So long Chae's - you will be greatly missed! Glad I got to have one final, fabulous meal last week.

I hardly ever leave reviews this low but when I ate here I was less than impressed. The host kept sitting down at a booth to talk on her cell phone or to sip on a drink, all the staff had a jacket on because the heat was off, and the part that got me the most was the food. When we got our food both dished were semi-cold and one smelt like b-o and the other tasted like ammonia. However, the candle-lit atmosphere was calming and our server was pleasant

Very tasty! My sister and I stopped in while visiting Vermillion and she was very happy to have found a place there that will cook up a delicious batch of sesame chicken whenever she craves it. I had the beef bulgogi which was quite good. The service was great and the atmosphere was very relaxed. It seemed to be the place to be even in the middle of the week. I will probably return when I'm in the area again!

Chae's is much more friendly than Silk Road. Though I don't think the quality of their foods are as good, I usually choose to eat at Chae's because the staff is exponentially more welcoming and attentive, and the seating is more comfortable. I've honestly not had many good things other than the Mu Shu Pork, Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken and their Beef & Broccoli is okay. Their lunch buffet is far inferior to Silk Road's but Chae's is a lot more enjoyable experience overall. It is much quieter than Silk Road, so keep that in mind when deciding between Silk Road and Chae's. I always choose to dine in at Chae's rather than Silk Road but tend to get carry-out from Silk Road. Either way, you can find great things to eat at either place.

Was out in good old Vermillion SD over the weekend, and stopped here with my daughters to eat. The first thing my 4 year old said was " But there isnt even any Chinese people here! " hahah Kids say the funniest things. The food was actually pretty decent. The kids ordered the Orange Chicken which was a bit spicier than we are used to , but it was still good. The service is so-so, and the staff is kind of slow. I wouldnt say it is close to the best Chinese food i have ever had, but it wasnt terrible either.

Nothing outstanding. Buffet is pretty weak. The maki rolls (cooked sushi) are pretty lame (comparable with Silk Road's). Because you wouldn't want to have shrimp raw anyways, you might want to get the mango/shrimp rolls though, as eating cooked fish as sushi seems just wrong. $2 beers, so a good place to start the evening with dinner and drinks.

Wow, what a little gem. The food is very tasty and not "whitened" up. We had several Korean dishes. Although you don't get to cook your own barbecue at the table, the bulgogi and BBQ were awesome. The portions are generous but not ridiculous. They don't bring all those little side dishes like at a more Korean place, but the servers were nice too - so it's a trade off. Good liquor selection, with Chinese and Korean beers and Saki, but bad wine selection. Ambience was very nice too.

Chae's is one of the best Asian restaurants I have ever had the pleasure to patronize. When we moved to Vermillion we were VERY happy to have such good food readily available. The buffet may look small, but it's packed with amazing food. I've never been to a buffet where I would eat all of the dishes, so Chae's is THAT good. It's worth the drive!

This Restaurant made my college years even better. When someone asks me where is the best asian food I have ever had....my answer sounds unreal: IN SOUTH DAKOTA. People think I am making it up, but I am not. I remember saving money through the week while in college so I could go on Friday evening to Chae's and have the BEEF BULGOKY plate. I went to Omaha, NE for a conference last year, and I made the trip back to Vermillion in part so that I could eat at Chae's again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
