I have been to a few Ruth's Chris restaurants and I was looking forward to dining at this one. I ordered the cowboy ribeye and it was just ok my friend ordered the petite filet medium well and it came out bloody rare...think I heard a moo when she cut into it. Manager was on spot and took it back for additional heating which was a failure. They then butterflied another filet it looked burnt to a crisp. I understand a restaurant has growing pains but this was unacceptable. To not offer any comps was bad service and I was charged for a cocktail I never ordered. Give this place a year to figure it out.

While in Chattanooga for business I decided to hit up Ruth's Chris. I was seated promptly and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I ordered a iceberg wedge salad, ribeye steak and broccoli. The salad was very fresh and good. The broccoli was cooked to perfection. The steak was cooked med-rare just as I had ordered. The flavoring on the steak was excellent, however the steak was very greasy. I eat ribeye all the time and it's my favorite cut (besides Picanah), however it normally is not so greasy. I think it may have been because of the high temperature plate they sever the steak on. It's possible the steak due to it's continuing to cook on the plate, it leaves a very greasy layer on the plate. I would certainly go back Ruth's Chris, but I would also consider other options as well.

Does not live up to the Ruth's Chris reputation and hype. We had an 8 PM reservation and waited over 30 minutes even though the restaurant was less than half full. Cocktail was weak and watered down. Steaks were good, but the side items were cold or served late. There are many better restaurants in Chattanooga that have excellent steaks with good service and reasonable prices.

We gave them three tries. Each time, same deal. Food is good, but over priced. (I can make better at home). But the service was poor each time. It is suposed to be "an experience". It is an experience...... In frustration.

Pretty good steakhouse for the area. The cocktail server was definitely sub-par; but I'd have to nitpick to explain why, so... My girlfriend ordered the lamb lollipops, which was spot on for the price. I ordered the filet [MR] with the oscar add-on. I was very satisfied with the filet, but the oscar was no where near the up-sale (very dry crab with little "oscar" on the steak). To top it off, my girlfriend ordered a whiskey neat, which was wonderfully completed with a fruit fly on the bottom. The bar keep did quickly remedy the problem and pored another at no charge to either,...but this is still VERY disturbing for such a self acclaimed establishment. I was told there was a notified problem/epidemic in the area due to a warm winter and rainy weekend. However, (due to it being New Year's Eve) we were at three/four other bars by the end of the night and suffered no such protein in our drinks. That said,...we've eaten at Vegas several times, around the country in a plethora of fine dining areas, and downtown Chatt. herself. While I can't directly complain about the food, albeit, it was generally par for the price. I must strongly recommend hitting up the other downtown Chatt. locations (especially if you're from out of town), before you spend the same money at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

My husband and i had dinner at RC today it was a great experience my first time eating there and it was all delicious and our server Eric made it an even better experience he was very attentive and explained meal and drink options to us. The food came out in a very timely manner and cooked as we asked . We recommend the ahi tuna appetizer , the filet and lobster meal and the whiskey bread pudding and peanut butter pie if they have it

I was very excited to have a R/C open in Chatt., however my excitement didn't last long, our whole experience was lack-luster at best! The location in Nashville is absolutely on point, the best steak in the city. Believe it or not, Carrabbas has one of the best steaks around, I had the Tuscan and it blows away what R/C has to offer.

First time at Ruth's Chris , and loved it. Food was great. Service was great. Drinks were great. We were well taken care of and very happy with our experience. We will definitely be back.

This particular location has only been open a few weeks, so when friends suggested lunch, I accepted the invitation. We were welcomed warmly and seated immediately. Our server advised that we dined on the "first day of lunch" (07/15/2013). She kept our water and teas refilled promptly and was courteous. I ordered the Scallops with summer succotash. This dish was $16 and small in nature. There were four medium sized scallops served on a bed of succotash with a drizzle of a sauce that very flavorful. Not spicy. The dish was very pleasing and I used the bread to finish the remaining sauce. One of my lunch mates was celebrating a birthday, so there was a complimentary bread pudding. It was large enough for four ladies to have 4-5 bites each. With the dessert, I ordered coffee. The coffee was excellent. Someone ordered a cappuccino which came out cold, but when it was brought to the server's attention, a new coffee was immediately prepared. Having read he previous reviews and considering those patrons were less than impressed, I paid close attention to what others ordered. From what I can tell, it appeared as though staff took those poor reviews into mind. I enjoyed my lunch and have no problems or concerns to report. Management (the guys in suits) stopped by to thank us for our patronage and then again to inquire as to our overall satisfaction. Keep doing that RC.

