A Home Run! it's unusual that a restaurant excels in all 3 major courses, but I was pleasantly surprised on this restaurant recommended by the hotel. Being solo, I ate at the bar where the bartenders were friendly and engaging. The first course strawberry salad was fresh and tasty. The main course halibut special was worthy of slowly savoring every bite. Dinner was topped off with a delicious dessert of raspberry bread pudding with a scoop of ice cream. The restaurant is upscale and gives a first impression of being pretentious. Many in dressy attire, though not required. The service was down to earth, intelligent, and friendly. The bar is rather dark making it a challenge to see the menu or even the food. Whatever it was they put in front of me was outstanding!

This place rocks. Excellent service, wonderful food and a slightly overpriced wine list. That being said, the sommelier offered a suggestion on a terrific cab (Emblem by Michael Mondavi) which was a terrific value, best value on the list in my opinion. The bone in filet, while a special was perfectly cooked (is it bad to gnaw on the bone after using a knife and fork?). Double cut pork chopped - perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend West End Grille for a special occasion or an expense account meal. I will be back (maybe tonight!).

Have been here many times and it is always good. Tonight I tried the carpaccio and foi gras for the first time. Wow. Both were good. would highly recommend the foi gras. I had the petit filet medium rare and it was great. Next time I would state no cracked black pepper. Rick Erwin himself stopped by our table. The wine guy came by the table and recommended a white that went very well with our meal. The dessert of the Reese's peanut butter chocolate dessert was amazing. Worth every calorie. I couldn't drop eating tit

Food is a bout a 4, but the service and hospitality of the staff was outstanding. Really worth a try in the congested downtown Greenville food choices.

Our go to place when in Greenville visiting from Dallas. A friend introduced us to the restaurant and the staff and we are always extremely happy with food, service and management.

The Filet Mignon was superb! The crab cake was "slap yo momma" delicious! The seafood bisque was smooth, creamy, and oh so yummy! The ambiance was nice but a little too dark to comfortably read the menu. The mash potatoes were excellent! The asparagus cooked to perfection! And the mushrooms...I don't like mushrooms but theirs was scrumptious! I had strawberry short cake for desert...good...but nothing to write home about!

Rick Erwin's, like several of the fancy schmancy Greenville hot spots, is decent but a little forgettable. The service was great as far as hostess and initial seating, but our server was a a little overwhelmed and therefore could not provide adequate time addressing the table's needs. The resturant itself was ROASTING hot and that probably impacted my experience too because I was sweating bullets. We had steaks and sides...all good but nothing really spectacular. I was expecting the creme de la creme but was disappointed. Also was a little underwhelmed by our server's lack of wine knowledge. For out of town guests, this place presents well and will probably make a good impression. But if you are a local and looking for a special meal out there are other places you can go that have a more unique experience asthetically and menu wise.

