Great place for everyone, weather you're a local or just passing through The Oasis is the place to go. 2 pool rooms, dance floor, and full liquor bar. Place is a must see! 3 miles west of I-95 right off exit 98. Best burgers and chicken wings around!l
My favorite "watering hole" since 2003. Nice mix of locals, out of town golfers, and travelers just passing through.
Most folks hit a new town and ask where the locals go. Well, this is it. Good food, good folks. Everybody was friendly. Music on the weekends with no cover.

This place is a gem in this small town. From the service to the food you'll know a sense of pride filters from the ownership down to the team. I'm not a huge deli fan but I could eat there every day for the rest of my life. In fact I think I just decided what I'm having for dinner tonight. Mmmmm....roast beef!
Nice clean place. Owners very nice and helpful. They use Dietz and Watson branded meats and cheeses. Not boars head but still decent quality. Definetly will return. A lot better than the nasty fast food choices. Btw I ordered the Craigs Club sub. It was a good sandwich. Fresh and tasty. You will not mistake this sandwich for a true New York sandwich. But very good quality sandwich.
If your driving 95, take exit 98 to Santee for fresh, homemade sandwich and salads. The tuna fish is delicious on homegrown lettuce and tomato. The coleslaw was handcut and crunchy. Great stop for lunch!

We ate dinner here while staying at the quality inn which it is part of. The service was good, very friendly, and the tables were clean. We had the specials of the day meatloaf and the other spaghetti and meat balls. Both were home cooked and very good. The potions were generous. Neither came with a salad but what do you expect for $9.00? It was very nice not having to drive after putting in a very Long day of driving.

Really nice restaurant with good food and service. I went with a group of 8. We were well taken care of and the variety or appetizers and meals we got were all well received. I personally tried the calamari appetizer and the shrimp & grits--both very good. Decent wine, beer, and liquor choices. Would not recommend for children. More of an adult night out.
Yelp says this restaurant is open all day. It's not. We went for an early dinner at 2:20 on a Saturday. They aren't open till 5.
We had stopped at our destination for the night and since this restaurant was right next door, we thought we'd give it a try. We were seated right away and our server, Mary Ann came to take our drink orders and tell us about the dinner specials. She was so pleasant and when we asked questions was very informative. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and it was served with a marinara sauce. It was really good. For our entrees we ordered the stuffed grouper on Mary Ann's recommendation. It was delicious--nicely flavored and prepared just right. We had a choice of sides and I decided to get brave and try the grits. I was surprised at how good they were, but Mary Ann had said they were good and she was right. Of course, they had cream and butter and other sinful things in them! Also had the salad with blue cheese and pecans. Yum! Husband enjoyed his sides too. Needless to say, we were too full for dessert, but the offerings looked good from what we saw going to other tables. If ever in the area again, this would be a place we would definitely return to.

