Great food and wonderful atmosphere. We had a committee meeting here and enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend

I was told the food was outstanding, and while it's good, very good occasionally, it's less consistent when the owner's not present, and mistakes were made. For example, the brushetta was served with raw bread, not toasted hard or firm bread as it normal, and ruined the otherwise delightful appetizer. Great beer and good wine selection, deserts were consistently wonderful, and reasonable prices. I'm a fan, but just short of five stars.

This place is a trip. The staff remind me a little of the soup nazi on Seinfeld, in a good way, mind you. A significant amount of the patrons are "not from around here" in a good way, also. There is robust conversation, regulars, scattered intellectuals and perhaps an occasional derelict in the crew, but again, in a good way. The craft beers are good, the food is good, the service is good, but if you're not a regular you may be left wishing you knew the secret handshake. Interesting atmosphere. Enjoy!

We stayed in town for one night and found this place to be absolutely delightful. Fantastic craft beer and bourbon selection and great food too. The design of the space was cozy, authentic, and well crafted. The staff were professional, attentive, and very friendly. We can't say enough about this unexpected treasure of a find. If Cookeville is on your journey you should definitely stop by and have Beard pour you a cold craft brew!

I am not supposed to have a favorite place in Cookeville, TN but after 2 meals I do. The burgers were great. The pork sliders so tasty. The 14 craft beers would bring me back. I'd avoid the grilled cheese as average and not gourmet. Friendly bar staff. Nice local vibe. A few beers I might never get. Again. I loved the pork sliders tonight!

Great beer selection from a wide array of breweries! We came to Fr. Tom's while visiting a friend in Cookeville. He and his friends said they come here on a regular-ish basis and really enjoy it. We came really for after-dinner drinks, and so I can't speak to their food menu, other than to say, what other people were being served looked REALLY good (especially this red-tortilla quesadilla looking thing I saw)! They had table service till 10, and the bar was open till 12. Great service, and the beers we had were really good to! Fun atmosphere as well, very "pub". Will definitely return next time I'm in Cookeville if only to try out their menu!

I haven't been here very much, so I got quite excited having date night with my husband. I was even more excited when I saw Ahi Tina on the menu. My husband tried to discourage me from getting it because the test of the menu was pub God. I didn't listen and ordered it anyway. The Pentagon was nice but unfortunately it was overcooked. We sent it back and left.Ahi tuna was overcooked. Last two visits, food orders were incorrect. Frustrating.

I'm rating this as a 5+ in Cookeville standards but as a girl from a foodie city, only a 4. I was very impressed by the bar selections and knowledgeable staff. The scotch and whiskey selections were especially impressive. My critiques, as I truly believe this could be an excellent gem in the area, are for a few items. First the food- it was ok although limited, but with such a small selection I expect every item to be really good. Our food was hit and miss. The decor was an odd mish mash of potential pub character but with no flow or coherence to the artwork schema. Two other small pet peeves: cheap looking lighting (however the exposed ceilings were excellent) and eccentric music (90s Casey Kasem top hits flashback?). I'm definitely excited to visit again in the next year and see what their sophomore year brings!

An oasis of excellent beers and delicious food in a landscape overrun with chain restaurants. The happy hour cannot be beat if you are looking for an affordable pint of Calfkiller to help you relax at the end of the day. The food arrives fast and the waitstaff is friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending meal or a drink. I have visited many times since it opened summer 2012 and have yet to drink the same beer twice thanks to its excellent offerings. Where else can you get a bottle of Old Speckled Hen in Cookeville?

Yum and yum! 14 beers on tap--including locally-brewed Calfkiller--and the sandwiches are on pretzel buns. I had the neuben (like a reuben) with a side of sautéed mushrooms. Others in my party had burgers--the Moose and the Pearl, which came topped with bacon, Brie, and bourbon-soaked pears. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Try this place!

We had a fine time at Father Tom's Pub. Our party of six tried several things, including the cheese plate appetizer with generous servings of fresh local cheeses and some addictive little frozen grapes, and the big warm pretzels with both spicy mustard and beer cheese for dipping. The apps go great with a large selection of craft beers on tap. We were also impressed with the whiskey selection as we moved on to dinner. I had the fish which was crispy, flaky and perfect, and we tried most of the burgers, too. The burgers come on pretzel rolls and a lot of choices in toppings. There's attention to detail in everything, including the side dishes. The broccoli salad side was especially good. We finished with a peachy champagne dessert that had pound cake croutons--yum. The service by Natalie was outstanding and the atmosphere is perfect for hanging out with friends and enjoying great food.

As a Cookeville native who moved away years ago but still comes back a couple times a year, I was quite impressed with this place when I visited over Christmas. It's nice to have a cool pub in town that actually serves good beer instead of just the yellow fizzy crap that dominates the beer market. We just had an appetizer with our drinks but everyone we spoke with said the food was good. The atmosphere was quiet but friendly and service was good (although our server could have used a little more knowledge on the beers they were serving). I look forward to going back on my next trip to Cookeville.

What a great experience! My boyfriend and I were driving though on a road trip and really needed a place to decompress and get some good food. We both ordered beers (special on drafts!) and got some of the pretzels for an appetizer. They turned out to be pretty large! Three big pretzels with mustard that was quite hot and some DELICIOUS beer cheese soup. I got an extra little cup of the soup to dip fries in. The pretzels ended up being big enough that we split a burger. We got the one with bourbon pears and brie and it was GREAT! Really hit the spot. Parking was simple and the ambience was very chill. We'd definitely return if passing through again.

I live in Atlanta, and our family planned a weekend getaway to Cummins falls and Burgess falls. We asked the employees at the hotel for recommendations of a local, non-chain place to eat. I'm so glad we came here! THIS PLACE IS WONDERFUL! It's truly a local pub. If you think bud light is what beer should be, don't waste your time. If you appreciate the difference between a Hefeweizen and an IPA, pale ale, stout- this place is for you! The bartender was the perfect mix of personality and knowledge. Every thing we tried was on spot. The food was delicious and authentic (nothing from a can or box taste). The only down side was that our food did seem to take quite a while for a Reuben and a burger, but we were also famished from hiking waterfalls all day. The conversation that took place with all the locals at the bar truly made us feel like we fit right in. This place may be 4 hours from Atlanta, but it sure feels like home. Truly worth the stop. I wish we lived closer!

The Pearl is my favorite burger, ever. Ever ever. A DiSorrono Sour is a must. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt.

Great environment. Great food. Great craft beer selection. And they have flyers for $7.50, which includes 3 half-pint beers. A great way to sample a few new beers. I highly recommend the Calfkiller Brewing beers as they're brewed about 15-20 minutes from here.

Father Tom's is one of the few options available for a classy night out in Cookeville. Most of the food is a bit heavy for my taste, but the cheese plate or pretzels with beer cheese soup are both good choices. Has a good selection of craft beers, IPAs, stouts, etc. You can do a sampler, which I believe is about $6 and allows you to try a selection. The atmosphere is cozy and ideal for a quiet night out with friends or family.

Cookeville needs FTP. Excellent beer and booze selection, amazing Happy Hour specials, and the atmosphere is just right.
