This place is ok but has some phenomenal sushi. The food can be great or terrible depending on the day and time so I don't take the gamble of getting entrees from here. For example, I've gotten the Brazen Fool fried rice twice and once it was amazing and the next time it fell flat. I assume that I would need to tell the waiter to make it spicy so I can enjoy it. Buuut even if you ask for spicy that doesn't mean they will make it spicy. The Orange Pepper Chicken is supposed to be spicy already and I asked for them to make it super spicy and it wasn't in the least bit. Even my friend who is usually very sensitive to spicy stuff said it wasn't spicy and that it was funny how that happened when I specifically requested spice. Bah. :/ Lee Kan's Velvet Roll is the best item on the menu and tastes wonderful with and without soy sauce. I highly recommend trying it. To Try: Hunan Style Stir Fry Loved: - Egg Drop Soup - Firecracker Shrimp - Fried Rice for the Brazen Fool (ask for spicy) - Hawaiian Chicken Fried Rice - Hong Kong Style Rice Noodles with Chicken - Lee Kan's Velvet Roll - Snow White Princess Shrimp Ok: - Orange Pepper Chicken (not spicy even though advertised as spicy) Hated: - Asian Curry - Broccoli Stir Fry with Beef (or with Chicken) - Hot and Sour Soup (better with soy sauce) - Lettuce Wrap - Kung Pao Chicken

I want to like this place better than I do, but they don't even get staple dishes right. The "traditional" fried rice is dirty looking and dirty tasting, for one thing. I found the Fried Rice For The Brazen Soul interesting, but not enough to lure me back.

If you love Sushi...then why are you reading this?!?!? Why don't you already know about Lee Kan's?!!!! They have the best rolls in Collierville. I only just realized I have never left a review here! Shame on me! Their ingredients are super fresh. The owners and staff are SO friendly and eager to please. The restaurant is nice, big and clean. I strongly suggest the signature Lee Kan velvet roll. It is AH-MAZING! Seriously...you will need a huge appetite or multiple people to eat this baby. The Bomb roll deserves it's props too...loaded with piles of spicy crab meat on top. The snow white is also a person favorite. Also, you can ask to add or remove items from your rolls if you so desire...they are very easy to work with here. oh..so back to LK's... My drink never gets under half full and my belly always leaves SO full. It is not what I would consider expensive for sushi..I mean..$9-$12 for HUGE rolls is not high. If you are comparing to gas station or mall sushi..then yea. But for the quality the rolls here are very reasonable. On to the other food- Their rice is always cooked perfectly and they have a wonderful array of fresh delicious veggies in their meals. Many of these places stick to broccoli, carrots, maybe a few others...LK's has loads of veggies in their dinners. The prices are a bit higher on this end, but I will say these plates are large enough servings for 2 large people. So really considering one dinner serves 2 people...$13 for 2 beef a broccoli dinners? Not bad if you ask me. *People tend to get sticker shock but they do not take a few things into a acct when dining out. 1. Food Quality/Freshness 2. Portion sizes 3. Atmosphere/Service quality At Lee Kan's all of those are a 10 so with that in consideration the price tag is really not high at all. Also, notable- the soups, wontons, noodles...all of it are prepared perfectly and always good. I have had many many items on the menu and most all of them I would recommend. The cooks pay attention to detail and always make the plates and presentation lovely. Oh! don't forget the donuts!!!! mmmm...the soft, fluffy puffed pillow of sugary deliciousness.... it is what dreams are made of. GO GET A LEE KAN VELVET ROLL IN YOUR BELLY NOW!

After a long day of work I had a taste for Asian stopped by Lee Kan's and was seated and greeted as I walked in the door the service was quick and the food was good and hot.

This is my first time ever eating here.....and I have to say it was AWESOME!!!! I didn't know what to order but I read the reviews and everyone was talking about the Velvet Sushi Roll and all I can say is it was on point. Everything I had was really good and authentic. Alot of people are scared to eat Asian food because of how it looks but everything here is excellent. The egg rolls have jumbo shrimp inside something that I was not expecting....but watch out for the HOT MUSTARD!!!! I will be returning really soon!

Surprisingly pretty good. We had the spicy green beans with roast pork, the Kung Pao Triple and for starters the pot stickers. Very nice waitress who was surprised that o could speak fluent Chinese.

