Let me start by saying I'm a southern food snob and have high expectations for places that claim they have good southern food. Well, this place hit the spot! Great food and great service. Little small mom and pop place so expect limited seating but this place is definitely worth the wait! Fried steak was on point! The meatloaf was huge and flavorful! Will be back!!

So good. Down to earth southern staff-very attentive. Huge mason jar cups for your beverages. All home made foods. Our family got country fried steak, country fried chicken, poor mans steak, black eyed peas, green beans, turnip greens, fried okra, skin-in lumpy mashed potatoes, Mac-n-cheese, and the little one got grilled cheese and fries. For dessert we got the coconut cream pie and chocolate pie. Everything was fabulous. Prices are great for the food you get. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Best country cookin' around. Great food and service. They were very quick with the food and drink service. Be prepared. They do have a wait sometimes as the place is pretty small but you won't wait long. Turn over is pretty fast!

Such an awesome place to visit. You are welcomed like family when you walk in the door. It's definitely a common occurrence to have the owner chat with you. These seem like people with wholesome values, spreading their love of the Bartlett community with awesome food. Please check them out!

My wife and I had many friends tell us to go to Bailey's for some good home cookin'. Well, they were right. For starters, the hushpuppies are great. My wife enjoyed her veggie plate. I had the Country Fried Chicken with greens and corn - it all tasted scratch-made and had good flavor. The greens were tender and tasty, not bitter - quite good. The biscuit was done well too - not doughy or cakey. Did I mention the hushpuppies were good? We heard they also have good Banana Pudding. It must be good because they were out! Perhaps next visit. Anyway, if you like good "comfort food", treat yourself - and your family - to Bailey's. Oh, just don't get there too late or you'll find yourself waiting for a table (but it's worth the wait).

Great fine going south thru Memphis. Off the road a ways but worth it. Properly done home cooking (Catfish, Chicken Fried Chicken, Okra) with all the fixins'. Bragged about Banana Pudding not really that good - otherwise, service, etc. was great. We'll be back as we travel thru.

Nice place for a home cooked country meal. After hearing the ad on the radio and working near by I had to give it a try. The complimentary hush puppies were really good. I had a vegetable plate and all the veggies were fresh, and cooked very well. The broccoli could have been seasoned a little more but nothing I couldn't fix myself. Though a bit pricey for a vegetable plate, but it was fresh so I was happy with paying for it. Oh, and the fried green tomatoes.. need I say more? Yum!

Great home made food done right! Love the fried potatoes and purple hull peas! The bragging on the Southern fried steak is addictive.

This is a good place for lunch and a good place for a family meal. This is the sort of place that I struggle to rate correctly. It is great for what it is. It is a place to get a hearty country cafe kind of meal. Does that mean 4 or 5 stars? The service was good and the food was good. For example the chicks tenders and chicken livers appeared to be fresh and hand breaded. The hush puppies were very good. Outstanding even. However, I think most of the sides came out of a can or mix box. They tasted fine but do you drop a star because of that? The biscuits were okay, but a little over mixed which toughens them up. I doubt they were mixed by hand. The chicken livers were slightly over-cooked and over-breaded but still okay. I decided to give it 4 stars anyway and I would go back here. I just wouldn't go out of my way for it. It is great for what it is, an inexpensive country style food place. Just expect to get what you pay for.

This place is the exact definition of good old fashioned country cooking! As a girl from California, I was not raised with such amazing food that everyone eats in the south. Today just happens to be my 1st time and I will returning for sure. The staff are amazing and greeted the regulars by name & they were just super friendly. The owner Ric came to each table and greeted/talked every customer, which I think is awesome. Prices are very reasonable. Better come early tho this place is super busy BUT well worth the wait!!!!

Our expectations were high based on the reviews, and we were hungry after a long drive to the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. I was born and bred in the South, and can say the food falls short of Cracker Barrel. My foodie wife from the North agreed. Very bland. The biscuits were a bit odd, not soft or flaky, and slathered with butter on the top.

I was very disappointed. After reading the great reviews here and one in the local news paper I was eager to dine at Bailey's. I will admit that we went at 3:00 pm. after the lunch rush and I know that is not a good idea. Basically we got leftover sides that had been setting far to long to be fresh. This time I didn't pay as much attention to the other dishes served at the table as I usually do (2 were off the kids menu so nothing special there.) So this review reflects my meal. I ordered Chicken livers with "mashed taters" and fried cabbage. I had seen photos of this dish and in fact the cabbage looked excellent and as if it were fried on a flat top. My cabbage was boiled to the point of being brown and inedible. The potatoes had potential but again setting around to long and too dry and bland. Chicken livers, now they were very good and a huge serving. They were fresh, perfectly cooked and topped with a decent brown gravy but a tad bland. They could have used a little more seasoning to kick them up a notch. I did sample a bite of the fried green tomatoes and it was one of the most bland I ever tasted. I asked my Granddaughter about her turnip greens and she said they were just average. Maybe if we had gone during the lunch rush things would have been better but I read they are very busy at that time. Bailey's is a very country atmosphere and the VERY country music playing a bit too loud was a little annoying. I wish them luck but it is just not for me.

The perfect home cooking spot in Memphis. The staff is very friendly and the owner is great. He is always helping and talking to the customers. The chicken tenders are great and the hush puppies are to die for! I love the biscuits and the fried green tomatoes. A fun, down home place with great food. And a military discount.
