There is nothing better than cold cool mama's ice cream during a South Carolina heat wave. Great service, good seating, and right next to the swamp rabbit trail. They even have a sense of humor with a fake spilled ice cream cone upside down on the floor... Or was it fake? Good spot!
My favorite ice cream shop!!! Worth the drive to TR for a sweet treat and a walk on the trail! The fresh waffle cones are amazing!!! The strawberry cheesecake ice cream is the BEST!!! Such a fun and cute shop! Next on my list to try is the banana split!

I am astonished that Carolina fine food has not had any reviews yet. Key to appreciating this burger joint is the understanding that it is a burger joint. I'm consistently impressed with the staff's ability to handle special orders - want fries extra crispy? - they can do that. The seafood is good. The prices (especially the lunch plate) are very reasonable. Also the chef salad is quite good. There is a Sunday blue plate but it is mostly fried fare and generally very crowded. Let's review: Carolina Fine Food is a great value for a burger joint. Don't move far from that and I expect you will be reasonably satisfied.

Nothing particularly unique, just another Waffle House but I love Waffle House! Nothing stood out to me good or bad here which is a good thing. Good service, good food, no complaints.

Well I finally had a chance to try this place out and my only regret is that I had waited so long. We had lunch here and this place is just awesome! I think everything here would be great. My wife had the BBQ and I had the quiche. Both were great! The sides are awesome as well. The people are very friendly and made us feel right at home. They even brought out some samples of other things they make and it was all great! Everything is made from scratch right there. Also they are know for their breakfast which I plan on trying out soon. They also have crafts from local artists for sale here. They even offer an art class on some evenings which includes dinner. I'm sure it's well worth the $25 per person. Overall a big winner! All this great food for my wife and myself and it was just a little over $17. If you don't try it you are missing out!!!
Chef John has built an incredible restaurant, more of a cafe, on the old Buncombe Turnpike. It is a refreshing spot of goodness in the country, north of Greenville, at the corner of the Tigerville Rd. The Drover is a real treat. The meals here start with basic ingredients, but the way they are put together is quite well thought out. For example, my favorite (and go-to meal) here is the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Salad. Based around an incredibly moist and tender large chicken breast, John makes his own jerk seasoning, with the right balance of heat and flavor. Then, a bed of high quality micro greens supports a generous helping of strawberries and pineapple, topped with feta crumbles, with a solid sprinkling of pecans. He makes his own dressings, my favorite is a custom variation of Thousand Island, called "Rowdy Yates," made with an incredible distinct smoky flavor. The atmosphere is authentic, an ancient building from the 1930's, filled with eclectic crafts. And they hold art classes here every few weeks, dinner included. Worth the drive!
This little place was recommend at the cabin we rented for the weekend. Boy was it spot on! I ordered the lunch special, French toast and bacon and hubby ordered the chicken salad. The French toast was made into a casserole with their homemade bread torn into small pieces with a streusel like topping and the bacon was crisp and probably the best I have ever had! Hubby thought chicken salad would be chicken mixed with mayo, but instead he got a plate sized meal piled with a green salad, tomatoes and more with huge hunks of chicken on the top. He ordered the smokey thousand island dressing and said it was awesome! This cute place has local artists work for sale and I won't be leaving without getting some of the hand crocheted dish clothes like my Grandmother used to make! Definitely worth the stop!

I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here for the past five years. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the Greenville area. I eat Chinese food regularly, and since I love Sesame Chicken. That's usually my measuring stick whenever I got to a new Chinese restaurant. This Sesame chicken definitely fits the bill. Prices are relatively cheap and you get very sizable portions. The staff is very friendly as well. Whenever I return to Grenville, this is my go-to Chinese restaurant.
A little hole in the wall small town oreintal restaurant right of the swamp rabbit trail. It is a very good place to eat.
If you are in the mood for Chinese, you won't be disappointed. All your favorites plus a few extras. Good portions, will be back!