Peking Restaurant

160 Plaza Cir
Santee, 29142
Reviews:
my husband and I were traveling south with a nite in Santee. It was a Sunday and we needed dinner. We found the Peking Restaurant. We did takeout and order from the combination menu. We waited only 10 min for our meal. The portions were ample, the veges fresh and shrimp succulent. Hot and sour soup , though lacking wood ear, was seasoned in a manner that was just slightly hot. Though the restaurant was empty when we walked in to order, take outs were streaming thru. I recommend it as an alternative to some of the pricer places around. Note that the other Asian restaurant is closed on Sunday
Server made me feel rushed. Food tasted good, but was cold. We were the only table at 3pm. No reason to hurry us along.
We just had dinner in this establishment, and it is undoubtedly the most unsanitary, disgusting, dirty restaurant I have ever seen. EVERYTHIng in the dining room is sticky, and covered in old crusted oily food residue. We walked in and there were 5 tables uncleaned and piled with dirty dishes, and they were never cleaned off. We thought that a large group had just left, but the tables were never cleaned. The drinks were warm which made me question if their coolers were working, and when we asked for ice - they brought 4 cubes in a glass, which made me think that they were keeping a limited quantity in in a cooler or something... This was the outside restaurant where people eat. I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like. No one should eat in this restaurant, ever. As for the food, the one star is for the dumplings. They were good, truly-- thick, doughy skin characteristic of the best pot stickers. In addition, my son ordered the fried chicken wings, which were also good. Plump, crispy and piping hot. EVERYTHING else, however was horrific. The sweet and sour soup was salty. Made with regular ingredients like button mushrooms, carrots, and green peppers instead of the proper ingredients such as lichen, shiitake, bamboo, etc... And WAy too much vinegar. When I asked for the Kung pao to be made extra spicy, I was told that they don't use hot chilies to cook with-- only green bell peppers, and to add spice they only use chili oil.... My first clue, and the point when I should have left. Honestly, Santee is a disgusting choice for a meal, but if you have to eat there-- I suggest grabbing some chips and a soda at the Citgo.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Pulled into this Cracker Barrel right behind a tour bus. I considered turning around and coming back another day, but my daughter had her heart set on dumplings. So, we went inside. The hostess quickly seated the bus load of retirees and still had room for my daughter and me. Our server was able to respond to us quickly and the manager on duty was making frequent rounds to pick up the slack. The food was what we expect from CB which is why we go there - no surprises. I was very impressed with their ability to accommodate that large crowd and still serve their regular customers without delay.
So it was camp time again and as its tradition went to Cracker Barrel after picking my child up from Camp Adam Fisher (20th June 2015). Everything was super nice like it has was last year. Server was very attentive - then my son says there is a bug swimming in his chicken and dumplings. Which there was, looked to me like a carpet beetle. Got the waitress and she said yes I will take care of that and brought out another portion without asking us. There was no way we were eating anything else there. Then the manager came over and asked what the problem was and said he would take care of the bill - which is what I would expect. We then left. There is more... That afternoon all four of us had bad tummy upsets so it wasn't just the bug in my sons chicken and dumplings. Not sure if we will be going there next year after camp. Really put us off to be honest.
Quick food while on a road trip. Pecan crusted catfish was pretty good. Mashed potatoes were a little bland. Seasonal veggies were fresh. Pork chops were a little on the cold side but the flavor was good. Baked sweet potato was yummy. Lemonade was tasty. Everyone is nice and friendly.

Don't let the shark fool you. This place is its own being. Great bar with fun atmosphere. It even has a booby bar in the back. The food portions are huge for the most part. If you are ordering shrimp baskets you may want to order more than one. The bar tenders are fantastic. The owner is also a great guy. TVs all over for the sports fans. Two thumbs up. Reccomended for a down south good time.
My party if 3 all had steaks and when our baked potatoes came out they were burnt when we sent them back they came back the same and the steak had about as much flavor as a flip flop!!
Very nice place. I was skeptical of coming here at first but was surprised by the food and atmosphere. I had Fish Taco and it was good. Not much selection of beers but I found a good one. Worse of coming..!!!

It was ok nothing special. My husband got the smoked brisket which tasted like pot roast it didn't taste like it was smoked. but it was tasty. The casserole of the day was broccoli which was good-- broccoli and cheese with a bread crumb topping. The soup of the day was corn and shrimp chowder. There was plenty of corn and potatoes in it, but not a single shrimp in my bowl. It was better than the fast food options but nothing special.
We stopped here on the way to Florida. Were expecting a mid to upscale lunch experience compared with options around, which were all fast food. The place is nice, but we ordered the fried chicken (supposedly the house specialty) and it was a terrible experience. They didn't tell us that it was going to take "about 30 min" until after we had complained. 45 min later, 2 orders of 1/4 chicken came out. One dark and the other white meat (we had ordered 2 white meat), and they were greasy and tasteless. Moreover, they had less meat than a small pigeon. My wife's salad was decent enough, but if you are ever here: don't order the fried chicken. You will be much better off at Boston Market, for that money. A total waste of very precious time in a very long road trip.
I gave this place two stars for it's throwback look of country Inns of yesteryear. The food was honestly some of the worst I've ever had. I foolishly asked if I could request a temp on my pork tenderloin!! OMG!! It came out somehow over cooked and cold at the same time. The spiced apples were canned and stauffers spinach casserole would have been an improvement on their "homemade" version. How the sweet potato was scalding hot while the rest of the dish barely tepid I'll never know....they must have been microwaved at different times!