Not just for special occasions but it's perfect for them if you desire! The atmosphere was extremely relaxing and the service was superb. Both my wife and I were treated with the utmost respect and our server, Eric, was extremely nice and informative. The food came out in proper intervals to ensure everything wasn't on your table at once and made to perfection. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We will be back for sure.

Thank you for your reply! I added a star just for that. I love Ruth's and eat there ever time I travel to Chattanooga. I posted my comment because if I were the GM I'd want to know about my customers experiences to fine tune the service.

Absolutely pitiful!! Overpriced, poor wait staff, and unconcerned managers. The one and only time I've been there, or will ever eat there again, they were out of the nightly special I wanted. When I inquired as to how that happens, the manager rudely told me that he could have it for me the next day. Really?

Having dined at many other Ruth's Chris, both franchise and company owned locations I have been looking forward to a local one here in Chattanooga. My wife and I made reservations and dined here on a Sunday evening. First all the new location is really nicely decorated and as a brand new restaurant everything look great. The booths offer a nice touch of privacy and although it is in a hotel the restaurant is segregated from the lobby such that you don't get the feel of dining in a lobby such as is the case in Atlanta and Huntsville. We both took advantage of the classic menu with her picking the mixed grill while I had the full size filet. I had Gumbo for my appetizer and she had the salad. Both were excellent. The dressing which I assume is made at each restaurant is really nice as I have had several times before.M When dinner arrived the filet was sizzling as it should and was a sight to behold. 12 ounces of USDA prime beef with not a trace of fat visible. Upon first cut the medium rare steak revealed itself as full of flavor and very tender. I have dined at many, many premium steak restaurants through out the USA and simply put nobody does beef like Ruth's Chris. This particular Filet was perhaps the best one I have ever had, anywhere. The creamed spinach was also delicious. Did I mention how great the steak was? Meanwhile my wife was enjoying her mixed grill with the chicken as the standout. Its hard to imagine that chicken can be this good but it may be the best thing on the entire menu. With the very reasonable price of the chicken it is by far the best value on the menu. Frankly they could charge 50% more for the chicken and I would still be happy to pay for it. She had the braised tomatoes as her side and they too were delicious. With the classic menu a desert is included and I selected the bread pudding and she choose the berries and cream. The bread pudding is huge and though delicious they could make it half size and include a little ice cream and it would be nearly perfect. Service at ay new restaurant is always a concern but within 2 minutes of being seated I knew we were I good hands. She was very attentive and this location also uses ipads as an option to the paper menu which I really liked because you can get more details including photos of each dish. Overall this was a great experience ad thy meet every expectation we had in a fine dining atmosphere. I cant wait to go back.

First trip to Ruth's Chris in Chattanooga and compared to the location in Birmingham, I was impressed. Very nice decor and the presentation was outstanding. The staff was a bit overbearing but it was a slower evening for dinner. Once it picked up, we could finish a sentence without interruption. The NY Strip was very good. I love the hot plate the steaks arrive on. Reminds me of fajitas but different...bad analogy. We ordered salads, sweet potato casserole and cream spinach. Sides are sized for sharing. Desserts were creme brûlée and apple tart. The total was not bad for the quality and amount of food. I would suggest for special occasions but not a regular hangout.

As ALWAYS fantastic meal! I had the ribeye MR and my wife had the filet M. We both had a side if creamed spinach. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. My Bulliet Manhattan was made just right. Our server was Heather and she was very attentive and absolutely pleasant. Very rarely are servers both, but Heather was! We were staying at the Embassy Suites which was conveniently attached to this location. :)

Went to Ruth's for their Happy Hour, great prices on food and drinks and food was wonderful. The service was mediocre at best, bartender/waitress who waited on us was not very friendly and there were only about 4 tables being served and couple people at the bar. Had to wait a long time for drinks and was not checked back on. Ordered another appetizer and it never showed up I said forget it. Another bartender/waitress removed from our bill. I was hoping for a much better experience, isn't happy hour at Ruth's supposed to entice new customers and give them the same exceptional service as the dining room. Sorry Ruth's wasn't impressed. J Alexander's has my vote.

