If you are a true pizza lover and want the best pizza in our area of South Carolina then you must try KINGS PIZZA in Ladson SC... This is what I would call authentic NEW YORK style pizza!!!! It doesn't get any better than this!! The cheesecake we had to top off the meal is a mixture of Ricotta & Cream Cheese and will satisfy even the Ricotta purist. The service is also quick and all our table needs were anticipated and met. I highly recommend KINGS PIZZA for a night out for pizza and beer!!

My husband and I live across the street from this new Pizza place and decided to try it out. You know, it's real hard to find a good pizza place that's not one of those chain places, so we figured why not. All I can say is that eating their food has ruined any chances those other places might have had. Not only is the pizza good, it is fresh! They have other stuff too...calzones, strombolis, garlic knots (i ate a half dozen myself in one sitting...so good!), not to mention you can just stop in for a slice if you want a good snack. The prices are pretty good too! And as an added bonus, if you live close (across the street or around the corner) they will likely deliver to you! I won't eat any other pizza in the area as long as this place is open :)

New York, Italian pizza in Summerville, South Carolina. The accents of the owners/chefs is the real deal. Have never ordered anything but pizza, but why would we?! The pepperoni is classic, huge, perfectly greasy and delicious. Our kids are fans of the bbq chicken pizza which these guys do well. The prices are on par with other pizza joints in the Summerville area. It's worth a little more to get a slice or two at Kings.

Very good but don't expect your pizza to be ready in 20 minutes on a Saturday at lunch time. Even if you spend $100.

Don't let the appearance of this strip mall Pizza place turn you away...this is the best pizza in Summerville / Ladson by far. My wife and I are pizza fanatics and this one is top

Bad wings good pizza. Ordered "hot" wings - they arrived as plain fried chicken with no sauce on them at all - dry - there was however a thin layer of hot sauce in the bottom of the container only on one side of the four wings on the bottom. They were large as promised vs the niblets you get at BWE or Hoots. However, the pizza was very good and delivered as promised. Would do the pizza again but not the wings.

I would really like to give this little place more stars, but after two visits, I can say that I am not the least bit impressed. On my first visit it was lunchtime and I had the "Greek Salad" which was the worst salad I think I have ever tried to eat. It was TERRIBLE! Who, in their right mind, puts boiled egg in a Greek salad? And for the record, Greek Salad come with GREEK SALAD DRESSING (not a choice of one of their lousy pre-made dressings)! On my second visit I ordered a pizza to go. It was better than the salad, but that's not saying much. As far as pizza goes, for Ladson it was as good as you are gonna get, which I have already mentioned is not saying much. It was just your average Charlestonian version of New York Style Pizza-nothing to right your mom in the Bronx about though! I wish I could recommend this place, but as a professional chef myself, I cannot in good faith say I'd come here again, or send anyone I knew here for a meal. It is not terrible, but it's not great either. Sorry...

Meh. There are several better pizza joints in Summerville. It wasn't terrible but I'm surprised by the great reviews. Underwhelming pizza.

Every time I have been here I have loved it. Great, authentic Italian cuisine with lots of delicious cheese. Not the best if your watching your weight, but if your focusing on your tastebuds its a winner! Try the stuffed shells or mushroom chicken ravioli with vodka sauce!

This is a must go to for authentic Italian. Decor is very casual. Calzones and calamari are my favorites.

By far the BEST Pizza in the Summerville/Ladson area!!! These guys are from N. Jersey and they know how to make pizza, along with all the other things you would expect form an Italian Rest. I even had a Rice Ball in there once! Very nice, friendly place. Always busy, especially on the weekend nights. (Get there early)

The place is unassuming but the food is fantastic and the service very accommodating! Servings are very generous from the calzones, ravioli, chicken wings, and pizza. The spinach ravioli with Alfredo sauce was rich, creamy, and satisfying, with additional spinach in the sauce. Chicken wings are HUGE! And the mild sauce has a slight kick. Try the La Rosa Italian beer. It is a smooth darker beer with a very elegant finish to it. Theresa, our waitress was incredibly accommodating, and the owner/chef came out to talk with us to make sure everything was okay. Thanks you so much! We will be back!

This review is long overdue as we've been frequenting King's Pizza for quite some time now. This place has become a family favorite for us. We've never had a bad meal here. The owners and staff have always been friendly and generous to us, and have always been very welcoming with our children, even sometimes giving them little toys or flavored ice. The atmosphere is homey, and is seat-yourself style. I absolutely love the calzones, and the pasta always pleases. The pizzas have never disappointed, either. My wife often gets the eggplant parmesan, but I like to mix it up with calzones, pizza, wings, spaghetti, veal parm, and chicken parm. The kids usually have a medium cheese pizza. I confess I've never tried the subs or salads. There are a few minor things I would like to see, though: real glass plates and steak-style serrated knives. It's difficult to cut pizza up for a toddler with a butterknife on a lightweight plastic plate that moves around whilst trying to cut. Also, consistently having drinks to-hand that are more kid-pleasing, like fruit punch, juice, or even some milk. Oh, and pint glasses for the beer. :) My suggestions are minor, though, and won't keep us away. As the kids say when we tell them where we're going, "Yay! We're going to King's Pizza!"

One of my rare 5stars. Be advised I have only sampled the pizza here, so this is a pizza only rating. Other entrées looked good though. Staff are super friendly and make you feel like family. The atmosphere is in simple Bistro taste. Nothing fancy, but lots of seating. Best pizza I've found in the area.

