Food is good. I had the Buffalo burger and a side salad. Both were good. My friend have the buffalo chicken strips. She said they were ok they weren't hot or spicy at all. they also have a separate vegetarian menu. My friend that had the veggie burger said it was very good. The decor is rustic, tourist, nostalgic. The restaurant is very clean with good service.

We ordered the buffalo burger and chicken fajitas. The burger was ok, the bun was unexceptional. The fajitas were marginal, onions were undercooked and the meat was like chicken strips. Service was friendly but very slow.

I'm very picky with my food. I give this place a 4.5 all around. Service was a 5. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Atmosphere was very chill. Food was a 4.8. My steak was delicious, and alcoholic drinks compliment it well. Highly recommend.

With so many mom and pop restaurants in Keystone, we decided to just pick one randomly. We ordered the buffalo chili which was very watery, like spiced up soup and depending on where you placed your spoon in the bowl, it was either room temperature or almost hot-likely microwaved in the kitchen. We also ordered the nachos and requested to have the ground beef substituted for chicken and were told that this cannot happen. They had other items on the menu containing chicken (quesadillas, fajitas, etc.) and we were willing to pay an up charge. The nachos were not very good either.

The buffalo burger was 60% bun. Still a nice piece of meat, but the bun was giant. Gf's burger was just average. I would give three stars, but they screwed up my to go order. Substitute onion rings for fries. Yup, they screwed it up. However, they do make the kind of fries that I like. However, a South Dakota buffalo burger should always be bettter than the fries. Below average restaurant, even in South Dakota.

Dog Friendly! Before I mention food, I liked this place right away because my dog was welcomed to join me on the patio without issue. The patio area is large, the tables are spread out in a spacious manner, and there's no smoking permitted. My meal was the Grande Burrito, which was spicy. It was sort of a Tex-Mex creation. Not bad, but nothing to drive out if your way for. Keep in mind this place is known for their burgers. The service was fine and the servers were all friendly.

Ate outdoors here in the patio on a nice day. It was a very nice stop. Food was good, average sports bar type menus but was prepared well. service was very nice. Had a nice selection of micro brews on tap. Appears they let people dine with their dogs on the patio which we liked as the dog next to us was very well behaved. Overall a great mountain town stop.

Usually don't write reviews for average restaurants however this place I was compelled to warn others. Ill equipped staff -Forgot waters for adults, forgot one of the kids chocolate milks that were ordered, forgot the pickles that came with the baskets, ordered salmon no lemon or butter but a slice of tomato and a leaf of romaine for garnish. ? Drink menu states weekly draft specials however manager wasn't aware of this when asked about it- this place has been in existence for 7 years as told by this manager aa she had to read it for herself off of the old crumbled up drink menu?!? Had 4 different waitresses at our table, forgot take out box and covers 2x. Food is average with poor staff- advertised as a black hills exclusive restaurant however knowing what I know now with losing $90 I would eat somewhere else.

Very accommodating, for large or small groups. Good variety of foods on the menu. Wait staff was very attentive. Food was average to above average. Prices appropriate.

Consistently good food. Had the buffalo burger which was good. Wife likes the salads. The waitresses are foreign culinary students and are always very polite.

Stopped on way to Mt Rushmore. Waitress sat us on patio 10 mins before they opened at 11 a.m. I had the Buffalo Burger and it was fine no complaints. Waitress were pleasant and helpful.

The burgers are good, tomato avocado salad is great, don't get the chimichanga- think Taco Bell! We'll be back, but not for a chimi!!

I just had a decent organic spinach salad with grilled chicken, diced apples, candied walnuts and red onions. It was tasty. Service was pleasant. It was a little hard to communicate with our server, but she got everything right. My husband had BBQ ribs and said it was good.

