First time in Tennessee, I wanted to try some real southern barbecue, I got exactly what I wanted, absolutely delicious. I'm so happy I got to eat here before going back to California!

My husband really wanted barbecue last night and we were right by Famous Dave's so we decided to give them a try. For a Saturday night they weren't very crowded and we didn't have to wait for a table. Service was fast, and our waitress was very sweet. We both ordered the Georgia chopped pork, which was good and came with a mild BBQ sauce. I added their Texas pit BBQ sauce but found it to be a bit too rich, not much of a smoke flavor. My garlic red skin mashed potatoes were way too garlicky, and dry like they had been sitting out a while. I didn't finish them, and I love mashed potatoes so they were pretty bad. The "fresh seasonal" corn was good but I'm positive they were frozen ears rather than fresh. My husband didn't like macaroni and cheese, it doesn't mention on the menu that it's spicy and contains peppers. He loved the corn bread muffin, though I never tried mine. Overall I give them 3 stars and they're all dedicated to the waitress. Not impressed with the quality of the food for the price.

This was our first time visiting. They gave us a sauce tour and plenty of recommendations. Although the food was pricey, it was delicious! Well worth it! We will definitely be back!

Just when you think you can't get better service after already rating them a 5star. Well it got better!!! Being a regular, The last few times in the bartender was able to recall what I normally order. Impressive. Today I come in and ask for a booth in the bar. It needed to be cleaned so I waited. By the time I was led to the table, the same bartender had my order in, drink made and some chips waiting for me. Can't beat that.

Stopped in while on a marathon road trip. Friendly staff and quick service. I went with some new Build your own BBQ, basically BBQ burritos, tasty rice, mustard slaw and meat. Dining partner had the classic cheeseburger, they gave it a thumbs up. Some of the best BBQ sauces around.

Great food! Baby backs, potato salad, Wilbur beans, brocolli and corn bread. All were very good. Service was excellent. We'd definitely come back next time we're in the area.

Great Bar B Q restaurant to visit as it is strictly a 5 star service every time I dine in. The customer service is always superb as they take care of me every time. Thanks to Gary N on his recommendation on what to order here and that is the wings in honey zesty sauce which is the same sauce they use for their ribs. I will get this on my next visit but today I was craving a bar b q sandwich and corn on the cob. Please see picture. Menu items ordered: On first visit; bar b q sandwich, corn on cob, cornbread, sweet tea. On second visit ordered; wings in honey zesty sauce, corn on cob, bar b q chips, celery and carrots, and one cornbread muffin. My friend ordered a vegetable plate which included corn on cob, red skin mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The bar b q sandwich was great as I really enjoyed it as it was on a square size bun. It came with pickles too which just added to the flavor of the sandwich. The corn on the cob was cooked to perfection with butter. The cornbread muffin had a sweet taste to it which went well with everything else I got. My second visit proved even more delightful and tasty. I got the wings in a special sauce which was honey zesty. This sauce is what they normally put on their ribs. But, you can tell them to put it on the wings and they will. Gary N really knows his stuff is all I can say. This might be what I order every time I visit Famous Dave's. I got extra honey zesty on the side along with ranch dressing to dip every other one in. In summary, this is Chattanooga's number one bar b q restaurant by my standards. It has surpassed Sticky Fingers recently by all aspects of the restaurant business which includes customer service and taste of food.

