My favorite BBQ joint in Chattanooga. Try the ribs and best fried okra in Chattanooga.

A great place for a quick bite. I've eaten here several times at first because it's close but now because it's good bargin food. A fast food place that has variety and a great price. The service is good too. If you're in the mood for a hamburger, you won't be disappointed. Huge!

Highly recommended. I had the pulled pork and cole slaw and both were great!

TLDR: Looks like it had promise but woefully under-delivered. Service is nice and prices are reasonable, but ultimately not good Q when I went. Smoker is wood-fired, so I might go back to see if it was an off day. They need to reduce their hours if they have to reheat their Q. Full Review: The parking was sort of weird and disjointed and the building is situated weirdly in relation to the other buildings in the lot. The outside of this restaurant is shack-like. I noticed as I drove up there was a guy tending a big ol' smoker in the back. I saw a bunch of wood in the firebox so I had high hopes about the food. As I walked inside I noticed metal walls, fluorescent lights, and black and white checkerboard tablecloths. It felt like the high end car shop from a tv show. There were a lot of folks from blue collar to white collar in here eating for lunch. While I didn't care for the decor, I liked that it was a wide swath of folks. The service was decent and pleasant. I ordered the combo platter, which normally has chicken, but they let me sub brisket. I got added to the brisket the pulled pork and ribs. For sides I got mac and cheese, which came recommended by the server, and okra. The plate came out fairly quickly. The first strike against the food was that all the meats came slathered in mild bbq sauce. I'm a firm believer that your barbeque should never have visible sauce on it when it makes it to the table. Your meat should stand on its own without sauce. The second strike was that the sauce wasn't even that good. It was way too sweet and killed taste of the meat entirely. The third strike was that the meat was bad anyway. The pork was dried out, definitely sitting in a warmer or steam table pan too long and probably reheated. The other two meats could have been reheated too. There was no detectable smoke flavor in anything. The hot sauce was quite good - vinegar and peppery, though, not super hot. The mac and cheese was pretty good but was typical creamy mac and cheese. I mixed a touch of the hot sauce into it which elevated it to great status. The fried okra was crispy but under seasoned. The prices were reasonable. I might try it again in case I was just getting day old bbq, but honestly that doesn't seem too acceptable to me. I've said this before, but if you can't offer good Q during all your open hours, you should limit your hours to when you can.

I have driven by this little place numerous times and finally decided to stop..the smell is always wonderful!...It is definitely the best bbq in Chattanooga... I was pleasantly surprised by the price and the customer service too..I went thru the drive thru so it couldn't have been any easier either!

I ordered a rack of ribs to go (not on the all you can eat day).I struggled to understand why they put what they did in the package. Was there no quality review before they put it out of the kitchen. Ok, I did not see in on a plate in the restaurant and I supposed they do not put this out for people in the restaurant to see. Yes, it was at least a full rack. However, they bordered on disgusting. I am not sure how old they were but some were overcooked to leather like consistency. Others were overcooked and dripping off the bone. Some of the bones just crumbled into mush as they were bitten into (very unpleasant and had to be spit out) i don't know what they did to achieve this!

NoogaQ has nicely sized portions of food and sweet tea Nice waitstaff and an easy to find (but perhaps difficult to get into/out of) location. The atmosphere here is... interesting - NoogaQ's building is metal with a few small tinted windows in the front. It probably makes it easier to keep it cooler inside, but the downside is that there's not much natural light here. It makes for quite the florescent atmosphere... kind of like a cold cubicle office... There are a few TVs that usually have sports on, which is nice. Of the dishes I've had here, I like the pulled pork plate the best. Nicely loaded with pork and some toast - makes for a nice protein-loaded dish -so healthy! ;) Speaking of eating healthy - they've got good (fried) okra - get in your vegetable fill! The ribs here weren't my favorite, so next time around I'll probably try the pulled beef or beef brisket. Certainly not a bad spot, but not my favorite for hangin out because of the atmosphere/lighting.

Very tasty and good. Ok atmosphere if you don't mind eating in someone's garage. Service was great and prompt and the server Morgan made it a pleasure. I will give it 2 stars and another chance.

Very good bbq, all home cooked items and pulled pork was definately hand pulled. Had a pulled plate with potato salad and baked beans, all very good!! Will come back when in nooga again.

We are new to the area and wanted to try this place. There is no sign indicating what time they close but apparently they close at 9. We walked in around 8:40 but we were not greeted by anyone and the girl at the cash wrap didn't seem to want us there. All tables were dirty and we sat at the cleanest one we could find. Finally the girl started to grab menus to serve us but we chose to leave. She clearly did not want to serve us and wasn't interested in our business at all. She looked more annoyed than anything. Before grabbing menus for us she turned off the open light and locked the door. I don't know that we will attempt the place again.

Didn't even eat! Went in 15 mins till close. The girl at the counter clearly didn't want our business as she flipped the sign to closed, left us sitting there for five mins. And then walked by staring at us. When we got up to leave, she responded with "y'all can stay." Uh yeah no! It didn't seam like our business was wanted and so we left. Not sure we will ever go back to be absolutely honest! They close at 9! And yet at 8:50 they place the closed sign up. Probably shouldn't let a teenager be in charge of running the front. Especially one with a snotty attitude!! Horrible. Heard the food was decent. But I dunno.

SKIP Sticky Fingers, etc. You want good local? Here you go. Not understanding the 1 and 2 star reviews. As always, you should keep in mind that people rarely go online to write a compliment, but will rush to complain...so take everything with a grain of salt. EASILY some of the best, consistent BBQ in chattanooga. Are there better places? Yes. Are those places I will go? Not usually. Here's why: Nooga Q is: 1. FAST (I place a to-go order every day. Its always ready in 5 minutes) 2. REASONABLE (on average 25% cheaper than standard prices) 3. TASTY (I challenge you to order their BRISKET, which is really hard to find at other places! $6 for a sandwhich PILED HIGH with thick, juicy, cooked to perfection beef brisket! Yum!!! I get it every day, and will continue to do so if they keep things the same) 4. The owner and her waitresses are HOT. But don't hit on her, shes married to a coast guard guy (thanks for your service). Can't help but mention that though. You won't be disappointed! Skip over those lowball reviews and I think you'll agree!

I've driven by this place for months and never noticed. Being new to Chattanooga, I've been to and been disappointed with the well known BBQ places (Sticky Fingers and Rib & Loin). I didn't have high hopes for the other BBQ places. Nooga was cheap, quick, and great. I had the beef brisket, with baked beans and mac and cheese. They were all stellar. My wife had the pulled pork and hush puppies - also excellent. For two massive plates and 3 beers it was $25 before tip. We would definitely go back.

Best BBQ north of the Tennessee river...in Chatty, that is. Nooga Q has your standard array of soupy mac 'n' cheese, fried okra, Sysco brand French fries, and toasted white bread. But everything is cooked well enough to hold up some pretty dern good pulled pork. Or opt for the fried catfish which hits the mark. The place could use better ventilation, but it's comfortable and always plenty of space. Be sure to peruse the family photo wall while your food is in the fryer.