Had dinner there last weekend. Steak was just ok the sides were well below average. Service was very good, the restaurant is very nice but there is much better food in Chattanooga. Overall, underwhelming.

I was very excited when I heard a Ruth Chris had opened in Chattanooga. My first experience at a Ruth Chris was 20 years ago at their location in Manhattan at 51st & 7th in my apartment building so plenty of fond memories are associated with those times. I was part of a party of 10 and was one of the first to arrive last week. As most of our party were running late, my wife and I went to the bar to order drinks. We found an empty table with dirty glasses and began looking for a waiter. It took 10 minutes to order a drink and drinks had not arrived by the time we were seated 15 minutes later. Waiter was very apologetic for being short-staffed. Our party was sat in the main dining area in an over-lit room that reminded me of a conference room. Most everyone ordered a steak with my wife getting the filet and I the ribeye. Lots of sides were ordered for sharing. Both of our steaks were sitting in a pile of grease and were way too salty. If I wasn't with our party, both steaks would have been sent back. The below par drink service also continued during the meal with slow responses from the waiter to empty glasses and interminable time for the drinks to actual arrive. I also can't remember a time when a party such of ours had to pass the wine bottles around because the staff was so in attentive. This review is saved from a one star because the desserts were incredible and huge. There are plenty of options in Chattanooga for delicious steaks (Hennen's, St. John's, Public House, et al). Save yourself the trip to Ruth Chris unless you are looking for really good desserts.

Was already a fan of Ruth's Chris having eaten at several of their restaurants including at the original in the 1980's. The high standard is maintained well in Chattanooga. Service was prompt, attentive but not obtrusive. My steak was done perfectly and the appetizers and side orders were great (though large). Despite eating at many different steakhouses in many different cities, I have not found any who do it better.

Was concerned from early reviews if I should even bother to go here knowing it could end up being an expensive failed experiment. Not to worry. Service and food were great. I think the "just opened" issues have been ironed out. Loved our waitress Carrie.

Oh my goodness! This was one of the best meals I've ever had. This was my first visit to a Ruth's Chirs and it was wonderful. We made a reservation here to celebrate a birthday and from the moment we walked in the staff made subtle efforts to recognize the special day without being obnoxious, which we appreciated. There was even "Happy Birthday" confetti on our table. Very cute. Our server, Carrie, was awesome. She had the best attittude and personality, she was also knowledgable and professional. I wish all servers were as good as Carrie. The food, of course, was well above average.... as expected. We will definitely go back to Ruth's Chris soon.

The steaks were very good, however the service was terrible. We waited an hour for our soup and salad. I order a glass of wine and it was NEVER delivered. We expected better at Ruth's Chris. There are better places in Chattanooga. Avoid !!!!!

We went here for our anniversary lunch. It was a very disappointing experience. Coming from Atlanta, and bring big fans of Ruth's Chris, the experience was nowhere near worth the price or up to our expectation. We were seated at a booth with a low hanging white light that did nothing for my romantic mood. We chose to change seats. Our steaks were ordered medium but came back closer to rare. We brought this to our waitresses attention after waiting for an uncomfortable amount of time. I have worked in the restaurant industry so I hold service to the same standard that we were taught to give (at a much lower price). When we told our waitress that the steak was improperly cooked, she acted rude and put out and even defensive. We were not impolite, we simply said "we ordered medium." After waiting, we were brought new steaks by the manager, and this time they were medium well. We didn't say anything, as this was becoming an uncomfortable meal already. We just smiled and ate the $40 steak that they couldn't get right. There was no effort from management to compensate for the wait or the awkward experience. We will not be going there again. Save your money. You can get better atmosphere, service, and food for half the price at plenty of other places in Chattanooga.

3.5 to 4 stars. It just wasn't as amazing as it has been before for me. Maybe becuase. I had a two yr old with me? Don't take a two yr old to this place. The filet is still one of the best I have ever had. I love how it is served on the hot plate. It is a melt in your mouth steak, forealzzzz. We also got the crab cake appetizer. Huge pieces of crab inside. Very good flavor. But, nothing unique to it that really made it stand out for me. Finally, the brea pudding was dry. The wife and I both agreed that it was not one of the better bread puddings we have had. It needs some ice cream or something to get rid of the dryness.