Iama Critic Rating - Rick Erwins - 2 stars 648 South Main Street, Greenville, SC Overall: Rick Erwins was a sad disappointment for Chef Iama Critic and his fellow guest critic. Rick Erwins says they are "Greenville's finest dinning experience", their review ratings hover around 4.5 stars. And Open Tables rates them in the "Top 50 in the Nation" But what really matters is what they serve you when you eat there! So how did Rick Erwins do for us on a Monday night? Simply put, THEY WERE TERRIBLE. Their website photos look nothing life the photo's we took of the food we received! The service was awful and slow, and we left feeling like we were ripped off! I don't know, maybe it was because we did not have our suits on like everyone else in the restaurant. But when you pay hard earned money, over $110.00 (not including tip) for two people to go to a fine dinning restaurant, you deserve the absolute best. But Rick Erwins only delivers a facade of quality. The table clothes hide cracked table pads. We counted at least four different unmatched place settings. Silverware didn't match, plates were round, square, different patterns, it was a hodgepodge mess. The dishes were spotted. They even mixed grilled and fried foods even though we ordered no fried foods. If we wanted fried food we would have gone to Bubba's Catfish Camp! Frankly by the time our two and a half hour dinning experience with Rick Erwins was over, we had no desire to return to another over-priced, highly over-rated, award winning restaurant that serves impossibly pretentious food pretending to be top quality! How can so many people be deceived by this impostor of a great restaurant? $15.00 - Blackened Scallops - 3 Stars After deducting one star for not receiving as many scallops as shown in Rick Erwins own advertising photos. Although this was the best item of the night. $15.00 - The Company Crab Cake Appetizer - 2 Stars The tiny crab cake itself was quite delicious, but you just can't get past the fact that you paid $15 for an appetizer that is the size of the lemon wedge it comes with. $30.00 - Prime Sirloin Bistro Steak - 2 Stars One of the worse entrees we have ever seen for over $10. Four tiny little pieces of under-cooked "steak" covered in what my guest critic thinks is French's Onion Strings. When we mentioned it to the waitress she said that "customers love our onion strings". Sure maybe on your grandma's green been casserole, but I can't imagine people loving paying $30 for what amounts to cold fried onion strips. No Michelin critic would agree, and neither will we! $39.00 - Blackened Swordfish - 3 Stars Rick Erwins started to redeem itself with this wonderfully prepared swordfish. The rice medley was superbly flavored. I wish they had served me a bowl of it on the side! The swordfish was surprisingly thick and the portion was meager but acceptable, and flawlessly cooked. But then Rick Erwins goes mental and puts disgusting FRIED ONION RINGS on this gorgeous slab of swordfish. Not even good rings like they serve at Cheddar's Casual Cafe. When we want fried food we will go down to our local seafood shack and get some for $10.00. There is no place for fried food at Rick Erwin's when you are paying $39.00! Rick Erwins Dollar Menu Combos: With the $30 & $39 entrees you get a selection of two first course items including a salad or seafood bisque, for the second course you get to choose from four meat items including the horrid steak, chicken, a tiny crab cake or the salmon, and for the third course you have a selection of three different desserts which include a brulee, key lime pie or a chocolate torte. I am not even going to mention the horrid Seafood Bisque and one of the worse Caesar salads we have ever had eaten. Because if I did people would start to think we were exaggerating our poor experience. Final Thoughts: If you check my reviews, you will notice that I and my guest critic friends have eaten all over the country, at restaurants from every level, from a $5 AYCE Mexican Buffet to the finest dining establishments. Now there is no doubt many people rate Rick Erwins highly, and to earn such ratings there is no doubt that Rick Erwins can produce quality food, when they feel like it. But on the Monday night when I took my guest critic friend to a, "special fancy place", to treat him to a wonderfully meal, what we received was not worthy of three stars much less a place on Open Tables list. Frankly if I had even the notion that Rick Erwins would treat us so badly, I would have taken my honorable guest to Chophouse 47 instead, I hear Chophouse will serve customer well, even when they are not wearing their suits.

Amazing place! The service is great and the food is incredible. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant and Mr. Erwin is always there to thank you for your business.

The Delmonico steak was good. Prepared properly. Very good flavor. Wonderful medley of vegetables were served with the entree. The plated bread and olive oil was delicious. Vanilla creme Berle was fantastic.

I love this place..! Elegant and classy. Steaks are amazing and appetizers could be a gourmet meal themselves. Perfect for a classy date night. I do believe the service is some of the best in town, however I recommend you give yourself all night to be here. Takes a while to get orders and seated.

Excellent food, I got the lamb which was on the small end and had a lot of fat which made it smaller. The whipped sweet potatoes are awesome and the salad was great. Would def only go out for a special occasion not just for casual dining.

We went to Rick Erwin's for the first time and it did not disappoint. Elliott was our waiter and he was funny, attentive (just enough that still allowed for privacy) and offered great service. We had the sweet potato soup and it was rich/but not overpowering, caesar salad (somewhat bland) and 2 filets done perfectly. My husband couldn't resist the cheesecake...wow just awesome. Elliott noticed I didn't eat the caesar and inquired as to why....after hearing that i was a bit disappointed he promptly removed it from the bill. Gestures like this will have me returning...because it's the right thing to do in a fine restaurant like this where the food should be what you are paying for. Mr. Erwin made his way to our table and everyone else's also. Just a great dining evening. Happy Birthday Elliott!!!

