Groucho’s Deli

I always love a sandwich from Groucho's and have kept this location on my radar for one of those trips to or from Myrtle when I have time to stop for a quick bit. On my way up for thanksgiving weekend, I was able to do just that. This location is tucked in next to the Food Lion on 17 in Pawleys. The space inside is actually pretty big thought. Probably the biggest of any I've been to around SC. Nothing fancy, as expected, but they do have tons of cool local art for sale all over the walls. I noticed one of the tables was a painted surf board too... nice touch. As for the food, same delicious sandwiches you'd get at another Groucho's. I hadn't been in a while so I had to opt for my all time favorite STP Dipper (I know, so unoriginal but I love it) and my friend got one of the local favorites. If I remember correctly it was a combo of hot pastrami and turkey with 45 sauce... it was excellent. I'd love to have that on the "dipper" sub roll. We had a little confusion when I ordered double meat. I guess the girl was new and wasn't familiar. Typically if you order double meat, it comes out as a larger sub than the original. As I tried to explain this, she thought I wanted two separate sandwiches. We got everything figured out with the manager, who was really nice, and got my sub to perfect parameters.
Best subs on the beach! Apollo Dipper - love the melted swiss and the Route 45 sauce. It's the best! Mid East Special - if you like pastrami and salami, this is the sub for you! So fresh! Love the dipping sauce.
Service was good. Sandwiches were great! Perfect for taking to the beach for lunch. Average price of sandwich was $6-7. Lots of meat on sandwich and loved the special sauce. Would eat there again.

Bad food, I got so sick dining there two days ago. Taking home the left-over (not knowing the dinner made me sick already) I didn't noticed at first that certain vegetables were already rotten and some weird piece within the food until the next day (left-over). I then got a call from my friend who as well notified me that she got so sick eating something totally different than I did. To make it brief: I almost guarantee the ingredients (vegetables and chicken in our case) is outdated. This place is always "almost empty" which might be reason the food is not fresh! I will not go back even though I gave it another try after having a bad experience in the past. I just love Thai but not that kind!
We ate at Indo Thai last night. Our meal was very good. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Our server was nice and made menu suggestions that were helpful. The kitchen made an error in a sushi plate for another guest. Our server offered it to us. Free sushi!! My daughter had never tried sushi so she was very pleased. It was a nice night out.
Have given Indo a couple of tries- both were disappointing. Food is ok, nothing special, and small portions.
