The Donut Shop

1120 N Euclid Ave

Every time my family and I go to Pierre we make sure to get these doughnuts. They're inexpensive (you can get a dozen doughnuts for less than $8. Where else can you find those kind of prices?) and absolutely friggin' delicious. My particular favourite is the German chocolate with coconut. This place is only open extremely early in the morning and hidden away, which means on the rare occasion my family does get to get them it's like getting mythical doughnuts. And they certainly taste it, too. These are the best doughnuts I've ever had. They are fresh, crisp and delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone who's visiting or living in the Pierre area and doesn't mind getting up extremely early.
I grew up eating those awesome donut holes from this genius shop. Never been upset with an order or service at this gem. I could run a train on a box of these suckers...just get their early in order to get enough.
Excellent donuts. They are hand made and really hit the spot. The two ladies at the register are fast and always have great attitude. A must place to stop for a fan of donuts

Who would have thought that Pierre, SD has the best bagels!? I was looking for Starbucks but there aren't any at all so I settled for Pierre 347. I was pleasantly surprised that they have good Latte and the yummiest bagels! The bagels are chewy on inside and just the right amount of crunch on the outside after they are toasted. The best flavor is cranberry orange but the last time I was there, they were out of orange so I had to settle with just the cranberry bagel and it was just as good. The flavored cream cheeses are so fluffy and tasty, they definitely compliment the bagels well. The bagels are so good that I have to bring a dozen with at least one flavored cream cheese home every time I have a business trip in Pierre. This always target my luggage for additional TSA search but it is well worth it!
What a beautiful surprise!!! Amazing coffee and great food. I am originally from new jersey and have worked in a bagel store for a few years during college. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these bagels were amazing!! Wow!! Service and scene are great too. Tons of veggies on the bagel sandwich, it was delicious. DELICIOUS! Go here now! --- jersey girl.
In town for a conference and needed a quick cup of coffee and something to eat for breakfast. So glad I stumbled upon this place. Not only was it a quick in and out for an Americano and a Breakfast Sandwich, both were absolutely delicious. The sandwich was so well done. Excellent Asiago bagel with egg, cheese and sausage (kept it simple) was a perfect base for the couple espresso shots I'd need to wash it down. What a great find! I'll be back anytime I make it back to Pierre.

We arrived with a warm welcome from Jeremy however once we met the other partner Ron things changed. Ron was hosting a 50th class reunion and was not prepared to take care of the guest (meaning us). He was preparing for a brunch for the reunion and for us the breakfast consisted of fried eggs, a couple pieces of bacon and toast; no cream for the coffee or milk. The following day we came back from sightseeing. A group of people who were friends and family of the grounds keeper were drinking, smoking and very loud. We had to walk through them to get in to the B&B. Our room had not been made up. The groundskeeper called Ron and he came over and said he did not know why the maid had not cleaned our room and that he would take care of it. I mentioned that we didn't not approve of having the walk through a bunch of people drinking, smoking and very loud in which he replied that the grounds keeper lives here too and it was his home as well so "it is what it is". I told him I didn't think it was appropriate and that it should matter to the "playing guests". He did not agree and told me that I was out of line and that he would not apologize to me. Extremely rude for a business owner of a B&B. You would think the owner would tell the ground s keeper that if anyone was staying at the B&B that there should be no parting. We refused his "so called" breakfast for the next morning telling him that we would be out early in the morning. We stayed at four B&B's on our trip and this was the worst and most unprofessional ran B&B we have ever stayed at. The Vacuum cleaner was in the living room, reunion books all over the table hardly a space for us to eat. The bathroom was extremely small, one could not turn around with the door closed. If you are thinking about booking a room at the Hitching Horse B&B I would find another B&B to stay at.
Hospitality without peer in Pierre. Warm, friendly greeting from owners Ron and Jeremy. 1900s family residence fully and beautifully restored. Rooms well appointed. The baths enhanced with rain head shower fixtures that are terrific for tall folks! I had a custom order omelette that was delicious and included with the reasonable room rate.
I loved my stay here. The owners are friendly. The room was awesome. I hope to not return to Pierre, but would stay here again if I did.