Great atmosphere and wonderful coffee
Excellent coffee selection. Beans are roasted in house. Great environment. Always laid-back and welcoming.
This is a friendly little spot. I really just needed a place to meet a friend during a brief trip to S.C. for a job interview. After the interview, we wanted to meet and head up to Table Rock. I was coming from Columbia and she was coming from Hendersonville, NC. We chose the Forest Coffeehouse. I had a good cup of coffee (used a mug off the wall, which was fun because I got to choose my own mug) and a blueberry muffin. There wasn't much choice on the pastries, but it was about 2pm, so . . . . The bathroom was roomy and clean. the ambience was casual and comfortable. It looks like a great place to nurse a cup of coffee and read a book or work on the computer, as well as a place to sit with friends for a quiet chat. It's likely I will be there again if I get the job - meeting my friend for further S.C. exploration.

I came here multiple times a week when I worked in the area. The staff is friendly and personable, they knew my order just the third time in! Try the turkey dog with chili!
I am basing this reviews solely on the ice cream and service. The waitress was VERY nice. She suggested an ice cream flavor combination to my younger son. And .... I have NEVER had a waitress tell me I could refill my Coke for a Coke float. Awesome
Service and value were excellent. Veggie dogs and fries were just alright. I wouldn't say it's anything I couldn't make just as good at home.

We love this place! Today we rode the Swamp Rabbit Trail and stopped here for a great meal. We ordered the Vegetarian Crepe which was made with cornmeal, the filling piping hot with veggies and cheese. It was big enough for us to share! The coffee is excellent, some of the best ever. We were able to snag a table outside and enjoy the view of other cyclists going by. Our server was fast, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Can hardly wait to go again to try the Key Lime Crepe which we have heard is out of this world! Great food, great coffee, great people. This is going to be a destination to remember.
Excellent coffee! The latte was one of the best I've had. The crepes were generous and tasty, too.
OK, I know 2 stars seems harsh given all the 5-star reviews. I'm a TR native, and yes, I'm happy to see business booming downtown in general. This place has great potential, but they need to get some kinks worked out. Here's what's good: quality of ingredients, coffee, and friendly, polite staff. Even better are the choices of ingredients: not just home-ground whole-grain wheat flour, but corn meal, and almond flour. They also have soy for lattes. Very appreciated! Now for the kinks: 1. My latte, while decorative, was too cold. I asked that it be heated, and was told that they serve coffee at "ready-to-drink temps" (according to whom??) and that they would have to throw it out. I said, "never mind; it's ok." The waitress thanked me for my understanding but I still had to drink lukewarm coffee. 2. We had to ask for napkins. 3. We were then served our orders with only a fork. We had to ask for knives. We got them, but we noticed that no one in the place was served a knife. That really, really annoyed me. The crepes were too tough to cut with the side of the fork, and I'd never do that anyway. I tried to view at as rustic, we-don't-know-no-better TR charm, but it irritated me more that TR would project that kind of image. Pick what you want to be: hip or redneck. Having said all that, it is a really cute, albeit very loud, place, and it was packed. Commerce is good and I hope they'll clean up their act.

Consistently good specials. The hot specials are seasonal and well thought out. The hot menu items are consistent and filling. The cold sandwiches are where I hear the most people complain. I think that's where the restaurant really hasn't found a combo that avoids complaints. Yes, fries and a burger would be a great daily addition. The atmosphere is very friendly and open with options for outdoor, hightops, lowtops and even benches.
Love the atmosphere for a quick sandwich! Servers were quick and efficient. The food outstanding. The chicken salad had a wonderful extra taste of rosemary. The broccoli salad was wonderful. Try the chicken salad crusted with pecans and quickly pan-fried and served over a bed of greens. Very nice and not too pricey!
Nice little place to eat for a quick bit.

We had one of the most enjoyable dinners that I can remember. We brought friends from Ft. Wayne. The veal & tile fish was prepared to perfection. Our server Sunny was delightful. She is truly an asset. We will certainly recommend to our friends.
What a wonderful surprise. We had lunch in this secluded restaurant and resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Beautiful views. Unique food with terrific flavors. Outstanding service. The attached hotel looks like a real treasure as well. The areas reminds me of the Napa Valley. We will be back.
An absolutely wonderful evening from start to finish! The setting is gorgeous with a great view of the mountains, the service is personal, attentive and knowledgable and the mixologist is the best! Plus the outstanding food makes this such a exceptional dining experience. The menu changes daily due the use of local, fresh food. And the chefs make creative use of each and every ingredient. If you want a unique dining experience that greatly surpasses what you'll find in downtown restaurants, visit Restaurant 17!