We came here for restaurant week. The atmosphere was very nice, upscale and very classy. I found by far my favorite martini, the pomegranate martini. Tasted like candy and had red grapes as a garnish. Very little alcohol but wow! Yum. We started with the seafood bisque. My husband loved it but I thought it was salty and had a weird broth taste, almost like a chicken soup? I like lobster bisque, this wasn't my favorite but had lots of seafood pieces in it. The fresh bread was incredible! It came with a balsamic and olive oil dipping plate which was incredible. I had for dinner the steak frites which was chewy, but not awful. The fries were crispy and had this odd sweet honey like drizzle, very good! My husband had the surf and Turf, which was a filet and crab cake. The filet was ok but the crab cake was awesome. Little to no breading, yum! For dessert we both had the vanilla creme brûlée. It was really good and came with fresh fruit. Overall I'd come back but not something worth selling my soul for.

Another fantastic night at Rick Irwin's. I prefer to eat at the bar but the dinning room is just as nice. Service is terrific from the moment you pull up to the valet, walk through the door and into the bar. Everyone...and I mean everyone you come in contact with says hello with a smile on your face. If Rick is in the house he will make you feel like you are old friends and been coming for years. I love the shrimp cocktail, warm goat cheese salad and sliced 7 oz filet off the bar menu as my go to dinner of choice. I have never had a bad meal at RIs!

  • Michelle B.

Great dessert but the entrées were disappointing. My swordfish was over cooked and dry and my husbands oysters were also over cooked. The complementary bread is to die for. I could have eaten it all night!! But for $200 you really want the main course to be good and not just the bread and desserts.

This restaurant was truly AMAZING, the steaks were FANTASTIC, the wine was SUPERB and the establishment was ELECTRIC.... GREAT bar crowd and service too... A Greenville GEM and must stop for anyone out for a perfect evening....

Let me begin with I used to absolutely adore this restaurant when it first opened. I had the best prime New York to date. It was served "a la carte," and i ordered the creamed spinach on the side to compliment the steak and add some richness to my plate. I paired it with a glass of Makers Mark, on the rocks and life seemed pretty wonderful. However, over the course of multiple experiences, I feel that the quality of service, front and back of the house, has diminished with the luster of a new shiny restaurant. The cuts of meat of gone from pristine to lack luster. I'm not sure if they have changed suppliers but I've had more tender sirloin than the current trimmed prime NY Strip. I hope they get their act together over there because I absolutely adored the place and quickly recommended it to tons of people. The qualities that set this place apart to me have been lost to date, yet my confidence in the staffs ability to turn it around remains high. I will eat there again because I am always looking for redemption for the establishment, but it seems to be trending in the wrong direction. Definitely try the Rick Erwins Signature Crab Cake...

I have eaten at Rick Erwin's West End Grill multiple times this year in parties of sizes varying from 2 up to 10. I'll be reviewing in terms of those multiple visits rather than singling out an individual experience. Overall, I'd say this restaurant is typical of its breed. I expect certain things when I dine in this price range, and this place has them, but in my opinion it doesn't innovate and the food is acceptable but unexceptional. It's fine if you just want a generic high-end dining experience, but if you really want exceptional food, look elsewhere. The service has consistently been the highlight of dining here. It's been excellent each time, with an attentive "main" waiter and solid support staff. They keep the silverware coming, scrape the table with those crumb scraper things, fold your napkins when you leave your seat, etc. Normal for this caliber of restaurant. The atmosphere in the dining room is very disappointing. The furniture is mediocre, the seats close together, half the seating is that weird booth/table hybrid stuff. The ceiling is unfinished, maybe going for a modern industrial look, but instead it just looks bad. The lighting was uninteresting and generally too high. I feel it falls well short of what it should for this price range. The food (of which I've tried most of the non-steaks and many of the steaks) is consistent but again, uninteresting and uninspired. Appetizers are fine, and there's some nice variety there, but sometimes the garnishes detract from the main attraction or overwhelm it. In my opinion at this level of dining you should be eager to eat each thing on the plate, and the dish should function as a unified whole--not some weird salad with scallops dropped on top. The steaks are well-prepared and tender, but somehow missing in the flavor department. I've had the NY Strip, filet, rib eye, tomahawk rib eye, and Delmonico. Of them, the strip was definitely the best. The tomahawk rib eye was weirdly tough and very disappointing. I also went for the large seafood tower once, and I must say I found it disappointing. For $110, I felt like I saw a lot of mussels and clams, with a few highlights like shrimp and lobster. Snow crab legs are nice at Golden Corral, but I expect a place like this to either serve an exceptional example of them or leave them out.

