It's a big, bright, and open space as you walk in. There's ample covered seating outside. I went for lunch and was impressed by the sandwich and salad selection. Ended up going with the chopped salad. It was good but nothing to write home about. It was served with a couple of pita points which was a nice touch. Next time I will get the dressing on the side because it was a little much mixed in. They serve wine and pepsi products. The deli case had a bunch of cold salad options and in the far corner they had macarons!

I wasn't expecting this from a deli, but I had one of the best fish tacos from here! The creamy sauce with corn and peppers was delicious, and the mild fish was cooked perfectly. The quesadilla was large and loaded with cheese but not the most tasty I've ever had, but was still pretty good. Will definitely put this place on regular rotation now as we live close by.

Nice environment that can be a bit noisy so if you're looking for peace and quiet, this isn't the place. I've eaten here two time now and will continue to do so. The first time I had the pastrami sandwich and it was great and this time I had the ham and cheese quiche. The quiche was well prepared however it could've used more cheese, it wasn't all that warm either. I had the french fries both times, first time they were warm and this time not so much. It was actually busier the first time I went so maybe that's why the food overall was warmer. The fries are some of my favorite anywhere as long as they are good and warm. I recommend you give it a try. The wife goes more often than I and loves it.

Walked in and saw the reason for it being packed: bright, clean, positive, and good food on display. Met the owner and had a good conversation about his place. Very personal and willing to serve all that came in. A good addition to Greenville. Thanks Rick! I had a BLT with fruit and all was a good lite lunch for me. Good prices for the good meal. It is obvious that this is a regular for the downtown crowd. Well done.

I've only eaten lunch here. Given how expensive everything is, I think there are better options downtown. Recently I got a take-out order where one side of the panini sandwich was burned to black and they forgot to include my side item. I didn't realize any of this until I got back to work and it was too late. More disappointing than that, I emailed to let them know this happened and was never contacted in response to my complaint. It'll be a while, but if I try them again, I will check any take-out order thoroughly before I leave.

Good variety and a great find for lunch! I got the Carolina Black and Blue - soooo good! Their fries were crispy and good. Definitely will be returning. Yum!

I tried the chicken quesadilla tonight and was very disappointed. The chicken was dry a flavorless. But seeing my disappointment the manager not only refunded me the meal but served me a tasty French dip. The roast beef was a good quality of meat and the bread was soft and fresh. The service is superb at this deli.

Awesome for lunch. Very good sammiches and fresh cut French fries. Highly recommend for lunch. Haven't had dinner there yet

Exceptional food, relatively prompt service, great selection and ooh, the bakery. I've never been disappointed at Rick's, having had lunch there half a dozen times or more. The food is simple and satisfying, the staff is knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is light and welcoming. Don't skip the bread or pastries, which are outstanding. My only complaint was the lack of a baby changing station, necessary for lunch with the family. But I happened to see Rick Erwin there one day and suggested he add one - and I understand he has!

While visiting my sister, we grabbed lunch here. It is very bright, clean, and organized. The staff are UBER FRIENDLY (like so friendly I was scared!) You order and pay at the counter, then they give you a number and bring your food to your table. The have a pretty expansive menu of cafe style entrees, served with your choice of side. They also have a large area with many delicious looking wines. In the deli part they have lots of nice cheeses, desserts, and meats. I would definitely stop in here if I was going to have a wine and cheese party! They have everything you would need! Now, why three stars? I'm sorry, I don't know if I hit it on a bad day or what, but I was very disappointed with the food. I love chicken salad, so I got the chicken salad sandwich. It was missing something- needed more mayo, a little salt and pepper, and a sliced red onion. I also found a bone in mine, yuck! My sister ordered the french fries with her lunch and they were DELISH! Wish I would have gotten that, but I had unfortunately ordered the cole slaw. It was awful. The cabbage was in huge chunks, like not sliced at all and very low/poor flavor. My sister ordered the pimento cheese BLT and I tried her sandwich and wished I had gotten that too! I think this place probably normally has really great food, I think I just ordered the wrong thing on the wrong day.

Good food. Slow service. They don't allow dogs on the patio or except check. Very pricy for what it is.

Mediocre at best. I've tried three of the sandwiches; chicken salad, cuban, and Italian grinder. All were lack luster and not reflective of the premium price. While the ingredients were slightly above average, the bread is quite generic and substandard for any deli. There are other options downtown. However, if location trumps flavor and price then this is the place for you.