As far as upscale chains go, this place is phenomenal. We had the Seared Ahi Tuna for an appetizer, which was great and didn't last long. For dinner we had the porterhouse for two. Cooked just like we asked and delicious. Eric, our waiter was knowledgeable and personable. He was attentive and added to the experience of the restaurant. Would definitely recommend it.

After reading some of the reviews, we wondered if this was the place we wanted to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. We have always wanted to try it and let me tell you, so glad we did! Now I am normally pretty generous with the star rating...if my clan is happy and full and we had great service, 5 stars. This time I would give more if I could. From the moment we walked in the door we were taken care of. They even put Happy Anniversary confetti on the table. Our Server was awesome! She and others went above and beyond to take care of us. Now the food... I had the Strawberry almond salad, 12 oz ribeye and creamed spinach. My husband ordered the same salad, 16 oz ribeye and sautéed mushrooms. One of the best steaks we've ever had and the rest of it was delish! (Also had enough packed up for lunch the next day.) The wonderful end of our dining experience was the cheesecake and written on the plate was Happy Anniversary!! Yummy! Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!! We will definitely return!!!

I laugh when I read anything less than a four-star review of this RC--alcohol makes the devil out of some people, I suppose. Don't come here expecting to experience anything less than excellent food and stellar service. I've been a number of times, most recently last Monday evening. Reservations were received and handled courteously for my party and I was referred to by my name by everyone from the moment of my arrival. Service was timely and attentive yet nicely in the wings to afford us time to visit. Signature filet was perfectly cooked even more tender than normal. The 12 oz filet is fully 12 oz; my date had the 8 oz which was certainly more like 12. Coffee is served tableside in a french press so the aroma stays at your table, which I love. Sides are self-described as 'sharable', probably best among three people. The two of us couldn't finish a side. Our server was well-tenured; she said she'd been on staff since just a few months after opening. She was smooth and attentive: very professional. Surely I have a suggestion for improvement, for no place is perfect, right? And here it is: management, please have your servers remind me next time that your desserts are large enough for the entire cast of Lion Kings! Thank you for another exemplary evening.

Went here when visiting the area. Was adjacent to our hotel so was convenient. Service was fine. The food was just okay. The steak we had was comically fatty. Only half of it was edible. Unless you're one of those people that likes to chew on pieces of fat. Not sure if it's the cow's fault or the restaurant. Been to places for less than half the cost and was doubly as enjoyable. Also the "sauteed fresh spinach" was bland and didn't really resemble a spinach taste. Just tasted like an unhealthy mess of creamer or something? Maybe a southern thing--not sure.

My first time in Chattanooga and stayed at the swankiest Embassy Suites ever. Ruth's Chris is right next door. The staff was super friendly and the cocktails were great. I had the blueberry mojito and my friend had the apricot sour. Recommend both. The bar ambiance was my favorite. We sat in our comfy, high-back chairs and explored wines and cocktails on their iPad wine lists. It was a lot of fun. I ordered the sizzling crab cakes and a Ruth's chop salad. Both were delicious. I can't rave enough about the chop salad. It's presented like a tuna tartare stack tower with crispy onion strings on top. I wasn't really hungry, but I had to eat it all.

Ruth's Chris is consistently wonderful. Great food and excellent service, one of the best steaks anywhere, and the sides are amazing as well! The new Chattanooga location is one of the best out of all the RC's I have visited, and we are so happy to have it in our hometown.

Went to celebrate my mother's birthday. We waited a few minutes to be seated despite having a reservation, but it wasn't long enough to cause concern. I suspect our server was new to serving, as she was very enthusiastic but a bit forgetful about silverware and refilling our water. Ultimately, though, everyone got what they ordered and we never waited too long for anything to arrive. My petite filet was a perfect medium rare, but the potatoes au gratin were lukewarm. My mother's NY strip was medium rather than medium rare, but a manager was very attentive to and apologetic about it; he approached us to ask about our meal and offered to send the steak back, but she decided to eat it as is. She received a free dessert for her birthday, anyway, but we were also offered free desserts to compensate for the overcooked steak. We declined because we had filled up on some delicious appetizers and cocktails. My parents' review of the visit might be a bit lower than mine for various reasons, but every bit of my meal lived up to my expectations of Ruth's Chris.