The restaurant has good interiors and the wait staff is courteous. We had the Seafood Bisque, Lemon Chicken and Cheese cake. Liked them. Although it's accepted that this is a fining dining restaurant, but the rates are on the higher side. My opinion: Can try once, for the food not for the price though.

This is a great place to get a steak in Greenville. I have been here a number of times for business dinners, date night and family dinners and it has been a great experience every time. The service is consistently excellent even when the place is packed. We recently had a family dinner there where we took our kids there for the first time. They have 4oz steak sizes that are just right for young kids or they can split an entree for you. I usually get a steak when I go but their seafood is also worth trying. The filet is always good or you can try the dry aged Delmonico for something a little different. The portion size for the sides serves about 4 people so it can be a little too much if there are just two of you. If you are not sure what to order, they usually have $30 or $40 three course meal options that are pretty easy to decide on.

Very nice, we were caught in traffic and about 45 minutes late. We called twice to alert them. We were concerned because when making our reservation we were told they only had 5:15 and 8:3o.We wanted 6:15. After being unsuccessful on the phone we booked 6:15 via open table. Maybe they leave some open tables for walk ins. Our service was excellent. The food, especially the bread was outstanding. The bernaise disappointing, cold and pasty lacking in flavo, and wedge also not up to standards, 2 easy things for a steakhouse but off the mark. Otherwise fabulous. We ordered far too much food

I've been to Greenville on business several times over the past year, and for some reason I've eaten here every single visit. The bar snacks are fab, but be sure to save room for a salad, steak and mac&cheese. Everything I've had here is beyond delicious, and the service is top notch. I'll be back soon!

This place should get at least a 4 and usually does, but this 3 is for a couple of things. We got a couple of the $30-3 course meals. The sirloin steak was cooked correctly and tasted great, but chewy/tough for a place of this caliber. The salmon was good (blackened) and cooked properly as it should be, but served in a marinara sauce- Just not that great together. The fries were good with the steak..just hard to eat (skinny like skinnier that shoestring style), spinach very good. We we had two delicious desserts. The key lime pie and creme brûlée were truly wonderful. Service was good. Always had a full glass of water! Very fast also- in and out in an hour. Rick Erwin's is a very good place- just not our best Rick experience this meal.

Our experience dining at the West End Grille rates a 5 star +! The décor and atmosphere were 5+. The waiter, Andy, was knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. The steaks and seafood were the best we have ever had in Greenville. The bread, salad, desserts were also top notch. Rick Erwins West End Grille offers very good value for an excellent dining experience. We will definitely continue to enjoy this restaurant.

A solid four star experience from start to finish. Funny enough the decor is the only "run of the mill" steakhouse feature of the restaurant. Several excellent dishes to suit all manner of steak, seafood and veggie lovers await you on this menu. The service is prompt, respectful of your time and most helpful when making choices of wine pairing or dinner balance between courses. We sampled many dishes from the cabbage and bacon soup to the crab cakes. All were freshly prepared and very well seasoned with a call out to the delicate orzo, well seared tuna and flavorful key lime pie. In fact, I believe this might be one of the best key lime pies in quite a while. The only disappointment is the basic decor and one appetizer (clams Rockefeller) which was simply smothered in creamed spinach and cheese. All other signs point to an excellent dining experience. Enjoy.