If I could have given a zero I would have. This review is specifically pertaining to this location and not the company as s whole, as we have had a good experience at other locations. We have been to FD's in Maryland, Colorado, Nevada, California as well as other states and this by far has been the worst. To start the very young, and clearly untrained host attempted to seat us at a table that clearly had not been wiped at all from the last guest and perhaps from the previous. He notes it needs to be cleaned and out of convenience suggests my husband hold the menus, crayons and such while he gets supplies. He proceeded to clean the table ensuring that every last scrap paper, food scrap and crumb litter the ground around the entire table. Then he leaves without actually placing the menus, and of course not apologizing for the disgusting table and surrounding area. My family of FIVE was left to sit among FOUR chairs. I guess we'll go find the wonderful host and ask for a chair. While we sit among our filthy space, we order and have a lovely (no sarcasm) waitress. Our salads arrive as requested before our dinner and crunch, crunch, wait.... a super crunchy piece of lettuce? Nope, a salad dressing lid - In my darned salad. Fantastic. Not only is the restaurant filthy, and have a super sucky host, but there is no control in their kitchen as well. We quietly ask for the manager who's a really nice lady, and apologizes for the problems and offers to comp our meal. While we contemplate her offer and our decision to opt for another restaurant - we watch another waiter as he pushes all the food scraps, crayons and debris from the table next to us, on the floor. Seriously! We very nicely declined not only comp'ing our meal, but also turned down the gift card to re-visit the restaurant to give them another shot. People often say "you couldn't pay me to eat there", and its definitely true in this case. I'll be sure to share the photo of my delicious salad.

Amazing barbecue. The burgers were tasty and Juicy too. We were first timers and Shane was very helpful and thorough with the offerings on the menu. I'm already planning another visit here for our next trip to Tennessee. We're from Orlando, Florida.

Good wings, great onion strings & baked potatoes. We like the appetizers & big fans of the brisket.

I've eaten at Famous Dave's in Seattle, Nashville and Fort Myers. This is by far the worst. In my combo dinner, the burnt ends weren't even beef. They were inedible. The ribs were not slow smoked. They may have been food service ribs. The toast slice was completely dried out. They forgot the corn bread muffin and my draft beer was totally flat. I went to this location based on wonderful BBQ at every other Famous Dave's in which I've dined. I'm a serious BBQ guy and know bad when I see it. The person I was with ordered the brisket and eat one piece.

Now....after our very dismal trip to Chattanooga TN. Yes after horrible hotels, restaurants, and movie experiences (See my review comments)! This place was a shining light in darkness! The food was on time, fresh, and delicious with the only exception of bringing an order of wings in BBQ sauce when we ordered sauce on the side. But the waiter ordered a fresh set of wings at no cost to our party! A true BBQ restaurants meeting and exceeding some of the best in our state as well as in this nation! Kudos, to all at Famous Dave for a job well done!

The food here was on target! I had the catfish nuggets, corn on the Cobb, string beans and corn bread. The only thing that was a lil off was the fact that we ordered wings w/ sauce on the side and they brought it to us with the sauce on them. The good part is that the waiter did right his wrong by bringing us another order of wings done correctly without an additional charge and told us to keep the original order. Overall I would return again, the food was delicious!

Being from Texas I like my brisket sandwhich to have either sliced or chopped beef. Dave's does theirs in chunks. This made for some chewy pieces with grissle. I dont think they cook their meat as long as we do either. The sauce was okay. Not smokey. Sweet with a touch of heat. I did not like their pickles at all. The potato had too much onion in ratio to the other ingredients. But the flavor was good. Cost $21 for two not very meaty sandwhiches and one side each ane one iced tea. So, a little on the pricey side. For those who may be in the Austin Texas area try the Iron Works downtown or the place in Dripping Springs called the Salt Lick. I'm still on the search for a great BBQ and hamburger koint in the Athens/Cleveland area of Tennessee.

Orsered the ribs and ribs (st.louis and babyback) with beans and slaw. It was supposed to come with corn bread but that never came after asking... the st.ouis ribs were good but the babybacks were dry like they been sitting there all day. The service was fantastic. So here is the outcome: food =2 service =3 (deduction for the cornbread) since I rarely base my reviews on service I give this chain restaurant a 2 star.

