was a lack of seasoning and presentation with the tuna. It tasted dry as did the risotto. This was a $22 dish I would not recommend to anyone until they can present this well. I should have stuck with the best fish tacos in this region.

Love the bread they serve. I don't like the atmosphere, I feel totally uncomfortable. Wait Staff has a huge tendency of being snobs to customers they do not know personally. Very pricy and the food is not that good. Basically, if you are a Tennessee Tech University student or grad it is basically a hang out for them. Heaven forbid if you do a call in order, you will wait forever!!!

I called in at 9:45 and was refused a to go order bc the manager said that the kitchen closed at 10. I said "it's 9:45??". She said that her clock said it was 10.

Never had a bad meal there but I love their Philly Cheese sandwich. The weekend night ambiance is good. They have a variety of bands that play on different nights. The one drawback is that they don't have mixed drinks.

High score for this place because we happen to go on a Saturday afternoon before the servers started BUT we still received great service and super tasty food. We traveled from Ktown and wanted to eat lunch prior to a lacrosse game. Everyone, 13 of us, had a good meal, at a good price in a friendly environment.

I can understand why college students would like this place, but we had an overpriced and disappointing meal here. The cheese forcaccia they bring out is delicious and very filling, salads are okay, but we ordered rack of lamb and had to send it back because the cook dumped what seemed like an entire pack of salt on it. Our server was nice enough to take one of them off the bill and chef made another for our party...but it was not very good for the $21.95. My fried okra and fried green tomatoes were very good, but cried out for some remoulade or other dipping sauce. My dad's grouper special was not fresh. Hubs fries looked soggy and his French dip was also very salty. We skipped dessert needless to say. I guess I can only recommend this place for drinks and socializing.

I love Spankies! I love the restaurant during midday and evening AND the live music bar at night. They don't allow smoking inside, but have a huge window so you can still see the band on the patio. Quick walk from Tech at lunchtime. Never been disappointed :).

I had just cracked a rib tubing, but the fish tacos were so good, I toughed it out and cleaned my plate!

Only been to Spankie's for lunch, about a handful of times now. It's always quick, I've tried several different items on the menu and everything has been pretty delicious. Menu rotates with daily specials, but my favorite dish, by far, is the french dip. One of the best french dips I've ever had anywhere. I'm not a fan of the complimentary cheese bread, but most people are, so can't fault them for that..

I miss going to this place with friends and coaches. Decent food, drinks well made, and a great college environment. We usually walked so parking wasn't an issue.

Love that place. The ambiance plus the food. At night it comes to live with all the Tennessee Tech students having a drink there. Try the cajun shrimp!

College atmosphere, live music, liquor, beer and food. Food ok, but live bands make up for the pricey run of the mill bar food. Wait staff rather sparse. The place is rather small, outdoors is not bad if you are packed in like sardines on the inside. Not a place to go eat with family (on a weekend) unless you plan on bumping elbows all night. Parking was not terribly bad, but if you arrive late, good luck. Also, be wary of the "five-0" peepin for Swervin' Irvins. Hope that helps. Otherwise, probably one of the only FUN hangouts in the area. Ya dig?
