I was excited when I found a Rita's close to home and extremely disappointed when I visited with my family. The staff need a lesson in customer service. When my young child dropped his cone the person waiting on us looked at us like we had just broke precious china. My child was clearly upset and the guy just stood there with no offer of another cone just a stare. We asked for another and he acted like doing so was absolutely going to kill him. After this experience it was ruined for me. I'll wait til I go back to Jacksonville Florida where the staff was pleasant and these were teenagers. This guy can learn a thing or two from them. Here is a suggestion spend an extra few bucks and go to Ben and Jerrys up the road. They only got a star because I had to. If I could it would be in the negative.

I take my kids to Rita's whenever we go to the Aquarium. The owner and his staff are always wonderful; the store is clean; the value is excellent. It's all so delicious there, we always have a hard time deciding. When one of my kids fell down on the pedestrian bridge and had a huge goose egg developing on her forehead, the owner made an ice pack for her, even though his store didn't have ice! Rita's is my favorite part of Chattanooga!

We love Rita's custard! The only place that serves yummy Gelato that taste like REAL NY gelato! I love that they have outdoor seating! We brought our puppy Martini and she had so much fun people watching and eating gelato! Everyone was so nice!

This place is as good as it gets. The ice is great and the employees are friendly. Especially the one who has the name tag "Beyoncé". The prices were cheap and the temperature outside was extremely high so this was the perfect refreshment to help cool down. Next time I'm in Chatt Town, I will be back for sure.

How can anyone rate s place that has Swedish Fish Italian ice less than 5 stars, i don't understand. The consistency and syrup is the closest thing in the mainland if you've ever had a snow cone in Hawaii.

Cute place to get a quick desert. I got the Swedish Fish Italian ice!!! I don't know if they have that flavor all the time though but it was really cool flavor to have in Italian ice form. My husband got Georgia peach which tasted very good as well. There were only two tables and four chairs total, so it's not a sit down place. That wasn't a problem though. Establishment was clean and kept up.

Need customer training. We have visited Rita's all over the country and this is the absolute last for customer service. The ices are wonderful but the server when we were there tonight acted like we were disturbing her evening. No smiles or enthusiasm. The customer ahead of me appeared new to Rita's and she seemed put out that he didn't know the menu. When he asked for lids, I thought she was going to tell him no. The store is small and dinky. Felt drab and gloomy. Certainly doesn't seem like a gathering place with its limited seating and uninviting atmosphere There is a rewards system using an app. However if you buy more than one item, you only get one punch toward the free item. When I asked about it, the server had no idea how it worked or had any comments. Highly recommend the the ices, tho.

I got a Blendini made with Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice, Chocolate Frozen Custard, and crushed up bits of Heath Bar. At $4.53 for the regular size, I was expecting something much larger than what I got, but it was only 8 ounces if that. The cup it came in would probably hold closer to 12 ounces but the girl who made mine only filled it up to about 2/3. I was very disappointed. As I walked out of the store holding my teeny Blendini, I prepared my tongue for something delicious. To my dismay, it just tasted like regular chocolate soft serve (a really melted version) mixed in with Heath bits - something I could easily make myself without any loss of quality. Actually, I would have to go to an ice cream or frozen yogurt place, ask for the plain chocolate soft serve, mix in Heath bits, and then wait 15 minutes for it to melt in order to recreate what I paid almost $5 for. To add insult to injury, I walked past a crowded Ben & Jerry's only a short distance away. There was a line out the door and everyone enjoying their ice cream outside had on giant smiles. But not me. I covered the label on the cup I was holding with my hands and quickly walked by. This would be a 1-star review had the owner and cashier at Rita's not been so nice and friendly. I also know we have one of these in Atlanta so I will give it another chance. Hopefully this experience was a fluke.

Excellent choice we made following lunch today. I hadn't been into a Rita's in years and we spotted this while we were eating lunch next door at Buffalo Wild Wings. There was a nice steady flow of people coming out with nice, cool things to eat. So we were saving room for ourselves. When we walked in, we just followed a larger group. The man behind the counter, the proprietor I imagine, waited on us and gave us the mini tour of the flavors, made suggestions, offered us free samples and overall gave us the experience a business should sell. My peach Italian ice was great! The custard with hot sauce was equally as good. And we truly had a good time here in Chattanooga! Well done, Rita's!