The food is delicious! Lots of variety for vegans/vegetarians. Service is also excellent and very friendly. We came as a family with four adults and a 4.5 yr old. Food arrived quickly. We were seated quickly. Order was taken quickly. Food was served quickly. Sauces are flavorful but not overly heavy. The vegetables were cooked to perfection - not overlooked. Serving sizes are huge. Only criticisms were that two of the dishes weren't served as hot as we would have liked and one of us noticed the tofu was a bit bitter. We'll definitely come again soon!

We walked in an had to wait to be seated while take out orders were taken care of. Very disorganized. We were seated in a booth that felt like it was broken down and way too low for the table. Very uncomfortable. We ordered orange chicken and sesame chicken. The two dishes were basically identical with the exception of a couple of orange peels in one and some sesame seeds on the other. No flavor, very blah. Egg rolls tasted like they were frozen. We won't be back.

I like Lee Kan - both the place and person. The food is good, not great, but nice for traditional Chinese cuisine. They do some fun things with sushi... Their big seller is the "velvet roll" a fried conglomeration of stuff that has been I officially dubbed "the Big Mac if sushi". Take a stop, say high to Lee and grab some Kung Pao with a Velvet Roll. You will be glad you did - After all, they have been selling Big Macs for 40 years.

Love this place. Recently had lunch and it was amazing. Ordered the Kung po three. So good, and the portion was enough to take half of it home for another meal. Lunch come with soup, I had the hot and sour, it was good, and hot! I've eaten at tons of Chinese restaurants and lee Kans is always my go-to place.

Upfront Confession: I'm from NY and this Asian restaurant doesn't cut it. Tried hard to order a sushi platter...only sushi pieces offered. Others recommended the Velvet Roll...but I wouldn't. It was a mess of a deep fried sushi dish and unlike anything ever offered. Gripe: No beers on tap are offered 3 Stars might be generous. Note: tucked away in shopping mall and not visible from main road. PS If you think this review with pics is useful, funny or cool, I'd appreciate your feedback by clicking below.

The food is superb! Especially the sushi. Their fried rice is also great. I recommend the jasmine roll as a #1 sushi choice. And the dynamite is a close second. The service is alright with a smile. Exceptional restaurant.

The service is TERRIBLE! They are some of the most rude people. Which is unfortunate because some of their food is really really good. The only reason they got two stars is bc I'm in love with their General Tso's chicken. Good thing I can get it to go!

Well, I'm officially stuffed. I think I tried everything on their menu today. Ci Ci the Sushi Goddess does a fine job. Among many other things, I tried the second best sushi roll seller; The Dynamite Roll. Very tasty and a beautiful presentation. Service was five stars today. As I said in a previous review; the sushi bar is small but it has it's advantages. I'm tired and I just wanted a nice quiet place to unwind and eat some good sushi. That's what I got until I started a conversation with the owner. We started talking about chili garlic sauces and it just went from there to everything from Vietnamese Pho soup to Chinese Clay Pot cooking. I have a picture of a highly recommended chili garlic sauce he suggested which I'll be buying some soon. I use it on everything except dessert...just doesn't go well with cheese cake:) Dean D

The one thing that keeps this place from being rated a four or five star is consistency. This place is just so inconsistent in terms of food quality and service. The restaurant itself is reasonably nice, dark contemporary asian style interior with soft lighting and music. Restaurant is located in a strip mall and the interior appears clean and well maintained. We were promptly seated and the waitress took our drink order. For appetizer we ordered firecracker shrimp and won ton soup. Firecracker shrimp was nicely done, deep fried shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy dressing. Had a nice flavor and heat. Won Ton Soup was said to be a bit salty but delicious. For the main course, I had the Kung Pao chicken, which was a bit disappointing. It had a nice crunch and appearance but the abundance of peanuts kind of overwhelmed the dish plus it seemed very bland, not spicy. Others ordered various types of sushi such as the velvet roll. The sushi received good reports. I was really tempted to order the Fried Rice for the Unwary but I decided not to. Next time, maybe. After the initial attention, the service kind of slowed a bit and we had to flag the waitress down for drink refills, no biggie. I gave this place a three star because I am not ready to be called a fan of this place but it wouldn't take much to get that extra star.

