Great restaurant. The best Mexican in Cookeville. Service is fast and friendly. Great salsa and chips. I highly recommend their chicken fajitas for two.

Great restaurant - enjoyed a meal on the outside enclosed patio. The fajitas for 2 was more than enough for two. We had enough leftovers for another meal the next day. Crisp chips and fresh salsa while we were waiting for the meal. Server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Only surprise was that the flan was served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. We were expecting there would a thin caramel sauce served over the flan.

We were so lucky to stumble on this restaurant on a recent visit to Cookeville. After doing the long hike to/from Cummins Falls nearby we were hot, tired and really hungry and we took Willow back to our hotel - lucky for us! We saw this place and would honestly have been ok with most anything on one level, but boy we were happy to get such good food and service. The fresh, brewed iced tea was wonderful and the food was delicious. The chips and salsa were so fresh - the chips were warm and the sals was so good with a nice kick. My friends had nachos and we shared a chicken quesadilla - so good! I had a tamale and enchilada w/beans & rice - it was all really good. Our waiter was fantastic, the food came out FAST and we were not disappointed!

Chicken is delicious, beef is delicious and the staff is phenomenal! I've tried every Mexican place and town as this is by far my favorite.

We stopped for lunch at Cinco Amigos because of all the positive reviews and we were not disappointed! Service was quick and friendly and the prices were great for a student's budget. The food was also surprisingly good since I am always weary of Mexican food outside of texas. The salsa was spicy (not crazy spicy) and my cheese chille relleno was cheesy! Vegetarians shouldn't have any issues finding food here! Also, it shows the measure of an establishment when the waiter runs up to the light where you're waiting to go to return your credit card. I am super appreciative and glad to not have had to go through a potential panic attack.

Loved this place! We had been driving all day and just wanted to stop somewhere to eat and relax. This was perfect. Good was great and out quick. Waiter was great. The bathrooms were IMMACULATE. They even had a great diaper changing station. Prices were good. Just a heads up- this place was loud. Didn't bother us, but might matter to some. It was a Friday night, so maybe it isn't like that all the time.

Our absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in Cookeville. They have a very extensive menu, reasonable prices, and the typical Mexican restaurant atmosphere. We go about once a month and service is always great and servers are attentive, food is always hot and fresh, never have had much of a lengthy wait to be seated, food comes quickly. Everything I've tried is good but my favorite is the quesadilla grande with shrimp and hubby really likes their fajitas. Good chips 'n salsa.

I've lived in south Texas All my life. Right next door to Mexico and the best Mexican food from real Mexicans. So, when i moved up here i was septic about any Mexican good. I tried el tapatio and it sucked! This place is the best I've had north of Texas!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
