Really solid breakfast spot on McBee. The biscuits are delicious and the setting is really nice and bright. A lot of business executives go here for breakfast and lunch time and time again. Any place that has a regulars is a spot worth noting. The menu is simple and not over the top with deconstructed omelettes (scrambled eggs). I've only had the mega breakfast so far but I hear the eggs benedict and pancake selection is pretty on point. Now I'm getting hungry. Thanks Yelp.

First let me say the management here is horrendous. I came here with my boyfriend and his family he got the eggs Benedict and found a hair in his food. He went to show the owner and he completely shrugged it off and did not care and acted like it was nothing. He wanted to get a crab cake instead of the eggs Benedict again and the owner told him he couldn't do that because it was too big of a price difference. Instead the owner offered to replace half of his eggs Benedict because he had already eaten half of it. We will never come back here again. The rest of the food was alright but nothing to write home about. Just know that if you come here and have a problem with their food they will do nothing about it.

We've been a couple of times before, but this is my first review for breakfast. I doubt we'll go back, so it will be my last. The blueberry pancakes were delicious. Everything else was just okay. The large order of bacon was $4 for four scrawny pieces, so this seemed overpriced. I honestly can't see what the draw to this place is. It is very nondescript and unorganized, and I for one just didn't feel welcome. Plus, it is expensive. My biggest problem was the service. Amanda, our waitress, was overwhelmed with the Sunday crowd and it showed. She didn't bring my husband his coffee and just nodded her head and said "I know" when he reminded her, all the while very impatiently asking us what we wanted to eat. She was just too busy to stop and fill a cup for him, but continued to refill everyone else around us. It was bizarre. When she brought us our food but not utensils, butter or syrup, I was almost afraid to ask for fear of sending her over the edge. Overall, it was just an uncomfortable experience that we choose not to repeat. I hope downtown Greenville will get more options for breakfast soon.

Very nice looking establishment, friendly and welcoming hosts and staff. Our group of three tried the mega-breakfast with pancakes, the lemon ricotta lemon pancakes and the crab & asparagus eggs benedict. Everything nicely cooked and attractively presented. Pancakes were perfectly done and delicious. Benedict dish was perfectly done with generous amounts of crab and asparagus. Prices seemed a bit high for the benedict and mega-breakfast as well as the side-dish items. Would probably classify this place as $$$ rather than $$. Would definitely return here again on special occasions.

If you want a REAL breakfast in the downtown area on a weekday (not just a bagel or croissant or scone from a coffee shop...not knockin' it, but sometimes you want an actual meal in the morning), this is the place to go! French press coffee, eggs benedict (several ways, including one that features crab cake!), crepes (traditional served with lemon curd or the irresistable Nutella and banana crepes), and the drool-worthy Bacon Waffle (seriously...you don't want to skip this one!) make the trip absolutely worth your while.

Classic American breakfast/ brunch place with very friendly servers. Ordering the 2 eggs, toast, hash brown/ grits, and your choice of ham, corned beef, etc is by itself, a warriors feast. Not to mention, their mouth watering sweet potato pancakes, their variety of jams (including but not limited too peach jams). and freshly squeezed OJ are heavenly delightful!

I was starving and homesick. This fed my stomach and the friendly waiters and owner made me feel right at home. Lemon ricotta pancakes were perfectly light and fluffy and the lemon curd was fabulous

Not just because I like the name, Mary Beth's gets the "Best Breakfast In Downtown Greenville" award. This delicious little sidewalk eatery serves up fluffy buttermilk pancakes, perfect scrambled eggs (with or without fresh herbs and goat cheese=mmm!), creamy grits - you get the picture. So far I've only dined in for breakfast, although I have taken lunch to go. The latter was so-so, but I will have to try again. More to come...

