I am a college student and frequently go here with my friends (they love it too). The woman who owns it is very very nice. She will always remember who you are and what you like, even after only your first visit. Good prices. Great staff. Excellent food.

This place looks sketch. There are no windows. The front door is not the actual entrance. The entrance is some sketch looking side door. If you can get past all that, this place is solid. It's much nicer on the inside, albeit a little old. The service is friendly and helpful. They have all the staples of a typical Chinese restaurant. I got the general tso chicken and my gf got the dragon and phoenix (general tso and shrimp). The general tso had some nice heat to it and was the perfect portion size. We were both very pleased and would go back. Don't let the appearance scare you off.

This is my FAVORITE Chinese Restaurant. It has been in Spartanburg for a long time, and I have been going there since before I can remember. Everything on the menu is great. The Hot & Sour soup is the best I have ever had. I have tried Hot & Sour soup at a lot of other restaurants and not one has lived up to the Hot & Sour soup at New China! The restaurant is pretty spacious and is classily decorated in a Chinese theme. It's great for both dine-in and take-out orders. (They even have those fun fold up cardboard take-out boxes) The owners are very friendly and always remember what we like to order! If you have never been to New China, go there today! I think it is the best Chinese Restaurant around!

This restaurant serves incredible Chinese food. This is not like take-out; Its fresh tasting, very filling, and doesn't leave you with a stomach ache afterwards. The owner, although lacking polished english, is intelligible and very friendly. Although its a stereotype, I recommend the General Tso's with pork fried rice and egg rolls or the Peking Duck. Incredible meal for 2 with drinks at 20 dollars. DON'T let the lack of windows scare you away! Between the quality of the food, the affordable prices, and the friendliness of the waitstaff, the quirks of this seemingly creepy and unpopulated restaurant make eating a meal there an enjoyable and funny experience.

I was in Spartanburg for business and decided to try this place. As has been said, don't let the outside scare you away. We almost left. Glad we didn't leave. Great Chinese food. Loved it. The owner was very friendly.

First time here.... Don't let the looks scare you away! This older place has excellent food at reasonable prices. We started off with fried dumplings, which were better than many places in the Upstate. I had the spicy Orange Chicken. It was also excellent. My daughter had Sweet and Sour chicken, which she loved, and had enough to take back to her dorm for dinner. Chicken Chow Mien was the dish of choice for my wife, along with hot tea. The food was piping hot!!! I will be back here soon.

Very good orange chicken. Every dish includes some veggies. Very nice lady working the cashier - we eat here enough that she's beginning to know where we are from and where we work. It's a little rough around the edges just looking at the exterior, but I've always been pleased with the service and product.
