Normally I would have a problem with paying $25 for fast food but in all honesty, Jake's was totally worth it. I am not a fan of meat by any means, but recently my husband has talked me into trying a few burger joints and so far Jake's is my new favorite burger joint! Being a food snob, I was hesitant to eat at a restaurant in a strip mall, but hey...I'll try anything once. I got the double bacon Jake and my only complaint is that they put that precooked bacon on the burgers. It was juicy and cheesy and the onion rings that come with it were awesome. It wasn't greasy by any means which shocked me because I have an issue with fried food. My husband ordered the same thing as myself and my daughter got the kids hotdog with fries. She ate every bit and then ate my husbands fries as well. Really good food and for a decent price when you think about it. It normally costs over $20 anyway at a fast food joint because my husband eats like a bear, but at Jake's, he left full and happy. Cool beans is all I can say! We will definitely be back the next time I need a red meat fix.

I really enjoyed the burger I got. I ordered the philly burger. The meat was fresh and the fries were also great. I thought the price fit the quality.

Well the best burger quest continues. Thought I was going to have a solid contender in Jake's but was let down like a girl who didn't put out after prom. Gripe #1- how hard is it to get/make a decent French fry ? Obviously almost impossible. These looked promising, but 2 min after sitting @ the table they cooled down to a limp under seasoned "fry". Gripe#2- Cost. This place for what you get is overpriced. If it was say $2.50 less for a burger, fry & a drink it would almost rate 4 stars. Well actually it wouldn't , but, I might eat here again. Gripe#3- well this is a combo. The burger although seasoned well just wasn't that impressive. Plus not having the option to have it cooked to my desired temp is a huge negative. The staff really didn't seem all there. Did not explain all the sauce options. (Still not sure about them) it was just an awkward borderline uncomfortable ordering situation. Now for the good stuff!! 1- the bun was good 2- the chili & slaw on my Carolina burger was the saving grace for an otherwise average burger. 3- i never have to eat here again. Once was plenty. So to sum it up. Jake's is an overpriced average "chain store" burger that doesn't even brake the top 10 in my personal quest for the best burger in the area. Save your money & go to Ike's or Nu-way for a real burger. Shoot Denny's makes a better burger than Jake's ( bigger & cheaper).

Double bacon cheeseburger is the bomb! If you get a combo meal with fries get a side of their chipotle mayo to dip them in. Their shakes are awesome too! One of my favorite burger joints.

Perfect place to get a great tasting burger & fries. Nice dinner feel with large screen TV's. So you could take in some football while you eat. The food is awesome & the service is above average. Cleanliness is outstanding. I had the chili cheeseburger and a order & fries.

A little pricier than Fuddruckers, but a whole lot better! The Philly Burger and onion rings were amazing, and the buns were so soft. If you feel up to it, they offer a Triple, Triple burger which is made up of 9 hamburger patties and at least 9 slices of ooey gooey cheese between a bun. Classic food done right!

All in all, Jake's Wayback Burger is okay. It's got good deals such as $7.99 for a "Jake Cheeseburger" meal with fries and drink. But does Jake's hope to compete with superior chains like Fuddruckers, Culver's, or even Wendy's? Service was good but the burger was pretty average. It was juicy, but it tasted frozen. The flavor of the pepper jack cheese was merely there. It cost 75 cents to add bacon, and you don't get a lot of bacon. I had another burger with onions. The onions tasted like they came out of a jar. The onion rings were surprisingly tasty. They were beer-battered, but for $4 you don't get a lot of them. While pleased with my experience, I have had a much better burger at Fuddruckers up the road. This is just average. If I had no choice but to eat at Jake's I would but if I can bear sparing 2 more dollars I'd rather go to Fudd's. One thumb down, one thumb up... that's all I'm gonna say.

I wanted to give this place 4 stars but the good food wasn't enough to overcome the appalling bad service! We tried them out mid-afternoon on a Saturday, single guy eating his order at a table, no one in line and we stood there and stood there waiting for our order to be taken! The young shift manager was busy having a chat with the grill cook, the cashier was on the phone taking an order, another supervisor was busy on the other register clocking another employee out on their break, another employee standing outside the counter chatting with a Waffle House waitress, and we spotted yet another random employee just lurking about... Seriously!?!? you call this service? 7 employees and no one could take our order!?!? Ordered food finally, the cashier basically whispered as their point of sale system is so close to their grill and loud hood exhaust system that I wasn't entirely certain she got our order right, paid, got drinks, napkins, etc, sat down at table and the food came out. Unfortunately both our sandwich orders were wrong! No surprise there! Once we got that all sorted out the socializing employees disappeared to the back and left grill cook to hold the front down which wasn't tough as NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THERE. Food was good, not spectacular but on par with my expectations for this type of place. The service? Forget about it.

The food and service are absolutely amazing. Prices are high but quality matches cost. Seating can be a problem at peak times since it's a small building.

The burgers are great and good fries too. It's a step above most fast food places. A great place to get lunch if your in a hurry.