My husband and I grabbed breakfast here Sunday morning before heading over to the Indie Craft Parade. We've never been to Mary Beth's before and wanted to give it a shot. For one, we don't usually go that far down McBee, and enjoyed getting to walk around and look at the developing shopping and living spaces over there. Good to see a space that wouldn't have been considered much at all 20 years ago be so wonderfully redone today. We entered and were immediately greeted by a nice woman and an older gentleman. The gentleman asked us how we were doing, seated us right away, and even asked if we'd prefer a table or a booth (we're booth people). We waited a few minutes for our waitress, but we were tucked in the corner and all but invisible so we didn't mind. Our waitress was super cheerful and took our drink order right away. We ordered a French press coffee. It was dark and velvety in texture, and came with perfect chilled cream. I love a place that keeps Sugar in the Raw packets with the other sugar options on the table! Our meals were very similar, so I can't tell you a ton about the different options, but delicious nonetheless. I ordered the Upstate Eggs Benedict, which came with a horseradish hollandaise sauce and a corned beef hash along with your traditional two eggs and english muffin. Loved it. The corned beef hash was amazingly delicious! Jason ordered two eggs, toast, hash brown-style potatoes and corned beef as well. His potatoes were just right; crispy and brown on the outside, but soft on the inside. We also ordered a set of biscuits so we could try out their jams and honey. I kind of wish now that I'd just ordered biscuits and jam, because whatever kind of fruit jam we received was great. The older gentleman who seated us also stopped by our table once to see how we were doing, and our waitress checked on us a couple of times as well. The woman at the register who helped us pay our bill was cheerful and I think every person we saw wished us a good day on our way out. I don't know if we just caught 'em on a good day, but I have no idea where these complaints about service are coming from, because this Sunday morning breakfast was one of the best, service-wise, we've had in downtown Greenville. The food isn't avant-garde but that is exactly where it excels - it's exceptionally done traditional breakfast foods. I plan to come back and try out the oatmeal, too!

Breakfast lovers will like it, lunch goers should skip it. I had the sweet potato pancakes, lemon ricotta pancakes, and goat cheese scrambled eggs. The sweet potato pancakes were fantastic - some of the best that I've had, actually. The lemon ricotta pancakes were very good, but not the best out there. There was something off about the eggs, but I couldn't quite place what - would probably avoid them next time. The people I was with ordered the chicken salad sandwiches, which were entirely dark meat. They were very unhappy with their meal, as I would be. So like I said before - if you are coming for lunch, look elsewhere.

Probably the most overlooked place in Greenville. The food and service are always good. The kitchen is managed by a real chef and takes pride in their food.

Great place for breakfast very friendly staff and accommodating to a large group. The alternative Tupelo Honey Cafe not so accommodating---although we have been to the one in Asheville and loved the food we were not disappointed at MaryBeths---so don't be afraid to try it out. Easy walk from Hyatt Regency and no issues with parking if you drive as Publix lot directly behind the building. Friendly host and waitress was awesome. Most ordered the Mega Breakfast---eggs any way you like--I had the applewood bacon--yum and the lemon ricotta pancakes--crispy edges and flat just like I like them. Biscuit sliced and nicely toasted on the grill served with homemade fig marmalade or strawberry and honey. Hot pancake syrup served in small ceramic pitchers. Nutella and banana crepes were large and delicious. Coffee nice but could be a bit warmer. Grilled shrimp sandwich was tender and served with bacon and nice sauce. Grits stoned ground and creamy. Will definitely visit again when in town.

You really can't beat this place for breakfast. The service is warm and friendly. I had the short stack of pancakes and spicy sausage which was outstanding.

Been a few times. Always a good crowd. Service sometime great, sometimes ok, food always excellent Omelets and their egg dishes (e.g., scrambled with cream cheese and scallions) are fluffy, filling and delicious. A family run business by owners who are obviously attentive to customers and every detail. This has become a local favorite of our for breakfast or lunch!

  • Alison B.

Great place "downtown". It's downtown but far enough from Main St that it's easy to park and not overcrowded. Open until 3 and serving breakfast the whole time so great for Saturday or Sunday late brunch. Lemon ricotta pancakes are light and lemony and fabulous with the ricotta nearly hidden away in the batter giving just the right flavor. Also loved the scrambles eggs with cream cheese and scallions. Pretty good over menu selection and pretty good price. Experienced very friendly and good service.

So boring. If I wanted Ihop, I could just go there. Add something, anything, to the menu other that any kid could make. When we arrived for brunch, the restaurant was half empty, and we were told it'd take a few minutes for us to be seated, so we sat at the "counter", which basically the kids table. After that, it took another 10 minutes for us to even get water. Finally being asked if we'd like anything other than water, we ordered Bloody Mary's, and looked at the "menu". Our drinks came, which were mostly a dinosaur sized piece of celery and a little ice and tomato juice and possibly vodka. When I took the celery out of the glass, it was only half full! Avoid this place like the plague. If you have no taste (food or otherwise), you'll LOVE it here.

