Fantastic Cuban sandwich, enjoyed every bite. I also had a side of black beans with rice and the flavor was just what I remember from childhood in Miami Florida. We ended our lunch with expresso in perfect little cups and it was delightful. We are energized for the day!

BEER! Let me say that again, because it matters in Athens, TN. Angela's has beer. Plus some pretty decent food, but the beer gets them to five stars. Sort of a divey place but in a good way. And I saw some musical instruments set up in front so presumably they have live bands. Seems like a good hangout spot in what very much seems a barless wasteland. Ropa vieja is quite good. The meat is tender and well seasoned. Sides of fried plantains, rice & beans spot on. That would earn Angela's four stars alone. Washed down with Sweetwater 420. Good service.

Gotta come here if you're in Athens. The Cuban sandy with rice and beans awesome...and I hate rice and beans usually. Gotta get dessert be the cheese cake one of the best I've ever had. Friendly staff and looks like they play live music at night, I'll have to come back for happy hour to see it for myself.

Cuban sandwich was delicious- espresso (Cubano) was strong and super sweet. Cheesecake was alright. All of it was piping hot and authentic!

Well I've tried this place a few times again since my first review. I added 2 more stars because the follow up visits were a big improvement on the food quality. I've had the fish tacos, Greek chicken and Italian slider sandwich. Each time the food was very good and the black beans with rice just may be my new food addiction. I'm still not a fan of the Cuban sandwich but there are plenty other options on the menu that I now know are very good.

Ropa Vueja-pulled pork in a creole sauce with a side of rice and fried plantaines. Everything was very good. Basket of Cuban bread served with the meal was good but not memorable. Homemade cheesecake for dessert was terrific. Friendly service, average decor. Would go back if ever back in town.

I just moved to Athens, TN and was really excited to find Angela's. My friend got the Cuban sandwich, and I got the vegetable burrito with black beans and rice. Both were great. They also have beer, cubanos, and (I believe) live music. Affordable, fun, and friendly.

Ok. A Cuban restaurant in Athens,Tennessee. I ordered pork tacos and they were really good. I know tacos. They were really good. An expansive menu with great prices, and a friendly staff.

This is a big departure for me. To try something I have never had. We both ordered the Cuban pulled pork sandwhich on cuban bread. Will finish review after eating. Very well liked by locals. meat very tender. only spice I taste is salt. ketchup helped. will take other half home and add bbq sauce and grilled onions

The food here is delicious, I ordered the Cuban sandwich to start with a cafe con leche. The service was at a good pace as well. Remember everything is made from scratch so it's going to take longer. The coffee was divine. Just a hint of sweetness and it was very creamy and delicious. The sandwich came out and I noticed how tender the pork was, very good quality ingredients. Everything was nice and hot and the French fries are perfect here. Next we ordered the cheese cake since everyone raves about it. Let me tell you... It did NOT disappoint, so rich and creamy it beat cheese cake factory in my opinion. Overall I would recommend eating at Angela's!

Food is flavorful and prices are good. My server had a smile and I can really appreciate that. Had the Cuban sandwich and must say the pork had good flavor. It's a good sized portion, I had enough with a half but my husband ate the other half. I also had some cafe con leche, I must say it was so good. The coffee seem to had sugar so I didn't have to add any. I like my coffee with no sugar, but most cubAn coffees I have had come with sugar already mixed and this one was just right! I love supporting local businesses, this is a good place to get a Cuban sandwich!

Great hometown place!! The food is always good and Eddie and Angela are impeccable hosts! Good variety of local music acts on the weekends and I can't say enough about their catering!! If you are in need of a holiday meal or any celebration call them up and be prepared to drool!!!

Great Home Cooked Food!!! I love the Greek chicken it's so fantastic! They also serve the best black beans and rice I've eaten outside of Miami or Puerto Rico...so good! They also cater small and large events so hit them up if you need that kind of deal. Almost forgot the Cuban sandwich is off the chains, the end.

