Definitely a 3.5...possibly a four star experience. The service was great for a packed house on a fight night! We had no qualms with any of the food-not bad-not great, and the service was spot-on. Good selection of beers for the event too. Nothing went wrong here and nothing was dynamite to report. Great, (more) chill spot to watch a pay-per-view!

Well after being persuaded to come to this horrible place and give it another chance ONCE again I was not disappointed! We got a table and right after we sat down our waitress was yelling at a table and caused a scene and arguing with the table because she lost there credit card to pay for there bill. Needless to say it was a scene. Secondly we waited and so did the whole restaurant since apparently they have people in the back that can't fry chicken and fries. I waited over 30 minutes for some nuggets and SOGGY sweet potato fries. There were tons of tables that were filthy dirty and don't even get me started on the bathrooms. Needless to say corporate need to get there ass down here and clean house or bulldoze the place to the ground. The first time I went Shame on them. Second time this time shame on me for even giving this place a chance again!

High prices, food is so so, domestic bottle beer is an outrageous $3.50. Good service though

Don't care what anyone says, Kicken Chicken is the bomb! Now, I will say that I don't go there to sit and eat or anything so I can't speak for that. I strictly pick up some kicken nuggets when I want to have some beers and its late at night and I just think Kicken Chicken is a much better option that any fast food out there.

The Kickin' Chicken is basically a local version of Applebees. Sorry, it's the truth. I'd never been to a Kickin' Chicken prior to last week when I found myself in Summerville and needing lunch. It looked more appealing than the nearby fast food options and I like chicken so there you have it. We walked in and were immediately seated. I was busy taking in the sheer amount of wood paneling in the restaurant when our server arrived. She was quite perky and kept my Diet Coke full throughout the course of the meal. As for the menu, it consists of chicken, chicken, and more chicken, hence the name of the place. I opted for the Chicken Fajita Salad sans tortilla strips (it's bikini season y'all!). The salad arrived promptly and was quite large. It also wasn't particularly memorable. It's a house salad with grilled fajita chicken, peppers, onions, corn, rice, and ranch dressing. Not bad but certainly not anything to rave about. All and all the Kickin' Chicken's atmosphere is lacking, service is excellent, and food is mediocre. I would give it another try for a football game because you can't go wrong with wings and beer. Really though, just consider Kickin' Chicken the Charleston equivalent of "Eating good in the Neighborhood."

Stopped by because of the name & with the thought in mind, how can you screw up chicken? You can if it's greasy. Husband had the chicken tenders which were tender alright but they were greasy. I had a Cobb salad that was swimming in salad dressing, note to self get dressing on the side. We both love onion straws so we got an order of them, greasy. All & all the best thing was the donut bits with chocolate. Would I go back? sure for the donuts.

Few years back this place used to be pretty awesome. And because its Kickin Chicken and the other locations are great, you would think that this place would be 'kickin' The food here is about a 3-4, depending on what you get. The chicken wings are of course, still delicious, i love the dry rubs. And think that their wings are hands down better than BWW. The flatbread pizzas are also a great to try. LOVE sharing one of those - its a pretty big serving. Kids eat for free night - is a great plus - usually on Monday or Tuesday night. Few times it has changed so if you are trying to take advantage of that, you may want to call ahead to make sure of the day its being offered. the beer selection is good, about 7 on tap. the usual in a bottle/can. Like sitting at the bar bc every 30-45 mins or so (seems to be random) the bartender will give each patron at the bar a small ring. if you throw it over the free pour liquor bottles they have out together, and it stays on the neck of the bottle, you get a free drink or shot of the liquor you 'ringed'. Thought that was a cute and inventive game for the patrons there. Trivia here is pretty popular and fun. Though because the place is pretty big it can take longer than you are used to if you are a regular trivia player like we are. Service is always hit or miss, and this is honestly the biggest complaint i have about the place. Otherwise, its not bad, but i dont go out of my way to go there.

Food is average run of the mill that comes off of a Sysco or U.S. Foods truck but not too bad. Ollie, Hollie, Ali....whatever her name is completely sucks and should go find a job as a hostess somewhere because she certainly doesn't pay attention to her bar customers. Only 8 people at the bar and she still gives sh***y service.

Great good, incredibly friendly and attentive staff. Our server was Mindy - she was awesome! The food was delicious and happy hour drink prices were a great deal.

We had such a great time here. Ask or Derrick Scott Chance. He is an awesome server. We were from our of town and he kept us laughing and our drinks were never empty. The food here was great. I had a kickin chicken sandwich with fries. We also had the fried pickles for an appetizer with homemade ranch. Everyone here was so friendly.

I just wanted to brag on the bartender, Gali. She is so personable and attentive. She took the time to make sure I had everything I needed all while demonstrating a fun attitude. That can be pretty hard to come by these days! Level of service can definitely make or break any dining experience. She made mine!

I LOVE this place! Doesn't matter which location I go too (Mt. Pleasant, Downtown Charleston or Summerville), always fantastic food and service! Everything on the menu is excellent. Some of our fav's are the stuffed pretzels, wings and kick'n chicken italian sandwich. HUGE upside to the meals is their "kick butt" ranch dressing!!!! The outdoor seating deck is perfect to enjoy the beautiful SC weather and cold beverage!

I see some other reviews and to list this place lower than a four you all are insane. They compensate you tremendously for your trouble if you have any. Tonight is my first time coming here and the wait was about 15-20 mins long. After waiting for about 15 mins we were seated. We already knew what we wanted from waiting so we ordered. Our waiter (Tim) waisted no time and putting in our order. We waited another 15 mins or so to get our food but it was well worth it. The food was delicious. I tried there signature kicking chicken sandwich fried with fries and my wife had there Caesar chicken salad. Both taste amazing and was a good amount for the price. The waiter came to our table a lot mostly apologizing for the wait which wasn't bad but I guess they have high standards for there restaurant so In addition they gave us a 25% off discount. I was so pleased with this meal that I signed up threw there loyalty card program and will be coming back for more. One hell of a first impression.