We stopped in for lunch after a visit to Mount Rushmore. The patio was pleasant, service was good, and we all enjoyed our food. We asked for water, and some of our group wanted lemon. The server brought out two pitchers, one with lemon, one without, and kept them nicely filled. They checked back on how we were enjoying our food - all was prepared to our liking. We got steak salads, burgers, fries (excellent), and I made a special request for a buffalo burger added to my salad. It was cooked perfectly, and the avocados and tomatoes were flavorful. I took off one star because they removed one of my dining companion's meal before she was finished (crossed communication?) Overall great experience.

Very friendly staff...A little slow but be patient. The food was excellent...I had the bleu cheese burger which was cooked to order(med) was awesome. My wife had the avocado and chicken salad...everything was fresh and the chicken was juicy not dry. They had a good draft slection being a tourist town.

This place is something I consider to be "a tourist trap." My husband and I were visiting Mount Rushmore on the 4th of July. We decided to stop at Grizzly Creek for lunch. 2 iced teas, an appetizer, a burger and a salad cost us over $50... whoa. (Hello, Manhattan prices!) The Raspberry iced tea was watery (and warm.) I consider myself "a Spinach Dip Expert." And the one I had at this restaurant simply did not cut it for me. My Angus Steak Salad was mediocre at best. The meat was greasy. And the Italian dressing was thick and way too sweet. The tomatoes were tasteless. My husband had the Buffalo Burger and told me that it was absolutely delicious. He described it as "lean" and "charbroiled." Our waitress was pleasant. But she had a very thick accent and was quite hard to understand.

If you're looking for lunch after spending some time at Mt Rushmore, you could do worse than Grizzly Creek. It has a very nice patio right alongside the river/creek/body of flowing water. It's your typical bar food and has a pretty limited menu (though it has a surprisingly good selection of craft beers), but what we had was solid. I had a guacamole burger, which was cooked to a nice medium, with decent guac on top and really good battered fries. Tanya had a veggie burger which was shockingly made from scratch and was really quite good. It was a little overly salty, but we definitely did not expect to find a home made veggie burger in Keystone, let alone one that was so good. The fourth star here is half because of that, and half because of our waitress, who was one of a handful of eastern European students (I assume). She was extremely nice, attentive, and just had a really bouncy personality. She told us it was nice to meet us when we were leaving. How adorable!

Great food and amazing service! It's a regular stop for us when we pass through keystone. Highly recommend the blue cheese burger with bacon

The food was great but service was extremely slow and incompetent. They took 20 minutes to come take our drink order and 10 more minutes just to bring them out. Forgot multiple items and even a whole meal. Probably won't come back.

Just arrived in Keystone after looong drive from Denver and this place hit the spot!!! Quick, friendly service. Bar menu with some salad options. We sat outside with the tiki torches and mainstream country music. We all were craving burgers at 9 pm after early lunches of salads/snacks on the road. They were just right size (that is, bigger!), perfectly cooked and yummy. Yummy.

Went there in late September and the service was slow even though there were only 3 other tables occupied in the place. The buffalo burger I ordered was very dry. Needed A-1 just to wash it down. Wife had a chicken with cheese and bacon on it which she liked however the baked potato was cold. I had soup which was also cold. Would look elsewhere to eat but do it early as this town shuts down at 9pm.

Bf and I came here after visiting Mt. Rushmore. We stayed past 9 p.m. to watch the lighting of the monument and we were worried that there wouldn't be anything open. This was also our last night in South Dakota and we both wanted to try a buffalo burger. Driving through Keystone, this was the only place open past 10 p.m. It's located in the parking lot of a motel so bf and I were skeptical but, we were in for a pleasant surprise. When we walk in, we're greeted promptly by a smiling server and seated right away. I loved the decor - it's plastered with vintage posters from the local area and the flat screen TVs gave it a modern twist. I would describe the decor was rustic-modern, not cowboy-western. The window seats have a good view of the Hwy 16 that runs though this tiny town - I enjoyed watching the bikers from Sturgis rumbling down the street. Our server, a very polite international student on a work study program, took our drink orders right away. Bf ordered a large local beer (on tap) called Blue Sky and I ordered the smaller version. The 24 oz. large was only $5.50 while my 16 oz. was $3.50 - that's a freakin' bargain from what I'm used to! Our South Dakota farmed raised buffalo burgers did not disappoint. The meat was very juicy and it had a gamey zing to it. The cheese melted on top of the meat tasted freshly sliced, not pre-packaged Kraft slices. The seasoned steak fries were perfect - crunchy skin on the outside and piping hot potato filling on the inside. This gourmet burger was only $9.95 - again, a bargain from what this CA girl is used to. If I had this meal at a local restaurant, it would be a solid 4 stars. Since I had this meal in rural South Dakota at 10:30 p.m., 5 stars - hands down. P.S. - If you need wifi, you're close enough to two motels to bum off their wifi.