I have been here multiple times, but only because there are not many breakfast placed here in Greenville. The food is good, although not exceptional. The decor leaves alot to be desired. By far the worst part is the service. They always look at you like like 'oh, crap another customer' when you walk in. It takes forever, and the waitstaff could not care less about what you need. If we had more breakfast places this would have closed a long time ago

After a 5 star review back in 2012 and several other good meals over the past almost two years I hate that I have to write this new revised review but I was deeply disappointed with my experience today. I normally always order either the bacon waffle or the Mary Beth's Benedict and yes, they are both kinda of pricey but I've never had a problem with the cost of either. But today I wanted something different and basic so I ordered 2 eggs, sausage, toast and grits. Yes, the price was printed plainly on the menu but I thought for $7.25 it would something special. I got 2 eggs, nothing special, didn't taste local or free range like their website indicates. ONE sausage patty. Again, definitely not from a local supplier. Two pieces of toast and a small bowl of grits. Everything was good but just average. And definitely NOT worth $7.25. Very very disappointed and not real sure if I'll go back for my two favorites again. Come on, Mary Beth's! I don't mind anyone making a profit, just don't try to make it all off of me! My new favorite breakfast place in Greenville! The bacon waffle is amazing and you have to try to the Mary Beth Benedict with plenty of crabmeat and asparagus. While breakfast is when I normally go, I have been there for lunch and love the shrimp BLT. Service is always good, the owners are so friendly and it's just a great local restaurant close to everything!

I like Marybeth's yet it's hard paying $10 for two eggs bacon & toast just saying! But it is yummy!

This was my first meal in South Carolina! I haven't been back yet, but I plan to. The food was really delicious. I had an egg biscuit which was delightful, hash browns were crispy, and fresh fruit was also ripe and flavorful. The only weird thing was when we walked in, there was a row of identically dressed young women literally lined up and staring at us as we came through the door. Kind of unnerving. But the waitress we got was really friendly, so it ended up being fine in the end. I also saw two different tables having breakfast cocktails (bloody mary, mimosa) on a Monday morning, which I found surprising, but amusing. We plan to go back on a weekend and try some of these ;)

Exceptional Fresh and well prepared food... I think you will be pleasantly surprised! I have enjoyed a few very good meals here and looking forward to many more! Great use of fresh ingredients! Fresh roasted red peppers, not canned on the grilled eggplant sandwich... Light and fluffy Scrambled eggs with goat cheese and fresh basil... Quality hot tea bags... All this and Great prices too.

Great place to spend a Sunday morning. Wonderful breakfast dishes and excellent Sunday brunch drinks (their bloody marys are indredible and they are also one of teh few places you can get a Hibiscus). Ask for an outdoor table by the sidewalk.

Family owned and operated, wonderfully friendly, and good food. Chef Chuck oversees quality and preparation for all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner Thur-Sat), but our favorite is breakfast. Greenville has lacked a breakfast restaurant that offers comfort along with imaginative food. Mary Beth's meets that need. Try the Eggs Benedict "Upstate" (with corned beef hash and horseradish; a nice twist on standard Benedict hollandaise). My wife loves the lemon ricotta pancakes. And our grandson thinks Mary Beth's is the best place going! Not to leave dinner out of this review, however, the arugula salad is outstanding. This is not a low-end breakfast stop, but the prices are no higher than a dozen other breakfast restaurants (and lower than some). Good value for the money; nice surroundings with a lot of light, just off Main Street in downtown Greenville. A great family runs Mary Beth's. Give them a try!

Went here on Sunday for brunch. Called ahead to ask about the wait and the person who picked up the phone was rude and said I'd just have to show up to find out. When we got there, the restaurant was 50% empty! We looked at the restaurant's website and we thought it was going to be slightly fancy. It wasn't fancy at all! It looked like a casual, family owned diner with high priced (but good) food. I got nutella and banana crepes, hot chocolate, and hashbrowns. The crepes were warm and delicious. They resembled crepes that I've had from a street vendor in Paris! D ordered a spinach and feta omelet along with bacon. It was chock full of feta which made it savory good. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal but it was a bit overpriced. It came out to about ~$35 for just the two of us! After ordering, we unfortunately had to wait 30+ minutes for our meal go arrive which is a long time for 2 people during brunch. Apparently there was a large order before ours. Our waitress was really nice and apologetic though. I would probably go back if I was craving crepes but overall, it was just "A-OK".