Our party started off with a crab cake appetizer. It was decent, but I'll try something different next time. The hot bread served with a side of olive oil, grated cheese and vinegar was phenomenal. I enjoyed an excellent seafood bisque as well. For dinner most of our party had what they considered the best petite fillet ever. The side items were plentiful--three sides for five people was way too much. We had delicious green beans, and tasty mushrooms although they were not needed as an accompaniment to the steak.

Excellent food! Currently they are featuring a set 3 course menu so if you've stayed away due to the price, now is the time to check it out! They feature at $28 or $36 three course meal. I left FULL!! I started out with the Ceasar Salad. Entree was the Carolina Surf and Turf - grilled 4 oz filet of beef and a pan seared crab cake, served with whipped potatoes and sautéed vegetables. Ended with Key Lime Pie. Not bad for $36!!

Was visiting Greenville to see Wicked at The Peace Center. Went to Rick Erwin's on a Yelp recommendation. The food was absolutely amazing. Both my girlfriend and I had Filet's. They were cooks perfectly and we shared the 4 cheese Mac & Cheese, which was also amazing, and the steamed broccoli. Everything was great, and the valet was quick. The only weakness was the server. Our server was not very talkative. She was foreign, so I am not sure if it was a language barrier or not, but she just didn't talk much at all. I very much recommend Rick Erwin's!

Last Night Susan & I were at Rick Erwins with Friends and ate in the bar. I believe that few people know that the bar has good food! In the bar the service and food was fantastic. The bar food is not as expensive as the restaurant so if you want to have a fun atmosphere, spend time with friends or just have good food; try it out! By the way, the wine is a little pricey so try a mixed drink for less money. Let me know when you will be there and we will meet you :-)

I live in California, and come to Greenville on business. To me, Rick Erwins Westen Grille is the best restaurant in Greenville - hands down! In fact, I'd say that it's up-to-par with some of my favorite places in the Bay Area. Impeccable service, excellent food (the presentation is fantastic, and the flavors are amazing), and really good wine list. There isn't one thing that I would change about this place. Everything is really-really good. I can't wait for the next time to come here for dinner!

  • Ann Marie D.

This place is SO GOOD. The steak is amazing and the family style sides are most certainly up to par. The cheesy mashed potatoes are phenomenal and I must admit I love their tiny shoestring fresh cut fries. Rick Erwins also has a great bar scene and is a fun place to see and be seen. They have been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence several times. The service is always great. Go here for a special occasion or go here just because the food is THAT good. George Clooney and Renee Zellweger dined here while in the area filming Leatherheads.

Overrated. Service was slow on a slow night. Server did make a good wine rec., though. Servers outfits are circa 1995. Comical. Decor is a bit dated. Ordered the filet and it was o.k. Just not a good cut of meat. Potatoes au gratin were all cream and no potato. Salad was actually too big. This place is big portions, high prices, and mediocre food and service. For a fine dining experience and a better steak try Devaraux's. Overall, I expected much better. This place wouldn't last a month in Charleston, Atlanta, Charlotte, etc.

I've got to stop going to popular restaurants on Valentine's Day. Had a pre-dinner drink at the Velo Fellow and should have just stayed there. In all fairness, we have been there for Valentines Day three times in the previous five years with AWESOME results, which is why we decided not to stray. Again, on any other night of the year, this is probably one of the top 3 places in Greenville and you should give them a try. But in this case: Holy God can you cram more tables together? A: No you couldn't. We were crammed between two other couples so close I could touch both tables at the same time EASILY without trying. Maybe I am being a giant baby about this, because as I scanned all the other idiots crammed together nobody else seemed to care. So maybe I'm the problem. But I don't want to hear others conversation and I don't want them hearing mine. The server had a hard time squeezing in between the tables they were so close. And about him, he disappeared for a good 30 minutes at one point. Very annoying. The food, however, was fantastic as always. I'm not always impressed by higher end restaurant food, but it really is worth the money. I guess it's a little like complaining about your Best Buy experience on Black Friday, so take this with a grain of salt. We will probably go back, just maybe for a birthday instead.

I was in Greenville for 1 night and found this place through Yelp - thank you!! I ate at the beautiful wide & roomy bar, excellent service. I had salad and the BEST crabcakes I've ever eaten, hands down, and washed it down with local Thomas Creek Red Ale, also a treat. I highly recommend this place.