I tried to put in a delivery order for a medium pizza. I am in their delivery area. They said they would only deliver 'that far' for larger orders. No thanks! Charge a delivery fee or publicize an order minimum for delivery if you're going to first tell people yes we can delivery to you, but oh wait your order is too small.

If you love great food then King's pizza should be on your list. My favorite appetizer is the mussels in white sauce. Packed with tons of garlic served on thick toast...simply incredible. We have tried the pizza, calzones, and a few of the pasta dishes. I haven't tried anything that i wasn't impressed with. The owner always comes out for a quick chat and on one occasion brought out some pistachio ice cream for the kids. Its not the fanciest place but the food and people have made it one of my favorites.

Our new favorite pizza place. Their sauce is fantastic, and the pizza in general was great. We actually came to this place by accident thinking it was somewhere else. What a pleasant surprise.

Just moved back down here after 3 years living in NYC. Did I think I would miss good NYC style pizza? Yes, absolutely. Did I think I would find a decent replacement so quickly and so close to my house? Not at all, but I'm glad I did. This is about as close to NYC pizza as you are going to find this far south. And it's pretty close...and definitely delicious. They don't deliver, but call ahead and drive on over, it's worth it. My only complaint is the price, the pizza is a bit expensive, but hey, that just adds to the NYC authenticity.

I was doing the Color Me Rad run and looked up Yelp reviews to find a new place to try near the area of the run. I was SO excited to check out King's Pizza! For the longest time I would say "I don't like pizza"... well I realized it's not that I don't like pizza... I just don't care for pizza chains. But REAL pizza can be amazingly delicious so I like pizza.. just not crappy pizza (and price is not a factor... I love me some Totino's!!). I hate to write this review since so many others raved about the food, but I was simply not impressed. I'll give it another chance one day and follow up if I have a different experience. I will say that the people who work here are SUPER friendly. We did have some service issues (no one took our order for quite a while after we got our drinks, part of our party asked for their check asap as they had to go and it didn't happen, a salad was served without the dressing) but it wasn't bad enough IF the food had been spectacular. We had a group of 7 people so there was an assortment of items ordered. The two pizzas that were tried were the Hawaiian Pie and the Carnivore. The verdict on the pizza - just okay. The sauce wasn't great, the dough didn't hold the ingredients well, and a sign for me of good pizza is a tasty crust. It wasn't a tasty crust. It honestly reminded me of pizza I could have ordered from one of those delivery chains. My daughter ordered the Linguine Alfredo with Chicken. This entree came with a salad and bread. She didn't care for the salad and gave it to me. It was tasty! I liked the bread that came with her pasta too. In fact, the bread was the highlight for me... the garlic knots weren't bad, just nothing to write home about. The pasta was okay. Two in our party ordered the salads, which were huge and the ingredients seemed fresh. The salads looked good but neither person felt it was better than average. We also ordered the Caprese salad which again, was just okay. You definitely get a good amount of food for the price. With that being said, I just wish the food was better. Maybe it's a consistency issue? Since there are so many others who REALLY enjoyed it, I'll likely give it another shot, but for now this is one forgettable pizza experience.

A weekly staple in our household. No matter if its the calamari, panzeratti, pizza etc. We have never had a bad meal here. The staff is always extremely friendly and willing to make your dining experience the best they can. Especially the owner. Wouldnt think of going anywhere else.

Their pizza is one of the best I've ever had, A+ However, their subs were just average, not bad though. Will defiantly go back again, and again. Revision: After trying their subs again, they are much better. They must have been having a bad day. This is one of the best pizza's I've ever had.

Seriously. Best. Pizza. Ever. Try the eggplant parmesan pizza and it will change your life. It looks like a hole in the wall, but definitely worth a visit!!!!

First of all, the pizza itself is miraculous -- some of the best in the Lowcountry, along with Alessandro's in Summerville, and Pizzeria di Giovanni in downtown Charleston. Secondly, and most importantly, this place is so much more than a pizza shop. The salads are wonderful. The cannoli are heaven-sent. My wife's eggplant parmesan was perhaps the best I've ever had -- and I'm not an eggplant guy ... well, other than being shaped like one. The service is great, too. Even on our last trip, when we had quite obviously a rookie server (Jamal), that rookie server did what all rookie servers should do: overcompensate with exceptional service. All in all, I recommend it to everyone.

I have visited this restaurant several times and each time the food has been delicious the service friendly and attentive and just an all around great experience!..today I had the tossed salad and a slice of pizza peperoni and cheese..the salad is insanely delicious so fresh with all the usual lettuce tomatoes and onions..plus they add roasted bell peppers which makes it over the top delicious!!.. also the slice of pizza is over sized and so fresh as well..felt like I ate a whole pizza with one slice..which is all I needed..I ended up getting a box to bring home the rest of the salad and the bread they give you as well..I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants delicious fresh Italian food at a great price!..love it!!!!... :)

This place is the best!! I am constantly ordering from here and am NEVER disappointed! People might not like the prices when they first see them but believe me when I say it is worth every penny, also the portion sizes are huge. I recently tried the Hawaiian stromboli which was delicious and also huge, bigger than the size of my hands huge! Their greek salad is delicious and is big enough for multiple meals. The people are always friendly and they deliver which is super convenient. This is one of my favorite places to eat hands down!

The food really was terrible. I had pasta and it was obvious the sauce came straight out of a can. The food was so bad we left King's and went for sushi. It wasn't edible.

I've had the pizza, soup, salad, Cal zone, and pasta & its all been awesome. Family owned & the service is impeccable. They go above and beyond for you and the portion sizes are huge. The owner always throws a little something extra in my order.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