Our experience at Mary beths was disappointing. We were not acknowledged by a server for at least 10 minutes and then we waited almost an hour for our food. We went around 11 am on a Sunday morning, and I understand that's a busy time, but I still consider an hour wait for food to be ridiculous! The server acted scatter brained, paying very little attention to us. The food was mediocre, and not really worth the wait. Several tables around us had the same complaints about the inadequate service and long wait for food. Don't think we will be returning to Mary beths!

Food - exceptional! realized our order was quite picky, but got it all perfect....made my egg whites as requested, hot milk, crispy hash browns. Atmosphere - very clean, neat looking - unlike local independent joints are pretty rundown Price - not the best prices in town, $35 for two people to have breakfast seemed like a bit much

Great breakfast had by the entire family! Our waitress Lori embodied all of the charm and friendliness that the south is famous for! The coffee was amazing - the omelette are fantastic and nice and steaming hot... The best though are their pancakes! What a great way to start the day and close enough to walk from the Westin Pointsett. Thanks for a great start to a beautiful day in your great town!!

I don't love the atmosphere, or the straws without wrappings. We sat next to the window which was nice, but the decor is very bland. There were also more than one day's crumbs in the window sill beside me. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on asiago ciabatta with a side caesar salad. The portions were nice, but the flavors weren't especially exciting. FYI the chicken salad consists of white and dark meat, with the occasional surprise crouton. I got water, and my total was $12.42. Update: $7 for carrot cake sounds like a lot, until they bring you a quarter of an entire cake! It is SO good!

Service was great. Food was bland. Chicken salad sandwich was really bland. The chicken salad lacked flavor. I don't like super spicy things but I've had better chicken salad from a grocery store. Seriously. Expensive for the quality you receive.

I found Mary Beth's on Yelp and decided to try it out on Sunday morning for breakfast with my friend. We wanted to go somewhere that offered a good Bloody Mary. Let me say, the Bloody Mary was delicious. One of the best I've had in the state! I ordered the MB breakfast plate and substituted my short stack for the lemon ricotta pancakes. The pancakes were simply delicious! So tasty that I didn't even use any syrup on them. My eggs and sausage were good, too. My only complaint is that the restaurant was very busy that morning, so we decided to sit outside so that we wouldn't have to wait for a table inside. It still took over 1 hour for us to get our food and over 2 hours total to have breakfast. If they know they're going to be busy on Sundays, they should hire more staff instead of making customers wait so long. Thankfully, we had a wonderful waitress and she took off our first two Bloody Marys from the bill and apologized for the wait on our food. I greatly appreciated her effort.

Had the Mary Beth eggs Benedict; awesome! Very busy on the Sunday morning we went, but did not have wait long. Great service, great food, in downtown Greenville, and price isn't too bad. Was 30 bucks for our plates but average should be right at $20 for two. Gets a little cramped but worth it!

Don't go here if you are visiting from out of town. The food is equivalent to diner food. It's ok but really basic. There's not a single thing on the menu you could consider 'southern', well except for a biscuit. The staff was very friendly but the place is incredibly outdated. A complete time wrap plus some odd paintings for sale hanging on the walls. Wouldn't go back. Plus it's not a close walk from Main Street.

Don't go. Just don't go. But if you must, at least heed my warning. I visited this restaurant with friends at the completion of an impromptu road trip excursion. The food was decent. It met the basic criteria of edible food- chew, taste, and swallow. Everything but that damn country ham. I was in disbelief at how inconsumably salty it was. I had no choice but to return it. At the end of my otherwise digestible meal, the server presented me with a check that included the ham that I'd returned. Hoping that it was in error, I asked her to correct it. She summoned the manager. He proceed to inform me in the most condescending and disparaging fashion that he "can't do anything with a dish that I bit into." Even a small bit, sir? Because I must taste it to make a determination as to whether I'll enjoy it? He didn't care. Even a small bite. I suppose it was his small mom and pop "you break it you buy it" policy that disgusted me. So---- my words of advice are--- only order a dish that you are 100% sure that you will like. Do not take risks. Order the minimum amount that will sustain your hungry soul. Otherwise, you're facing an unnecessary debate about nothing more than the basic expectations of good customer service. And you'll lose. You will lose. I did.

Canned corn beef hash Benedict for 14 bucks!!....and it took 30 minutes for it to hit the table....decor feels like a cheap afterthought.....some people have no business being in F&B.

