This has always been my favorite restaurant in the area. Nothing else really compares. I grew up in Johnson City and my parents always took my brother and I to Troutdale to celebrate birthdays and special events and I even went there before a few proms when I was in high school (circa 1994) . The ownership changed hands about 10 years ago, but the Zandi's have done a fabulous job keeping the old traditions and expanding upon them. The atmosphere is wonderful... set in a big old Victorian house, the rooms provide a great setting for semi-private to private dining. They have a nice bar area as well. The food and service are the real show pieces though. This is pretty much the only place in the tri-cities area where you can go to a restaurant that's going to serve you an amuse bouche and has a certified Sommelier. Given the name, all of the trout dishes are amazing! and are farmed locally. There are also a couple of prix fixe specials including "field and stream." They are big on using local ingredients that are in season and you really can't go wrong and can basically throw a dart at the menu. Troutdale is a place to go to savour the food and wine and to make an evening out of it. Always a hit!

Definitely the best restaurant in the Tricities. Trout is wonderful. Nothing else to compare with the service and ambiance. The Troutdale Experience is a good value as well.

If you haven't eaten at The Troudale Dining Room in Bristol, you are missing out. By far the best food from the Knoxville area to Roanoke. The bar menu is fantastic and the dining experience is unparalleled. The chef always has featured menu items for the season and the desserts are out of this world. Give them a try...you won't be dissappointed. They are expanding into other markets so look for the Troutdale logo near you.
