This place is, indeed, the real deal. The owner is from Philly. The Cheesesteaks were pretty damn authentic. *Fresh buns *shaved beef *melted american cheese Also good fries. My picky kids each ate a plain cheesesteak and a chicken-cheesesteak and didn't complain. It's only about 10 minutes out of your way if you're on I-85.

This place is truly the real deal. For all the people saying it wasn't like Pat's, or Geno's or whatever, well, duh! Those places are tourist attractions and pump out tons of mediocre sandwiches using cheezwhiz. So if you're really from the Philadelphia area you know that they aren't the places to get REAL cheesesteaks. What they serve here at the Real Deal IS. Juicy steak on a soft roll with american cheese (onions and peppers if you're so inclined) and that's it. Yes it takes time, but they cook it fresh, and you can always call to order ahead if time is a concern. We've eaten here tons of time and have never had a bad meal. The only thing I miss about Norristown is the food, and so when I need a fix I go here. They never let me down!

This place has great food. I have to be careful and not eat here too much because I could see myself getting fat off their sandwiches. Definitely a great place to pick up a Philly Cheesesteak. My only gripe it's a little expensive but it's worth the price.

I got the Real Deal Cheese Steak. This IS as good as it gets. I just got back from Philly and this beats what I had there. It had a depth of flavor that I have not found in any other. I think the gentleman that took my order was the owner. He really cares about what he is cooking and it shows. Thank you, I will be back!!

A coworker and I were in Spartanburg, SC on business today and it was lunchtime. A Yelp search brought up The Real Deal, so we came here for a cheesesteak. We both ordered a small cheesesteak with mushrooms, onions, and peppers. Cokes. The sandwiches came with a bag of potato chips. My friend panicked because this is a CASH ONLY place and he was only carrying $15. LOL! The bill for two small cheesesteaks and sodas were $23, so I stepped up and paid. Folks, FWIW, it is always a good idea to carry at least $50 in cash for situations like this. The sandwich was tasty, but they were skimpy with the fillings, and the price was too high. My coworker, who has eaten at Pat's King of Steaks in Philly, said that his sandwich was "average" - good, but nothing special. I agree. Regulars will probably pitch a fit at the above statement, but here's what I'm comparing it to: yelp.com/biz_photos/hous… Now THAT'S a cheesesteak, (AND it was much less expensive.) Service was extremely good. Everyone in the place was really nice and friendly, and they all asked us if our food was okay. The dining room is off to the left side down the hallway, and it's tiny, but the restaurant was clean and sufficient for three or four tables of diners. The adjacent wall is plastered roof to floor with pictures of satisfied customers. If I were ever in the area again, I would stop here again. When these people adopt me into their family, and if I become a regular, my rating will likely rise by one star. ;o)

The name says it all. This is the Real Deal. Owner and Operator could not be nicer. He knows his stuff and really friendly while he's working. I got the "Real Deal" with everything. It is awesome. I will definately be back.

I lived in Philly for 3 years so I think I'm a good judge of cheesesteaks. We loved the real deal and Ernest (the owner) made the stop even more enjoyable! I might even go as far as to say they are better than Philly! I loved the flavors of the real deal cheesesteak. Like Ernest said "it's an explosion in your mouth!" We will definitely be stopping again!

This is a GREAT cheesesteak! Wow! I had the bacon cheesesteak with onions and it was fantastic. Will definitely stop here whenever I come through Spartanburg. A true hidden gem. Fries were good. Owner/cook takes pride in his food and it shows.

Awesome Philly cheesesteak. Friendly staff that was happy to review the menu with me. Real deal sandwich was excellent. Remember cash only but they do have an ATM. Cheese wiz fries were exactly what you would expect - a guilty pleasure, and heavily peppered.

I have had great hoagies from the likes of places like Geno's Steaks. I didn't think I could find anything better. I went to the Real Deal here in Spartanburg, SC and it was love at first bite! You gotta come by and try a Philly Cheese Steak hoagie at this place. You will think that you were transported to Philly :-). I highly recommend this place.

Liberty Bell is a perfect philly cheese and I have had all of the well-knowns in PA, DE,and MD. I will withhold the 5th star for a follow-up visit.

I never expected to find such a great Philadelphia Cheesesteak in li'l ol Sparkle City...but this place delivered. Huge, steaming hot and sensational flavors in the Liberty Bell, my personal favorite. Would highly recommend this place, though its very unassuming from the outside.

The Real Deal is great! After the first time I ate there both of my arms went numb. Not just the left, but BOTH! It was a helluva sensation; the sandwich was awesome. After that I became quite the regular. I'll admit the service can be iffy at times. More than once I've called several times to place and order and no one answer the phone. Then I'd drive by only to realize they were slammed and ,as noted by Wilbur, there would only be one person there. Before you know it, they start to feel like part of the family. Example, I turned my brother on to the the place and he too loved it. However all their sandwiches have street names instead of something simple like bacon-cheese-steak. So later when my brother called to place an order without me, he didn't know exactly what to order. So he asks the owner's daughter, "What does my brother usually get?" To that she asked, "You want mayonnaise on that?" She got it right, and by the way Wilbur, I'm white!

Good food the one time I ate there but took a while to get my food even though I was the only customer there. Run by a black family. The owners daughter was working it by herself the day I went. Acts like she doesn't care for "whitey" customers so I've not been back as she was very unfriendly.