The food here is wonderful-- everything is delicious. The cornbread is to die for. I loved everything I had. The only bad part of my experience was my waiter who insisted on keeping my change. Regardless, I loved the experience and would go back for dinner any night

As a regular of Dave's, I was highly disappointed a few years ago when the catfish fingers disappears from the menu. As you can imagine, I was ecstatic today when I opened a menu and there they were on an insert! I inquired about a lunch portion, and they obliged. Great lunch with an old friend.

Lots of tips for the chef. Lunch BBQ salad drowned in super sweet BBQ sauce....my bad should ordered dressing on the side...had no idea of witnessing such horror. Chopped pork....excellent! Corn fritter app.....back to the kitchen....very few corn kernel's and fried a little too long. Not as good as past visits to Dave's!!

I love barbeque and I try to find some good places to eat. So it surprised me when some of the best barbeque I've ever had was from a chain. They have ribs to die for and the brisket is sliced and tender as all get out! I get a crack out of the waiters go by famous "fill on name" funny but great at service. I love this place and even over sticky fingerz. Wow!

Not a pork eater so can say anything about their ribs but their brisket and chicken is delicious we also love to order their burnt ends(which is brisket pieces) so so good, cornbread is made to order and really good too great service.

I was craving some BBQ, so while I was in the area I decided to give them a try. First off, I was a party of one and my waitress pretty much treated me that way. I ordered the Baby Back-n-Meat so I could try the ribs and chopped pork. I got beans and mac n cheese for my sides. The beans weren't too bad and the spicy mac n cheese was different and not too bad. I ate my sides and pulled pork first and was looking forward to saving the nice looking half rack of ribs for last. The chopped pork was pretty good and when I went to try my first rib I knew it wasn't going to be good. I tried pulling it apart (the sure sign of well cooked ribs). Nope! Fortunately I had been given a steak knife so I could saw through them. I would have sent them back, but unfortunately my waitress showed up about 5 minutes after I had finished to bring the check, so it was pretty useless. Honestly I have never had baby back ribs that tough. It was like eating a chunk of rubber and the steak knife almost wasn't enough to get through them. I dont write many reviews, but since i was never asked how my food was, other than how it looked when it was first brought out, I am now telling how it was. Sorry Famous Dave, you were pretty much mediocre at best!

I really like Famous Dave's. Yes, I realize it's a chain. No, I don't think it's the best BBQ ever, possibly not even best in Chattanooga. But every time I eat here, I really enjoy it. The food is reliably good, and the servers have gone above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my time there. Most places these days that would compete with Famous Dave's don't do the same. I haven't had anything I didn't like here, and frankly it's just fun to eat a variety of BBQ foods and fixin's off of a trash can lid with friends; and makes for an interesting first date place for that reason alone. The way I figure it (for me at least), if a woman can get her hands into a rack of ribs in front of you and have a great unpretentious time with you sharing food off of a trash can lid the first time you go out, she's a winner. She said I was the messiest eater she'd ever seen. But that's okay, because Famous Dave's keeps massive rolls of paper towels on the table for just that reason - to save grown men from looking like little boys with sauce all over their faces. 4/5

So I go to have a nice dinner cause I'm craving for some BBQ and I get there and it's a 15 minute wait., no problem until I look around and see several tables open. I finally get seated and there's even tables open and not that many left before I got seated still not a problem. The was okay ribs were a little overcook but it was okay, my problem was how dirty the place was and during the time I was there no one bothered to clean up very dirty.

What a great location. The service alone is worth 5 stars. Our server was Hannah..she was great. The manager Jeff...knows his stuff. The food...Delish. I had the pulled pork sand. with Baked beans and My hubby had the Beef brisket plate with mac n cheese and baked beans. For dessert....praline bread pudding. Lets just say we left full and we left empty plates. This place is definitely worth the stop.

