You have never had chicken if you have never had Yogi Bears honey fried! Along with the love for my hometown fave D&S subs this is also the Best. I have known people to travel just to get here. It's the only one in the world. ANd when you taste a piece of this crispy goodness you'll see why. There features are the Cindy box and the boo boo box. They also fry gizzards. This is one of those places where the guy from Diners & Drive ins in the food network show needs to come. They serve fries and a roll with the meal. No fries are as good as Mickey D's...except for these! They are awesome....I can't wait to go back just for this! I will bring me a box back to the A!

I loved this place when I worked at Sonoco back in 86-88. It's not a five-star restaurant, but it's MUCH better than any other chain. I've drive out of my way several times since then so my family can experience a Boo Boo Basket!

Drove by one day headed back to Florida and the sign first of all draws you in. How could you go wrong with a neon Yogi Bear? It's a little divey I'll admit. But, aren't some of the next food you ever had like that. We are talking about a place in the heart of the South. It screams it with its side items. This isn't your East Coast fried chicken place. The chicken is just an experience that you will not forget. It's so juicy and moist. It's that fried chicken you think Idela was making in the movie. The chicken has that flavour you won't soon forget or find anywhere else.

I don't get out to drive-in's too often, but then again most drive-in's I know don't have a freakin' giant Yogi Bear sign and theme (+ 2 stars); the option of frying you up liver and gizzards, much less the keel of the chicken (+ 1 star); or serve reasonably tasty food that recreates exactly (e.g. faux mashed potatoes) what my generation survived on throughout the 1970's (+ 2 stars). Minus one star for my sticky table and another star because it's not the 1970's.

My wife grew up in his small town and always talked about how good the chicken was. Last week we went down for a visit and stopped in. Wow! The chicken is out of this world. They even have a cut of he chicken I've never seen before called the heel,All white meat. The sides are not that special , the AC was not having much effect either in the seating area. There was a foul smell ( no pun intended) coming from the restrooms as well, if you say too close. All that being said , the place is worth the stop if you like chicken. Make sure you ask for honey too! And the prices , they are way below normal. The boxes that the food is served are a piece of art, who can resist it!!! This is a must eat if you are a foodie

Yummy chicken. Nuff said. Try it. You won't want anything else. I know that there are other options in town. The two don't even compare. Fast service and fresh chicken.

I suppose I'm a bit biased because I'm from Hartsville and there's a big nostalgia factor involved in my perception of Yogi Bear's food but I really will miss this place if it ever closed down. I've eaten ALOT of fried chicken all over the southeast and I keep coming back to this place. When I was a growing up in our small town Yogi Bear was a staple for mine and many other families. We have KFC and Bojangles but they may as well not exist. The food used to be higher quality before new ownership. The sides especially have suffered a flavor downgrade which is a bummer. However, I don't go to this place for the sides, nor the ambiance. I go for the juicy crispy fried chicken which they have been serving up for years. It's still great, it's crispy and juicy, and has a great flavor. It's southern fried chicken, therefore it's not too salty. You just like bland food if you complain the about the sodium level. The mashed potatoes are also great! Mac and cheese is meh and cole slaw is hit or miss. I also highly suggest the fried gizzards and livers. There's a reason there's a line out the door on a Sunday afternoon after church. So put away your health consciousness and try it sometime, you won't be disappointed if you order the right thing. It's seriously the last one of its kind and a Hartsville institution!

I think this place can be summed up in one word: ehhhhhhh. We got a dark meat box with fries (undercooked) and cole slaw (anemic, brown, and funky in the worst way). The thighs were cold, and the leg was pretty hot. It tasted ok, but was chewy and just generally unimpressive. My husband got an order of fried chicken livers, also. The order was huge, but they were totally overcooked and kind of bitter. Basically, I wouldn't say it was gross, but it definitely wasn't good, and I won't be back.

This is very good fast food fried chicken, juicy and flavorful, but not the best fried chicken ever. Not really even the best fast food fried chicken. Perhaps if the batter wasn't quite so salty...? A tip for first-time customers: the menu board on the wall can be rather overwhelming, and the staff wasn't particularly helpful. Grab one of the paper menus and choose your options before stepping to the counter. The onion rings were well prepared, very thinly sliced with a light batter. They had good seasoning but, again, very heavy on the salt.

Pretty yummy chicken! Only down side is sometimes the chicken pieces are small... Like in a 9 pc. Picnic Basket the breast will be the size of thighs. The tenders are HUGE and the sides are pretty good! Sweet tea is amazing. Overall I'm satisfied and will continue to eat here YUM!

This is the ONLY YOGI BEAR in existence! The chicken is really great, really juicy, probably will give you a heart attack, southern, fried chicken.
