Besides the best burgers in town they also have a great deluxe double decker grilled cheese with meat. Steak Sub add lettuce and Cheese is good too. Still serves something close to the original "Leonards Burger." That's a good thing.

There was once a day in Chattanooga that the best burger in town was an Armando burger. I was a youngster then, but it still holds true that when I think of what a burger should be I think of Armando's. This particular location hasn't changed much, if at all, since they first opened. Honestly, I think they may have rearranged the dining area and that's about it. There's still that old picture of Smokey hanging above the drink station and the classic peg board menu above the register. Let's not forget to mention floor to ceiling paneling! The family that runs this location is nice and they know their regulars. I'm always surprised there's not a "No Cell Phones Allowed" sign somewhere. Most importantly, let talk about the chow. There is really nothing like an Armando burger. They're big and juicy and served on a sesame seed bun. They add just enough lettuce for crunch and NO ONE puts a whole slice of onion on meat patties like these guys do. They also make one of the greatest elbow-licking grilled cheese you've ever tried. Not to mention you have your choice of fried potato here. Everything from fries, tots, wedges, curlies, and shoestrings; you name it. If you're feeling healthy, you can grab a salad. But why on earth would you do that when you can eat a burger?!? I absolutely love burgers and Armando's is like putting on those old shoes that are broken in just right. They aren't shiny and new anymore but no one minds if you wear them at home. So while this place may not be the right spot for a first date, it's an excellent spot after the honeymoon is over.

NEVER have I been disappointed by any of the Armando's locations. I remember eating there as a chid, always such a special treat. When I bought my first home as an adult, I told my real estate agent her top priority is to find us a house within 5 minutes of an Armando's. True story! And she succeeded. When we bought our second home, we made sure we had one close by there as well. The size of their burgers are no joke! And the double burger? Wow! That's a lotta burger! I think the only thing that would make their burgers better is putting them on a Hawaiian bun. Otherwise, keep doing what you're doing.

I just moved back to Chattanooga from Nashville and looked forward to eating at Armando's because I remember it being so good. Well today I ordered a deluxe grilled cheese with meat. There was hardly any cheese on it and tons of onions. My coworker order the same thing and she said hers was also the same. Won't be going to this location again!