My girlfriend and I checked out this eatery and ordered a two-to-three person combo platter, with chicken, briscuit, pork, ribs, corn, beans, coleslaw and fries. It came on an enormous plate -- so much food that, even though we were both hungry, there was enough left over to fill three take-home boxes. Overall, it was of good quality, though the food could have been warmer. The staff is excellent. At least three different people checked on us throughout the meal, and all were friendly and humorous. Upon learning that we were first-time visitors, they even gave us a complimentary bottle of steak sauce. The interior decor is quirky and fun, and we were seated quickly, even on a busy Saturday night. Certainly a well-run establishment.

Stopped in Famous Dave's. Was getting ready to hit the hotel and call it a night. Had the brisket with beans and coleslaw and it was awesome. Good food and great service. Would highly recommend coming here. Oh and I also got the brownie desert to go and I swear this thing is like a small personal cake!

I wish I had some right now.. I'm getting hungry. I've gotten takeout from here once on the way home. My stomach was growling the entire way home from the delicious aroma. I had the bbq tips dinner, with veg sides and corn muffins. It was really a huge portion, and I actually had it for early dinner and late dinner :) I went in right before they closed and they were still very friendly. I'd never been here before but heard about it from friends, and I love all their hot sauces, in fact I used the remaining ones to put on my food the next day. I like how they give you little moist towellettes because it gets so messy. The meat is well marinated and has a good flavor, its a little on the chewy side, but it wasn't terrible. overall I really enjoyed it and hope to return for another delicious meal.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. The employees are very sweet, the atmosphere is very laid back...but the food. WOW. I always order the Texas Brisket, it never has too much fat trim, and it's always tender. The portions are pretty generous for what you pay. You could be extremely hungry...and leave with a huge belly. I highly recommend. :)

My wife and I have been Famous Dave's fans since we tried our first one in Nashville many years ago. And we've eaten at many since then. We came upon this one last night, and although we had other plans, changed them quickly to eat here. Yes, I know it's a chain. But, I can't help it, the barbecue is always good. Their sauces are good. Their corn muffins are tasty. And this particular experience from last night, had nothing I could find fault with. The food was great, the ribs were tasty, the sides were freshly made and good, the server (Justin) was on top of his game, and it was a great meal. We got the sampler platter, and share it, and couldn't remotely come close to eating everything. Brisket was also good, as was the chicken.

I love the country chicken even though it is not a BBQ dish. The slaw is also very good with the pineapple juice and should not be missed. The corn muffins are also very good. A solid meal at a solid price.

The meal was less than stellar. The brisket was extremely fatty( about 70% fat) and tasted extremely salty. Definetly will not eat here again.

I dined at two BBQ restaurants, and Famous Dave's was the better of the two. Good portion sizes...friendly staff! Try the smoked salmon spread...mmmm...mmmm...good!

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe no one has written a review on Famous Dave's yet!! Okay, my old favorite bbq joint was Jordan's BBQ in Cleveland, TN. Then, my mom took me to Famous Dave's. Wow. Their Brunswick stew? Amazing! Their sides are all scrumptious, but my one of my favs is the garlic mashed potatoes. I love ALL their entrees and am slowly working my way down the list. I later introduced my (then) new hubby to the place. He fell in love with everything, especially their bread pudding. He was a Sticky Fingers fanatic. Was. Now he never eats there, and complains that we don't eat at Famous Dave's nearly enough. Luckily, there's one right down the road from where we're moving to. This is something you DEFINITELY need to try. The atmosphere is so cool, with fishing and hunting items and pictures everywhere. And they use pipes to hold a roll of paper towels at your table, because napkins just won't do. They're also one of the few restaurants I've been to in recent years that still offer those sanitized wet napkins. Not something that gives a restaurant a five-star rating, lol, but it's definitely a brownie point. One BIG deal is that they have so many different sauces available to you right on the table. Sweet ones, salty ones, and my favorite is Devil's Spit. Not for the faint of heart like my hubby ;-) but definitely wonderful, especially when you mix it with Sweet and Sassy sauce.