We took the family to Rick Erwin's for dinner before seeing Les Mis at the Peace Center. The hostess was very prompt at seating us and the wait staff was efficient. The food was very good. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer. Thank goodness we decided to share it, as it was a huge portion. It was very delicious with nice flavor to the breading and had a goat cheese with pimento on top. Yummy!! We came here with the idea of having steaks, but were not hunger enough to order them! What a shame, we will have to return! I had Crab cakes ( the small portion) It was very good, lots of crabmeat and not much breading. My husband had the halibut special which he said was wonderful. My son and daughter-in-law had the meal special for $29. This is a good deal with salad, entree, and dessert. The hanger steak was tasty but a little tough (maybe that is the way it is). My daughter had tuna and said it was really good. The desserts were very good-we all had a taste. Also we got some side dishes- creamed spinach and Au gratin potatoes. These were excellent. Overall, this restaurant was a good find and very good location if you are going to the Peace Center. You can walk from the local parking to dinner and then to the theater. We will definitely go again, and hopefully try the steaks!

Good salads and steaks, phenomenal mashed potatoes, and great wine list. My wife and I split the 24 oz Porterhouse. We thought it was good and they split it onto two plates for us which was nice. I compare it to Ruth's Chris. I thought it was a little too pricey for what you got, but the service was excellent even on Valentines Day when we went. We thought the dining room was elegant, but they tried to cram way too many people into the booths. Very little privacy. My wife and I made up for that by sharing a bottle of wine and trying to forget the fact that the people next to us could hear our conversation if they wanted. That was annoying. If you havnt been, I recommend it, but there are other very good restaurants in downtown Gville now a days, so it may be a little while before we go back. In summary we were not blown away, and for the price of those steaks you expect to be.

Went here tonight for a special dinner with my husband and visiting sisters in law. The filet was by far the best steak I have ever eaten in my life. No exaggeration. Lemon chicken was excellent and the cheesecake was outrageously delicious. I would have given this place a full 5 stars and been satisfied with my rating but our waiter was inattentive and he was pretty rude. My sister in-law ordered her steak medium rare and it came out rare. This would have been fine had the waiter informed us that their medium rare had a cool red center beforehand. When she asked if they could cook it a little more he gave serious attitude and acted like it was her fault for not knowing that she would be eating raw meat. I would definitely recommend trying this place out, it is one of the best meals I've ever eaten.

When it comes to steak, I usually like to find a butcher that offers Prime meats and do it myself because it's almost always better. Not this time. We were in town for the night and the Hilton recommended this to us. Thank you very much. Seriously great Filet. Cooked perfectly, and the grilled asparagus was awesome too. The sweet potato wasn't in the jacket, it was pureed with toasted marshmallows on top...not what I expected but they ended up being very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful, wine list was awesome to drool over, and a nice selection of other drinks (for our digestive).

Great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere to celebrate a special occasion. From the first glass of champagne to the final taste of dessert, Rick Erwin's is always a special treat.

Superior food and service every time. They could work a little more on gluten free options but I mentioned to the managers and think they are starting to lean that way. They are very accommodating and well worth the money.

Don't sit in the bar area unless you prefer dive bar service with your $50 steak. Every time the server came to our table (mostly because we flagged her down on her way to another table) it was as if we were interrupting her. My parter's drink was dropped on the table with a brief glance in our direction and we had to ask for menus and for her to take my drink order.

Fabulous meal!! We went here for the first time on our 28th anniversary, and we were not disappointed. Our server, Amanda, was so professional, knowledgeable, and fun. She made us feel welcome and was always attentive without imposing on our enjoyment of the fabulous food. They served complimentary champagne and a starter for our anniversary (so unexpected and so nice of them). Two of us had the signature surf and turf, one had grouper and one had a filet. All were perfectly prepared and delicious. The surf and turf lobster tail is a true Maine lobster, and was succulent and tender. No rubber, overcooked seafood here! The filets were tender enough to cut with a fork and perfectly seasoned. The parmesan crusted grouper was also delicious and perfectly cooked. We highly recommend this restaurant if you want great food and service. Our thanks to everyone who made our evening special, especially Amanda!