I should have known better than to order delivery, since the brick & mortar wasn't all that hot. But I did...kickin' myself. The order I called in was a cheeseburger and pasta salad for myself and the order taker ran thru the list of condiments...I selected lettuce, mayo and ketchup. Ordered something for my husband also but I don't remember what it was. Doesn't matter. The food arrived, and I can honestly say it was about the biggest mess I'd ever seen in a Styrofoam container. I'm sure they must have closed their eyes when they plopped everything in there. The burger was borderline overcooked, lukewarm and flavorless, thrown onto a cold bun. There were NO condiments at all (why'd you ask me then, girly?). The pasta was approximately in the area of its compartment. It was very obvious they had staff that could care less. Note to Kickin Chicken people: you're never supposed to have hot and cold items together. The pasta salad should have had it's own container. My husband's was the same general mess. Fountain drinks we A-OK tho...score! We barely ate...salvaged what we could and tossed the rest. I'd settle for half of our money back.

For this review, I am going to deal with wings and beer only-such a wonderful combo-- The Smithwick's was pouring "oddly" as per the bartender, so I had a hard cider to start- The bartender poured me some of the Smithwick's as proof of the issue, good start and she was quite attentive, interactive and helpful my entire time there. Two wing selections 6 each = 12 costs $9.79, about $1.50 cheaper on Mondays Specials. The Hot Honey Garlic and the Lemon Pepper were served quickly, they were meaty and not overly assaulted by the sauce as does occur in other wing locations (I really want to name drop here, but I am going to refrain, read a few reviews past if the curiosity is too much to handle). In most wing places, Summerville and beyond, the coat of seasonings seems to be done with a shaker and much too late in the cooking process--IE: at the end. One could literally blow the lemon pepper dust right off the wing or leg. KickinChicken's were granular bits of pepper, nicely course which really enhances flavor to an intense level, almost getting that nasal twitch. I ordered another beer-Stella Artois on tap in a Stella glass was a perfect combo. The Hot Honey Garlic was equally flavorful and prepared properly. The honey from the wing was golden brown and when you took another wing from the serving dish, it was tacky and stringy, just like honey, real honey would do. **Stay tuned for an update**

This is a bar.. that serves food. First thing that hits you is that funky bar smells. They need to air this place out!! The service was strained; we had a great waiter but he needed help desperately. The salad was warm but the sweet potato fries were cold! The salad was lifeless, bagged salad mix, wasn't chilled, sad little grape tomatoes and a couple (2) slices of cucumber. How can your food be slow and still be cold? A mystery. The sweet potato fries are not fries, they are waffle fries, which are even worse cold since they are so big. The chicken nuggets were cold too. And everything was extremely salty. The only saving grace was the great waiter and the fried pickles. However, this is not enough for me to go back. Just avoid it for a decent lunch. I can not comment on the bar.

A year ago I saw this place and was intrigued by the name and the neon version of the logo on the outdoor sign. This trip I first went to the website and then went to the restaurant. I ordered the Italian Kickin Chicken sandwich, which included marinara sauce and melted provolone cheese. Since chicken sandwiches are the signature dish of this place, I expected something really special. I was rather surprised when the sandwich was served on a deli roll and not a bun. This means the chicken sandwiches are not a large chicken breast as I had expected and are instead chopped chicken pieces. The melted cheese and sauce overpowered the chicken. I took a few bites and actually wondered if I had bit into chicken at all. I also thought the sandwich was a small portion, and didn't leave feeling as if I had eaten enough for dinner. My server provided slightly below average service. The Bar was full of locals, and the group near me was certainly entertaining.

This place has really good wings. They are some of the best wings I have had from a non-wing specific chain restaurant. The key thing...they are not frozen. That is huge and they have good sauces. If you are a wing lover try it out.

Stopped in around 10:30pm on a Thursday night and they still had a pretty good crowd. The food was fine, and chicken-centric (hence the name..). Nothing to complain or brag about. Our server was sweet and attentive. Seems like a cool place to hang out to watch sports or just have a few drinks with friends. I would definitely go back.

Best wings in Summerville. Best fried pickles anywhere. Service is hit or miss, usually miss. This is especially true with take-out. If you order to-go, CHECK YOUR ORDER! Most of the food here is good. If it were not for the service issues, I could manage another star.

Good selection of Chicken centered food. Big bar and lots of TVs. Plenty of nice looking waitresses and good service. Slow sometimes, especialy if it's busy. Really crowded on UFC nights, big bowl games, or Super Bowl.

I tried the lemon and pepper wings and the cajun chicken sandwich. I didn't expect the cajun chicken sandwich to be chopped chicken breast pieces. The sandwich tasted okay (dry, more towards the bland side) but there was a good amount of chicken in there so it filled me up nicely. The lemon and pepper wings were delicious. It helped me eat my dry chicken sandwich. I would've gave this place another half star for service but Yelp doesn't allow me too. My server was really nice but I didn't see him too much. The place is packed with families and I was eating alone so there was probably a preference for tables with a higher bill. I asked him about the blood on one of the wings if it was okay to eat. He assured it was okay and didn't charge me for the wings so that's good service to me.

Decent location for various chicken dishes. The buffalo sauce is very different. More of a dry, teriyaki type taste (unless my order was wrong). I had a wrap here once that was delicious, but the burgers are just average. Seats a lot of people and we'll mostly see families eating here.
