Definitely the best place in Columbia if you want a good steak or a burger. It's not the fanciest place and it could use a deep cleaning but they consistently put out the best steaks (and great burgers) in town. They're about the only place in town that's not afraid to give you a proper rare steak instead of something that's teetering on the edge of medium like you'd get at Legends. Try the Texas toothpick appetizer.

The waitress was wonderful and very friendly! However, our sour cream was expired and the food was subpar... I wouldn't eat here again.

We stopped at Betty's at around 5:30pm on a Saturday. There was one table seated. We were quickly seated. Menu choices range from bar food to steak and shrimp. My daughter and I each got the 12oz ribeye. Son got the burger and my wife the chicken wrap. The steaks had great flavor and were cooked to medium. They are not the thickest steaks, but good. My wife liked the wrap which came with a spicy smoky ranch. All in all good food. If your looking for upscale, this is not your place. If your looking for good food in a race themed bar restaurant, with attentive staff....this'll get'r'done.

What a great hole in the wall local restaurant. They're attention to detail includes handmade blue cheese dressing and hand cut ribeye steaks. Posted along the wall are all of the local paper "Best steak in town" awards (year after year) and they were not wrong.

This may be away from the main road. It is worth the look. The staff is great and helpful. The food is fresh, nothing frozen. The special meat meals are worth the wait. They marinate the steaks and burger for three days. If you ask for something special, they fix it no problem. You will not find a friendlier or quality place in Columbia.

Don't let the looks of this diner keep you from trying this place. The food is great! The rib eye with Bettys special marinade was wonderful. Cooked to order and very flavorful. The burger, also marinated was one of the best I've ever had. Juicy, flavorful with just the right amount of crispy crunch, and topped with cheese, lettuce, pickles, mayo and a huge "right off the vine" beefsteak tomato. Super onion rings. Great beers on tap. Yumm

I live down the street, so it's very convenient. Food is always good and the staff is friendly. They have breakfast all day which I like. The spaghetti is one of my favorite dishes there.

My wife and I were traveling and stayed on a Saturday night in Columbia. We had no idea as to where to eat and through Yelp decided to try Betty's. We probably found it only due to the fact we used GPS. Otherwise, it appears to be pretty well off the beaten path. We got there and kind of wondered what we were getting into. After all, there is nothing fancy about this place. It appears like kind of a combination road house and biker bar. We are sure happy we took the chance. We had the 2 for $22 special. What a deal! 2 great meals with side dishes and a brownie for dessert. Our waitress was the best. I wish we weren't about 700 miles away or we would be going there this weekend. If you want fine dining in a fancy place this is not the place for you. If you want good food at reasonable prices and nice people...go to Betty's.

Most horrible wait staff I've ever experience! The waitress had to retake our order 3 times because she was so high on god knows what that she could hardly walk. I ordered a steak sandwich and when it arrived, it was medium on one end and then still raw on the other, like it was just hanging off of the grill!! Then the waitress brought us three checks (we were a party of 2) all with the wrong items on them and then a blank one that was zeros out with no food items listed. When we asked for our corrected checks, she pretty much laid on the table to get close enough to whisper to us that she was going to pay for it out of her own money! It was insane how she was behaving. We were the only table there at the time and when we got up to leave there was no one in the building because all of the staff (mgmt. included) outside smoking and goofing around. I will never go back!!

Betty's used to be wonderful. It was a little seedy but it had atmosphere, the people are always nice, and the food was awesome. The last couple of years though the place really needs some attention! It looks really old and worn, maybe even a little dirty. The food is still good but not awesome anymore. I don't know if they switched owners, staff or both. I keep going back every few months hoping for awesome again.

The burgers are good, but their patty melt is fantastic. They have some of the best curly fries around. The atmosphere is like a typical diner, but they have some tables overlooking the Duck River.

It's all in the sauce! We eat here for lunch occasionally. I usually get a burger or steak and they are fantastic. The marinade used for the beef here is delicious. I was in the mood for something different on my last visit so I ordered the bourbon chicken sandwich. When a restaurant is known for something like great burgers and steak the other menu items are usually lacking the wow taste. This was NOT the case here. Not only is their beef marinade great the sauce on the bourbon chicken was amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly and topped with bacon, mushrooms, and cheese. Now I will have a hard time deciding what to order. Who knew a place could be great at beef and chicken? Our waitress was delightful. Her name was Crystal and the service was excellent. I grabbed a menu on the way out for the days I don't have an hour to come in and eat I can order something to pick up.

Happened by and the place looked intresting and it was lunch time, so we stopped in. Boy where we glad. The burgers are the BEST around. We've driven down from Nashville, about an hour, just to have a burger. It's a real joint, the staff is frendly, and it's just a good experence.

Okay, here's the deal. In 2002, my college studies led me to Columbia, TN for a summer internship. My boss took me here a couple of times, and I have to say this is the BEST STEAK I have ever had in my life. Period. Since I left Columbia, I've been around the country, did a stint in the Navy, and I now live in Chicago, IL. I STILL have cravings for this place NINE years later! I'm not sure what kind of marinade they use, but it's pure heaven, and it's cooked perfectly. Next time I visit Nashville, I'll have to make a day trip down there for lunch. Not even joking. Sorry if this sounds a little over the top and dramatic, but this is the best restaurant I have ever ate at.

My steak was okay, but the salad had bac-o-bits and the baked potato came with "whipped spread" instead of butter and was quite dry. I'm pretty sure the roll was from a bag and not baked on site. The restaurant itself could use a cleaning, and the furniture is very cheap and worn. Our waitress was friendly enough, but overall this restaurant wasn't worth the visit for me.

Been here twenty minutes now and have yet to order drinks. Well see how long it takes to actually get food. Haven't even been spoken to by a waitress yet. Usually good but today is horrible. Finally got drinks after an hour and talking to the manager got our food about a half hour after that.

Great burgers, a must try especially if you're coming in for Mule Day!