The food was good. Nice lunch portions. I did NOT like the egg drop soup! It had corn in it and lots of it, it tasted more like corn soup. Yuck

I don't think I'll be back to Lee Kan's anytime soon if they are going to rip off their workers. See the recent article in the Memphis Flyer. Payback - Wage Theft Ordinance could mean justice, and back pay, for unpaid workers. memphisflyer.com/memphis…

We loved this place. Had the Velvet Roll and Hawaiian Rice for our appetizers. Velvet rolls were so good we ordered another round to take home for the next day. Our entrees were Happy Family, Grilled shrimp and scallops, and Sea bass. The HF had a mixture of everything...chicken, beef, pork, shrimp and scallions. The sauce was a brown sauce that was very tasty. Shrimp and scallops were good - shrimp were the best. Nice and buttery. Sea bass was so light and flaky it melted in your mouth. The sugar biscuits were a nice end to the meal. We could have forced another order down but contained ourselves. We will return with the entourage in tow.

I love their food. Especially the "roast pork fried rice for the brazen fool". It is not for the weak if you can't take spicy. I have tried other dishes as well. It is all good. Grew up in NY, lived in San Fran for a year and now am in Southern Cali. This food is on par with what I have had elsewhere. As far as Memphis and surrounding area, it is my favorite place to go for what I consider "Chinese" food.

Wonderful service, beautiful place, loved the quiet but warm atmosphere. I had egg drop soup to start. Very buttery, but bland. I like green onion with mine and to be able to taste the broth more. Next, spring rolls. Very crisp and perfect temp, but inside seemed to have been steamed/cooked too long and it was mushy and bland. Next my husband and I shared the General Tso's chicken. Menu said spicy, but not by my standards. I honestly have had better Geneal Tso's chicken from Walmart deli. The fried rice was pretty good, but where was the onion? I really like some kick to my Asian food. My husband didn't like his meal either. Everything was fresh, just BLAND! He said his last trip was better, so like other reviews have said - it's hit or miss.

Went the other day, sans child, for a meal with the wife in a place that doesn't serve food that comes with plastic toys. They were annoyingly disorganized. We had to wait for about 10 minutes to be seating while we stared at 6 empty tables and 8 people behind the bar not doing much of anything. The usually delicious hot and sour soup was off that day as well. Meh... another visit like that and we probably won't be going back for a long time.

The Velvet Roll! I could eat 3 at one time. A deep fried roll = genius. The General Tso's chicken is great too. Perfect spice. The staff is friendly & quick. I was a regular. Give it a whirl.

Pretty good place. Scorpion green beans are great. Like a previous review, the only drawback is consistency. They have a really good spicy crab tempura that one day is great and another day just so-so. Not enough to keep me away but a concern. Very friendly staff helps.

Food was.good, firecracker chicken, chicken fried rice, hot and sour soup was all tasty. However, in the end we were charged 20% gratuity for the family of three with $40 total bill! The reason we were given was, we checked in @ 9pm on Friday. In our 9 years in Collierville, we never faced such an customer unfriendly policy!

Lee Khan's restaurant is a mix of semi-upscale Asian decor unremarkable service and boring food had the Hong Kong style fried rice noodles and it was nothing to write home about which is depressing due to the fact that it is supposedly one of their signature dishes it was definitely not worth $10 paid cut the price in half and then maybe it would be worth it.

The food here is pretty good. The service here is not so much. We have been here several times and never found them to have exceptional service. This past weekend they messed up one of our dishes and did not put the pineapples or cashews in like the menu said. They then brought them on the side and the pineapples were actually mangos. We were disappointed in the lack of service provided, and no apologies were even given.

I'm never going back to Lee Kan's Asian Grill. Today was the last time I went there. The reason is because their customer service is the worst I have experienced in the US. I had a to-go order. I've ordered several times from there and have never had issues with the order. Today, the order was missing one item. I live 40 minutes away from Lee Kan's Asian Grill. After I reached home, I noticed that one fried rice was missing! I gave them a call and told them about the missing fried rice. The manager told me to double check the bag. I told the manager that I had just one bag and the bag was empty and there wasn't anything else in there. I told the manager that I was 40 minutes away and I wouldn't even be able to drive there. Besides, the tornado sirens were going on and the weather was very bad in Memphis. I told the manager that I worked in the Collierville area and asked if they could give me credit for the missing fried rice. The manager said that if I came to the restaurant the same day, they would give me the fried rice. I asked the manager if he was expecting me to drive 40 minutes one way for a fried rice in the tornado weather. The manager said there was no other option and they couldn't give me credit the next day. I was shocked when I heard that response!! I'm never going back there.