We are all from out of town. My boyfriend and I from San Diego and my brother and friend from NYC. My brother and friend had the surf and turf, black and blue style. They loved it. My friend kept saying she wished she had gotten the 7oz steak. I had the Alaskan King Crab, which was delicious and just the right amount of food. My boyfriend had the lamb chop, and he still hasn't stopped talking about it. Our cocktails were also very good. We got the creme brulee for desert and it was also very good. I'm not sure how we had any room left for desert but somehow we managed to share it between the 4 of us. I would have the say that the only think that wasn't that great was the green fried tomato appetizer. My friend was really looking forward to it since we were the ones that introduced her to them. But these were just plain, nothing exciting. Other than that, the food was very good. The service was also great. Our server was very friendly. She explained the specials to us. Of course we forgot what she said by the time she left for us to look at the menus so we had to ask her again the different cooking styles for the steak. It was nice that they have valet service because on the day we went it was raining and the last thing we wanted to do was look for a parking space and walk in the rain. We will be back to eat at Rick Erwins for sure next time we're in town.

One of the best food spots in downtown Greenville. Nice and upscale ambience, excellent food. A good bar scene Thursday-Saturday.

Would give. 2.5 stars if I could. Meal was not bad, but was not great. Here's why: Price: 204.94 We sent 3 dishes back. More Fails than pass. Fail: Oysters Rockerfeller: Cheese and cream sauce was not up to par. The blandness of the creme sauce was slightly offset by a giant pile of cheese on top. There's this big globby of chedar-like cheesecloud hovering over the poor little oysters, which completely smotheres them instead of blending finely into the sauce like perfect harmonies in a song. It may have been an appropriate appetizer for a sportsbar, but at a find dining place like this, I wasn't impressed but ate it anyway. Pass: Pan Seared Scallops: There were only 2 of them. Served with a white sauce and an assortment of veggies. These were good, and most veggies cooked to perfection. I think there should have been 4. That's my only complaint. Fail: Seafood bisque soup. This one got sent back. Just plain bad. It had some flavor, but was a bad consistency. Thin as water. Didn't have a nice smooth clean creamy texture you hope to be greeted by on the first bit. This dish tasted disorganized if one can say that. It was like the food was thrown in the soup but none of the flavors really meshed and jelled. It was like 4 shellfish thrown in a bowl of red stuff, vs a finely crafted soup. Epic Fail:The chicken gorgonzola, which was basically chicken and noodles in an alfredo sauce was the second to get sent back. It had a bit of a spicy kick to it, but not a very nice one. I really wanted to like this dish, but after 3 bites, it just didn't pass. Sent it back. Fail: Surf and Turf: Filet/Crabcake/Veggies/Potato. Everything came out nicely except the steak. Ordered medium rare. Came out done like a potroast. We sent it back. Winner: Surf and Turf: (2nd try) moist, juicy, tender, flavorful, beautifully seasoned. 100% Winner. Pass: Kansass City Dry Aged KC stip. A $40 steak. Tasted good but didn't have that amazing steak flare to it. Asked for a side of Berenaise sauce, and it showed up promptly to save the day. The problem is that shouldn't have been needed to make an Angus Prime steak taste amazing. Winner: Ceasar Salad was awesomely creamy and zesty with a hint of anchovies Pass: Key Lime Pie: Good Pass: Creme Burlee: Good Other notes: The staff was nice and the hostess didn't seem overly agitated at the amount of dishes that we sent back. The complimentary Valet parking was a nice bonus.

Upscale and worth any cent you spent. Environment is really nice and cozy. We love to go there on special occasions like anniversary or birthday. The food is amazing, how they plate it just wonderful. From appetizer over main course to dessert...you will not be disappointed.

Loved the atmosphere! Was a great destination to celebrate our wedding anniversary! I must say our Bar experience was much better than table experience but we dined late and I think our server was just a but off his game. Steaks were a standout! Would definitely go back next time were in town!!
