You cannot go wrong with the Chicken cacciatore. So good, AND it's enough for two meals! If you get a pizza with lots of toppings, ask for it well done if you like your pizza crispy. They aren't cheap with the toppings and if you get a lot of toppings your pizza may be less crunchy. And if you want it back in the oven for a couple of minutes they are all about making it how you like (my dad likes his a little burnt)

My wife and I had lunch here today. We both had Philly Cheese steak and it was very good. Waitress was very efficient and friendly. Price was very reasonable.

Had the veal here twice. The veal itself is good, but the marinara sauce is very acidic and bland. Service is always good, but Italian food is defined by the sauce in my opinion.

Nice remodel thanks to Restaurant Impossible! I had not been here before, and if it were not for the ri hype, I wouldn't know anything about it! The outside has obviously not changed as it looks run down and antiquated. I would say our dinner was mediocre. My friends had meaty strombolis that were delicious. However, the veggie pizza was disappointing. The crust was almost soggy--probably from the frozen spinach and canned mushrooms!!!! Halfway through my first slice, I realized that the spinach was definitely not fresh! I could get fresher ingredients at Pizza Hut! We also had the banzini bread which was decent, but nothing to write home about. The greek salad was different, and had an Italian spin. Hard boiled eggs, pepperoni and regular canned black olives. For the price, I can't complain, but it was far from authentic. The service was ok--the server seemed to be inexperienced and didn't (yet) have a knack for responding to customer questions and needs. Also, evidently, the owner was there. If I were the owner of a struggling restaurant, I would spend my time checking in on my customers, hence making them want to return! We were 1/4 tables and were never addressed by the owner! I'm giving 3 stars as the food was decent for a pizzeria, and the prices were reasonable. However, I would like to visit again in a few months to see the progress.

This place looks amazing after the renovations on restaurant impossible! And the food was good as well! Loved the chicken fettuccine Alfredo! My only complaint is our waiter! She barely stopped by our table to check on us. And we all sat at the table for 5-10 mins with out touching our forks waiting for her to come by so we could get our checks. It wasnt busy as we came before dinner rush so I dont understand why she wasnt checking on us more.

The margarita pizza is absolutely amazing! We've tried delivery and eat in and both times the food is fantastic. This may be our new regular spot for pizza from now on.

I knew this cantina before changes. Now the place is more clean and modern. The food is better too. I like stromboli's for lunch.

I did not wait for a tv show to drive from Hanahan to eat here. I'm Italian, I'm from Brooklyn and have to know something. Your better off here than a fake Italian Restaurant like Olive Garden or eating what passes for pizza here in Sc such as Papa whatever CiCi's and the rest of that typel service always friendly and worth gas and time to drive here. take my clients here for lunch as well when we are house hunting anywhere in the area. Further up I do stop at the one on Old Orangburg Road and Central Ave spot as well.

I'm a fettuccine Alfredo lover. This is my go to for italian food. The sauce lacks flavor. I could do better doctoring up a can of Alfredo. My husband ordered the lasagna. Now, I'm not a professional restaurant critic, but in my opinion, an italian restaurant's best dish should be their lasagna. You've gotta be pretty bad to screw up lasagna. Unfortunately, they somehow managed. The meat had a microwaved taste to it. The sauce (what little there was) tasted metalic, and it was horribly dry. I'm so disappointed. I thought after having been featured on Restaurant Impossible, I'd get at a minimum an Olive Garden double. To have both the basic Alfredo and lasagna go wrong at an Italian restaurant is a head scratcher.

Went for lunch today as we live in Columbia but prior to our move 2 months ago we lived in Summerville and ate here from time to time. We didn't know about the Restaurant Impossible renovations until we read the reviews in Yelp but it had that feel as we walked in in fact I verbalized this to my wife that it seemed like a Restaurant Impossible remodel, nicely decorated. Service was great and fast and I was very impressed with the food I asked them to whip me up something that wasn't on the menu due to a diet I am on and they gladly accommodated me and my wife ordered the Caprese salad with shrimp. Her meal looked FANTASTIC picture perfect I compared it to one of our favorite 5 star restaurants downtown Charleston Halls Chophouse so along with my meal I ordered a side order of shrimp for myself it was some of the best shrimp scampi I have eaten in years, downtown Charleston quality! One of our daily decisions involve what we are going to eat and I was happy we stopped in I won't hesitate the next time we are in Summerville in fact we are staying here another night for real estate another one of our clients will be buying a home so I think we will have lunch here again tomorrow! After my diet I want to try the pizza again.

First off, since Restaurant Impossible reworked the interior that is now up to the same standard as the food. The only problem that I have is that the women's rest room is disgusting!!! The ceiling tiles are dirty and stained, need to be replaced. Also, the rest room is dark, since the lightbulbs need to be replaced, one is missing!!!! and also the fixture needs to be dusted. Other than that , not a bad restaurant. Please clean the restrooms

As my go to for a quick slice lunch place, Robert Irvine and his design team did an outstanding job on the makeover.. Food has always been solid along with friendly management and staff. At a dinner with a friend, tried a RI Italian rice ball that was added to the menu and it was quite good.

Excellent service very friendly staff. We had the large original Stromboli, one is more than enough for two people. Nice variety of choices on the menu.

We watched the restaurant impossible makeover last month and wanted to try this place. It's pretty nice for a pizza parlor and restaurant. We ordered the garlic knots for an appetizer. They were ok and not as good as they could be. More butter and seasoning would make this dish absolutely perfect. I had the pasta carbonara which tasted very good but a little heavier than what I was expecting the cream sauce to be. The vodka with cream sauce was amazing!! My friend added chicken and shrimp and the shrimp tasted very good and cooked perfectly. It wasn't fishy tasting at all which I was worried it would be. We also got the philly cheese steak Stromboli. The only bad thing about it were the mushrooms. Our waiter said they were canned, but another waiter came by to tell us it was fresh but cooked on the grill with seasonings. They truly tasted like canned mushrooms because of the metallic canned taste. It would truly make the food better with fresh ones seeing as many people did comment on that. Overall it was a great family friendly restaurant with good quality food for the price paid. We will definitely come back!!

I have to let everyone know that Valentinos has been remodeled and is beautiful! We ordered two large pepperoni pizzas and I will say they are the BEST Summerville has! Strongly recommend!

A great value for a lunch special. Franco has a variety of different pies to choose from by the slice everyday. I get mine with a side salad. The salad is full of greens and olives and is plated quite nicely. Everything has a spot on the plate. Carrots/Olives/Red Onion/ Cukes/Cheeses. The pizza is loaded with toppings and the crust is cooked perfectly. I especially love the WINGS! There huge, and are covered with whatever sauce you wish. Great job Valentinos!! Keep it up!

I go to Valentino's quite often, I love everyone that works their. I really like Sara, she is a waitress, and is always very nice. The food is wonderful. People giving them a bad review may want to try it again.' The food is much better than most restaurants around. Their pizza is wonderful, and their antipasti salad, also their seafood combo. Maybe these people that gave bad reviews is when Valentino s was under different management. Give them another chance.

Being originally from New Jersey, I'm kind of a pizza and bagel snob. As a result, I never expected to find an authentic New Jersey pizzeria in Summerville, South Carolina. Well, Valentino's Trattoria is the real deal!!!! Emily is a charming & attentive server who made sure that the chef baked our pizza pie to a well done and crispy crust. As a result, the pizza was delicious!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