Great fried chicken. If you are traveling by Santee, SC and your stomach is telling something. Its telling you "hey, stop at Bojangles and get me some food." Bojangles has the best biscuits. THis location is on the inside of a gas station and does have a drive thru. It is just in front of the Hampton Inn. Food B Staff C Decor D Location C Health Inspection Grade A
Stopped in for a quick breakfast/lunch and opted for a pair of Egg and cheese biscuit's. They were well made, with a not too overpowering buttery taste on the biscuit. The store was clean and the servers were attentive. Folks talk about Hardee's or McDonald's for Breakfast biscuits, but for me, it's Bo Time at breakfast time. Recommended. @Removeyourhat
Clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Did not wait for food. Love the buttery biscuits.

Maurice’s BBQ Piggie Park

263 Britain St
Santee, 29142
Reviews:
My wife and I shared a Chicken and Pork combo and a Ribs and Brisket combo so we could get a taste of everything Maurice's had to offer. Overall, the food was okay and we'd probably look for a different BBQ joint in the area if that's what we were craving. === THE GOOD === - Mustard-Based Sauce. Hands-down this is the best mustard-based BBQ sauce we've ever had, and we've had quite a few! === THE BAD === - Pricey. Most BBQ places have much lower prices than Maurice's. It was a bit on the expensive side for what you get. - Sauce Options. Although the mustard-based sauce makes you not crave other sauces, if you're looking for something else, you have VERY limited options.
DON'T EAT HERE. The bbq pork was a pureed mush served over rice. The potato salad was dried out. The chicken club sandwich = fried breaded filet + 1 slice American cheese + 1 slice of fried bacon in 3 separate curls + a hamburger bun. Edible, yes. What I expected, not at all. 2 17yo boys didn't like anything ordered, and they like absolutely everything. Mac n cheese was "awful". Daughter's chicken sandwich was a fried breaded filet, so thin that chicken was all but indiscernible. The floor was sticky everywhere. Outside dining accommodation were a single cramped picnic table next to a trash can and cigarette butt receptacle, apparently for employees not patrons. I'm pretty sure the Cracker Barrel within walking distance serves BBQ, and it guarantees to be better. NO STARS (but yelp requies at least one)
Why Maurice's BBQ Piggie Park has a 4 star rating on Yelp confounds me. It is the worst BBQ experience I've ever had. And I'm not nitpicking here... lets go through the sins committed during during the EPIC SHITSHOW.. Mac n' Cheese with unmelted cheese and mushy overcooked noodles.Oh and come on, how's about just a LITTLE bit of salt? Pepper maybe? Flavor? Pulled Pork sammich so dry that even after pouring a quarter of their "special sauce" - which hilariously they bottle sell in expensive boxes - still left me chocking on this dried up pork. I can make better, moister pulled pork without even smoking it. The bun should be toasted and buttered was just a plain toasted on a brill bun and why no crunchy slaw? After 2 bites, I was done. Slaw that tasted like relish and looked like green goop. Under-fried Hush-Puppies. Still liquid in the middle. What the fuck? I tasted the food from the others at my table. The insanely overcooked dog was so salty I felt my arteries harden and clog after one bite. The ribs are so tasteless and bland that even the mix of mustard and relish Maurice's BBQ Piggie Park calls BBQ sauce couldn't save them. French fries - only freshly cooked item served - came from a bag of frozen fries. Hell, even the soda fountain was improperly calibrated. Oh and did I mention the table, booths and floors were sticky, the ceiling atmosphere conditioners outlets were so dirty I was afraid of getting infected with spores. To eat there is to encourage, to enable the grotesques atrocities that stain self-respecting BBQ joints.