Outstanding Ruebens, helpful and courteous staff, casual evening meals are casual and enjoyable. Wonderful desserts. One recommendation is to upgrade their salads by eliminating the use of shredded iceberg lettuce. It just does not fit with the quality of their other offerings.

Love love love this place! The decor is simplistic with lots of tables and big display cases full of desserts, pastas and salads. Great wine and cheese selection. And the menu is awesome! All the salads and desserts are made in house. The sandwiches are huge with several choices for a side. There are also hot meals and several salads with my favorite being the chopped salad. Such a wonderful combination of flavors! And you must save room for dessert...the maroons are amazing and the chocolate mousse is the best I've ever eaten! The staff is so friendly and I just adore the little French lady who is either the manager or the owner. She is so chic and stylish and makes sure that all her customers are completely satisfied.

I don't even know where to begin. I've been several times, and though I've felt from day 1 that their menu and food was a bit overpriced for what you're getting, I continued to support them because I thought it was just the type of place that the west side of downtown needed. About a month ago, however, I called far in advance to ask about a custom order of Macarons for a baby shower I was hosting. It was a "sprinkle themed" shower, so I asked if it would be possible to fill the macarons with extra pastry cream and then roll the edges in the pastel sprinkles so that they would match the rest of the desserts I was making. I was told by everyone at Rick's Deli that this would be no problem, even the GM, and knowing that I was kind of being a extra-picky customer, I apologized several times for being so difficult. I just wanted everything to be perfect. When I arrived to drop off the sprinkles, the chef just happened to be up front and before I could say a word, I was suddenly being yelled at (not talked to.....yelled at) by an extraordinarily rude Frenchman. I consider myself to be a polite person, but I'm not meek by any means. I will stand up for myself when necessary. But I have to say, this was the first time in my life that I was truly rendered SPEECHLESS. I could see that there was some miscommunication and he didn't quite understand what I was asking for, so being a fairly seasoned baker/cook myself, I attempted to try to explain better what I wanted done. It was a very simple request, that I could have done myself, I just didn't have the time. He wouldn't even let me complete a sentence. Not only did he cut me off and shout that "IT CAN'T BE DONE. IT WON'T BE DONE" he actually SCOFFED AT ME......laughed in my face.....when I tried to politely explain again. I do want to be clear that the cashiers and ladies up front who helped me with my order could not have been nicer. They were lovely to work with. This has nothing to do with them at all. Rick's Deli is overpriced and clearly catering to a certain customer. I was obviously not viewed as their "target customer" that day and was not at all made to feel welcome by their chef. It's a shame, too, because I was raised going to restaurants much finer than any of Rick Erwin's establishments and am more than happy to pay a premium price for a high-quality dining experience. But that experience will no longer be Rick Erwin's.

Great to have a market like this! Salads, dessert and coffee are wonderful! Only been here for lunch, but well worth it every time! Location is perfect and ambience is wonderful! Will keep coming back!

Blue cheese roast beef Cuban is a great sandwich. So much to choose from it will be hard for you to decide.

Horrible experience. Rude customer service and really poor quality french macarons. I am a bit of a french macaron snob...so, I made sure to call ahead and reserve some of their "fresh-baked today" batch. They were horrible! Dry, flaky, lacked flavor, and over priced. They tasted more like pre-packaged or mail ordered french macarons. I would recommend Lagrande on Augusta.

Went to Rick's Deli last week. My wife had fish and chips and I had baked/rotissere chicken. My wife did not like the fish or the fries. She said that the fries tasted left over/refried possibly for warming. My chicken was very tender but had virtually no seasoning which make it almost tasteless. The Greek baked potatoes were pretty good. The thing that was very good was the key lime tart. It was excellent and thus upped the over 2 stars. The decor was very tasteful and the staff was very nice. I would return but would make a different selection for my main meal. One meal and a bad choice is not a reason to give it another try.

Beautiful market. Nice lunch. Been there a couple of times. The Cuban Crisis (a cuban sandwich) was great. The coleslaw is also quite tasty. The cucumber salad needs kicked up a notch. It was a bit bland to my taste. I had the Rueben most recently. Tasty sandwich with great pastrami piled high. It was a bit soupy which knocks off a star. I'd recommend the place. I really do like the bustle and the ambiance. The service is good. I'll go back and see how it develops.

Love the black and blue sandwich. Very friendly staff, and excellent deli meat. Very good french fries as well.