Best prime rib that I have ever had in my life. I'm from Chicago and have been here twice on this trip. Cut it with a fork. Everyone here is very nice too! You won't be disappointed. Nice view of the river. But come for the steaks!
After a long day of driving (from Rockford, IL), Cattleman's was a very welcome oasis. I had the 16oz. Sirloin and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and seasoned to perfection. Full bar so I had a Makers Mark on the rocks. House salad was dressed lettuce and you could add what you want (tomatoes, carrots, cheese, cucumbers). Italian dressing was delicious. My baked potato (and my wife's) were a little undercooked. Our waitress was very pleasant, responsive and chatty, we liked her a lot! Atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming, highly recommended!!
Fly in soda. Slow service. Wrong order. Over done. Sorry I don't complain, but not a good first experience. If this is a real SD steakhouse, no thanks SD.

Hands down the best pizza in town! Subs and pasta are great too. Looking for a lunch tip? Get the #9 on pumpernickel. You won't be sorry.
Only gave 4 stars because of their price, which is high BUT it is the best in town! They have a great variety AND offer a gluten free crust that is excellent ( made me worry it was not GF - it was so good!) I have not tried anything other than their pizza but it always smells good. They are located in the mall and their store always appears to be clean.
I was in town for business for a day and wanted something quick that I can't get everywhere in the country. When I was in there, it was pretty dead, but the service was very good and it was much better pizza that I expected. Although it was good, I will have to agree with other reviewers on the fact that it was more expensive that it should be for pizza. I would go back on business, but I would probably find somewhere else that was cheaper if I was personally paying for it.

Do you remember the hamburger shops of the 50s and 60s? This is the place to go. I love their double bacon cheeseburgers. But, if you are looking for the best BBQ ribs you found it here. Hand rubbed and slow smoked, the meat falls off the bone. Simply awesome, the only reason it is 4 stars and not 5 is the seating is limited
Great food, prefect pulled pork and smoked brisket sandwiches. This is a diner, not a BBQ joint and with that in mind, I gladly give 5 starts. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Big toms diner was ok. We stopped in there looking for lunch and was underwhelmed. Food was quick, but nothing exceptional. Kids had burgers and fries. We had pulled pork sandwiches. They were good compared to the other choices around , or lack thereof.

Mad Mary’s Steakhouse & Saloon

Reviews:
Ok this place is pretty bomb! The historical vibe of Mad Marry is palpable. The prime rib was amazing...perfectly cooked but next time I would ask for half as much seasoning. AND....if you like old fashions....go bourbon and stirred and not muddled....though I prefer rye they don't have a selection...just saying. I'll be back!!
Don't order the salmon, unless you are looking for it to be completely raw and staff with no knowledge of how they usually cook their fish. Perhaps the steaks are better and if so, suggest them removing the fish from the menu. Additionally, only get the fried mushrooms if looking for more batter than mushroom. Great looking atmosphere but too bad that doesn't fill the belly. Best of luck on your adventure here.
Enjoyable. The Rib Eye was a good cut of meat. I wish the cooks at the grill would lay off the salt a bit. Customers can always add more salt at their table if needed, but you can't remove salt when added during the cooking process. That being said, the steak was tasty and additional saucing was not necessary. I would eat at Mad Mary's again.

Great food always. Consistent service. My only gripe is prices are very high for fast food. Otherwise 5 stars!
Got there kinda late at night. The wife looked at me and said "take me to arbies". She had caught me eyeballing the burger king again. FINE! I yelled but then requested to go to BK after. She agreed. Wifes are good that way ya know. Anywho, she got some food, I had some bites, it was super taste. Anything that gets my wifes mouth close while smiling deserves at least 4 stars. She took a nap right after as well. Yes, i'm still talking arbies.

My husband and I were driving from Bismark, ND to Rapid City and stopped to tour the capitol. While there we stopped at this Subway for lunch. I really liked the layout and it seemed clean. The staff were friendly and even gave us water for our dogs. The sandwiches were fresh and we were pleased. Thanks Subway.