I had a wonderful lunch and I will go back. The prices were fair and the food was terrific. I would recommend the Cuban sandwich for the first timer and everyone should try the cheesecake. OMG the cheesecake.

So, I moved here from a big metropolitan are about 5 months ago, and have had major problems finding good ethnic cuisine. Needless to say, I didn't have high hopes for Angela ' s Cuban Restaurant/Deli. I have to say, I couldn't have been more wrong! I had the Ropa Viega, shredded brisket in a wonderfully seasoned creole sauce, with rice, black beans, and plantains. My partner had Chuleta. A Caribbean seasoned pork chop with black beans and rice as well. Absolutely the best meal we have had in months. Not to mention a variety of ice cold beers to go with our most awesome meal. If you're in Athens, try Angela's. You won't be disappointed!

One of the top 2-3 places to eat in Athens. Eddie and Angela have a great menu and great service! The Cuban Sandwich, Greek Chicken, Fish Tacos, and Spaghetti are wonderful. Everything is fresh and nothing is bad here.

This is our groups go to place for Friday night supper. Have not had one thing I have not liked Cuban sandwich, Chicken Parm, Cream Basil Chicken, Pork w/beans & Rice, Greek Chicken, Lasagna, Egg Plant just to name a few favorites. Have good beer on tap(I would order a sippy cup of 420). The wait is longer than other places due to each dish is hand made and well worth the time. The live music on Friday night starts @ 7PM with different acts each week ( only thing is the volume can get way to loud to have a conversation at your table, but that depends on who is playing). Would highly recommend to any one - best and only place to eat in Athens!!!

One of my two favorites in Athens! My most frequent order is the Cuban sandwich w/fries... Delicious. I contend their Cuban sandwich is the best in the US outside of Florida. I also like the chicken parmesan, lasagna, fish tacos, and Cuban steak or pork with black beans and rice. A few tips: 1. They have good prices 2. Lunch specials are always quick and delicious 3. The live music can be loud, but always quality 4. Angela and Eddie take a lot of pride in providing a good experience 5. Their beer selection is small but "semi-crafty"... ie. Fat Tire, Sweetwater 420, Sam Adams Seasonals, & etc.

We come into Athens a few times a year to visit my grandmother, and are always looking for something to eat that isn't fast food- not always the easiest thing to find. Angela's deli popped up so we stopped in for lunch, and oh wow, am I glad we did! Delicious roast pork tacos, pan cubano, and cafe con leche. Super reasonably priced. I would give it five stars but for two things- service is kind of slow, and they were out of beans, so my plate was served just with rice. Will definitely comeback next time I'm in town, though!

Food was fantastic! Great tasting dishes, but the service is horrible! They need to hire more servers (we saw 1) and possibly a faster cook. DO NOT go here for lunch if your lunch hour consists of 60 minutes. Took an hour and fifteen minutes to assemble 2 sandwiches. It's a shame a great tasting restaurant can't deliver on the service.

Best food in Athens! Their chicken salad is GREAT! and the flan can't be missed. Fries are oh-so crispy! I can't wait to try the dinner menu. The bathrooms are very clean and the decor colorful. Unfortunately the service depends of what day it is, but the food is definitely the best American fare in Athens, TN.

A friendly little place with Cuban flair! I traded half my Cuban sandwich for half of my friend's chicken salad sandwich. Both were quite tasty! My Cuban was deliciously piping hot. The cheese was well melted with a couple thin layers of brisket generously peeping out the sides of the crusty bread; the flavor of olives wasn't overwhelming. A friend mentioned to me that when he once ordered it there wasn't enough meat, which wasn't the case with my sandwich, there was just enough. Chicken salad isn't really my favorite, but this stuff was a convincing argument. It was a little disconcerting to have grilled bread with a cold filling, but chicken salad is supposed to be cold. The sweet tea was quite sweet, but not over the top. I got chips (just regular Lays Originals are what arrived), but when I snitched some French fries they were nice and crisp. As I walked in I saw the stage with mics set up; I would love to attend one of their live events and explore their dinner options.