The best thing I can say about this place is the beer selection is pretty good. The food is mediocre at best. I had the buffalo burger and fries. The burger was dry and tasteless and the fries were cold. It was in the upper 70's outside when I was here, so they had the doors open and some fans going. It was a little warm, but not uncomfortable. The flies were horrendous, I spent more time shooing flies than eating. Just not my kind of place. I would find something else.

This place is a tradition for us to stop at on the way back from mt Rushmore. Every time, it has not disappointed. Good selection of beer and a solid variety of food. I have tried the chicken sandwich and buffalo. Buffalo was actually pretty good. And, yes, they seem to have a different batch of exchange students every summer. Last few years were eastern european. This year, seemed to be China. Everyone is very friendly.

We stayed at the hotel directly behind this restaurant during the first half of the Sturgis Rally. We've been here each day and enjoyed it every time. Good appetizers, especially the artichoke dip with chips. Their Bourbon Burger is excellent. They have a great beer selection, including several local brews on tap. I personally have enjoyed the Crow Peak IPA. A very welcoming staff, fun! A nice patio out front. This is one of great local finds during your travels. I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner or a spot to relax from a day of hard riding.

If you like specialty craft draft beers, this is the place! They gave me free tasters of 2 craft beers. I never had tasters so big; almost 3 oz each. If given another tasters I could forgo buying beer. Lol My server was great. Three of 3 servers on duty were from the Chech Republic(Checkoslovikia b4). They are students working in USA for 4 months. RHETORICAL Q: Where are USA college students who claim they can not find summer jobs? But I diverse. The beer I selected was cold & good. The burgers were hand made mini-patties. They ad says they serve 100% USA Angus beef and it tasted like they do. There is a daily speciality drink board. We ate outside on the covered patio which is designated for none smokers. Smokers patio section is uncovered.

Excellent food - from appetizer to burger to dinner to drinks to dessert. Wait staff had strong accents but were very fast and friendly. Even after a check mix up I was highly impressed with their professionalism. Highly recommend.

We had dinner here this evening. Restaurant was full of flies. At one point I counted 20 flies on our table. 2 of the 5 orders were wrong when delivered. My wife and two daughters lost their appetite swishing flies away from their food. We could not get out of there fast enough!

Just a few steps outside the hubub of this very small tourist town, Grizzly Creek offers decent pub food, good beer selection and friendly and efficient service. Good find.

There is something VERY strange about this place. Weird vibe, weird food. The service was really attentive, but we were like the only people in the restaurant. Avoid the steak salad, but the burgers were okay.

I ordered the Buffalo Burger. It just tasted like a regular cheeseburger. Meat was dry.

My family drove up and down Keystone's main drag and came across Grizzly Creek. We had the treat of sitting next to this rude jerk who snapped at my wife, while she tried to help him. I decided on a Steak Fajita, thinking it was a safe bet. It gave me cramps within 10 minutes of ingesting it! Ps, my stomach is pretty iron clad. The fajita steak had tough grizzle... And the entire dish was drenched with oil, leaving a thorough coating in my mouth. My wife's steak salad tasted like preservatives as the lettuce appeared to be harvested from a bag. They appeared to use the same low quality steak, leaving her with the same experience. The bench seat my son and I sat on appeared as if it had'nt been wiped down in days...gross! We will not go back...
