Healthy Meal suggestions for China Wok

  • If you are going to try this place I would recommend takeout. Setting area is small and awkward also you will leave smelling like fried food. Fried rice is unfortunately the typical yellow bland rice with strange pink type pork bits in it. Egg roll has the same bland pink meat. General Taos sauce wasn't spicy and meat quality didn't seem to be the best. Mongolian beef was actually decent I really like the dressing and veggies. Sweet and sour chicken was the typical stuff you'll find at any Chinese buffet.

  • Tried this the other day based on the fantastic reviews. I'm sitting at 4 stars for now until I try more, but based on the chatter, I can see it going up to 5. The orange beef was up there, but the vegetable lo mein was great. Easily the best I've had at your typical Chinese restaurant. I will update this after ordering a few more times. Looking forward to more...Keep it up Wok!

  • Food was greasy and overcooked. The hot tea was an odd color and was too hot to drink even after sitting for a few minutes. I did not enjoy the food at all but the service was good.

  • Not fancy; but the food is fresh and prepared well. I certainly understand the high rating. During our visit here, a patron waiting for his order informed us that this is the best Chinese food in town. I believe it.

  • Best of the best! Delicious Chinese food, and fast service. Love the chicken wing w/ fried rice. We order food at least once a week and never been disappointed. Always fresh!

  • Fairly typical take out restaurant. The food was good, generous portions. Overall pretty good.

  • Best Chinese food in Summerville, hands down. Exactly what you would expect from any big city take-out joint. Family run, always good. Go in, order, go next door to Bi-Lo for milk and bread, come back, pick up and go. Owner always remembers repeat customers.

  • Typical Chinese takeout venue! Food made to order so incorporate that in wait time!the have tables of you wanna dine in but most are taken by people waiting for takeout. The prices are reasonable! The food is tasty but a little greasy! One complaint if you don't ask for silverware you won't get any! My experience is always pleasant!

  • Do NOT order lumpia expecting to get a small roll with pork and veggies. Their version is as big as an egg roll and contains no meat, only veggies. This is our go-to spot to order Chinese food. My mom accidentally ordered from the chinese restaurant right across the way, and although we obviously ate that food, it confirmed that China Wok is the best option in the Sangaree area.

  • I've been searching for a favorite Chinese restaurant since I moved here this summer. THIS IS IT! The food is amazing! It is prepared very quickly, and the prices are very affordable. Don't come here for the ambiance - it's a "hole in the wall" Chinese place. Come here for the food, and keep coming back. You won't be sorry. An added bonus, the owner will remember you quickly and know what you want before you have to say it. :)

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