The food is extremely overpriced, but tasty nonetheless. The host (owner?) is clearly in the wrong business. His pompous attitude is off-putting to say the least. Positive take away is that I'll never have to see him again.

Mary Beth's is a nice change when you want something nicer than the standard choices you get just about everywhere else. The lemon ricotta pancakes, the scrambled eggs with scallions and goat cheese and the crab and asparagus eggs benedict are all great and unique. With that said though, it's not a budget breakfast place and the atmosphere is just a little better than your typical diner or cafe.

  • Tammy R.

When we first got here, we weren't expecting what was to come. Had the Applewood Bacon Waffles and the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. It occurred to me pretty quickly that the lemon meringue sauce that comes with the pancakes is concentrated fairy dust... Seriously... Just sprinkle that $&@# on EVERYTHING! Then there are the waffles... Salty/SWEET epicness all rolled into one. Also had a mimosa with so much fruit, it was like a drunk fruit salad! OMG! That was a roll your eyes in the back of your head good breakfast! I still dream about it... Cannot WAIT to go back!!!

Ehhh! A former co-worker recommended we eat her as it is one of their favorite restaurants. It was ok, worth a try. I'm not dying to go back there, but would. I found it to be way over priced for what you get. It's breakfast food, lets keep it simple.

I had a very good experience at this restaurant. My wife and I had an appointment we needed to keep, and let our waitress know. She told the cook to rush our order, and he did. The food was great. The owner approached us and inquired about our visit, and we talked for a few minutes. The only thing I will say is that I felt somewhat underdressed for the place. The proximity to Downtown Greenville's business district lends itself to the business suit crowd. Not a complaint, just our experience. Overall, I was not disappointed.

Awesome place for breakfast near downtown Greenville. We ate the place out of food - delicious pancakes (def recommend the sweet potato pancakes), eggs, grits, hash browns, and biscuits. The waitress was super nice, too, and really accommodating. We wished there was a place like this near our house in SF. Will come back next time we are in town!!

  • Cara S.

This place was an absolute gem. While the breakfast menu was smaller, they had enough items to please all tastes. We were lucky to get a table with no problem without a reservation. We sat outside and the owner was very attentive and checked on us several times. I enjoyed the Mary's Benedict- two poached eggs over wheat toast (a request they happily obliged) topped with lump crab and asparagus. So fresh, so delicious! The coffee was very good to. We will definitely go back next time we visit Greenville.

Totally in love with this place. The breakfast is amazing. Service is top notch and it's conveniently tucked on McBee in downtown. I wouldn't pass it up if you are looking for a spot for a quick business meeting in the morning or a late breakfast on the weekends.

A nice low-key breakfast spot, more similar to a diner experience than a brunch outing. Their egg dishes don't blow me away, but their pancakes are worth writing home about; a nice consistency, they are like a fusion of a pancake and a crepe. I never order pancakes and don't crave them besides here; recommend the lemon poppy or sweet potato varieties.

Horrible service, the lady gave us an attitude and was rude when we asked her if they had bottomless mimosas. She acted like she didn't want to work there, may she shouldn't. We ended tipping her anyways jus to be nice.

Stopped in Greenville on the way to my grand tour of the southern part of US and I meet up with a friend this morning for some breakfast. When I ask, "what is there to eat in Greenville?" She told me we will HAVE TO stop by Mary Meth's no matter what. The weather is fabulous this morning for patio seats, so what's what we chose to do. We were quickly greeted by our waitress, and since the menu is not that extensive, we made our meal selections, included the mimosas. The food is definitely of great quality. I ordered Egg Benedict, in the style of their namesake, which topped with grilled asparagus, lump crab meat (which by the way was plentiful!) and the usual hollandaise. I quickly devoured mine. My companion had ordered Egg Benedict as well, but with the Upstate style, which topped with hearty beef hash and horseradish hollandaise. The food was fantastic, and the service we received from the staffs (we happened to had the chance to chat with the owner for a little bit as well, as he sat outside enjoying a little smoke break.) If I ever come into town again, I will make sure this is going to be one of my places to hit up.

Great little place for breakfast on a Sunday morning if you are not in a hurry to get anywhere fast afterwards. Food is good, pancakes delicious, coffee tasty - not your average tastes like everyone else's coffee. Staff was friendly. Another place we should all frequent as it is locally-owned and operated. I am a bit surprised by some of the reviews, we had no problems at all. Hopefully the next time we won't either.

I came here for a Sunday brunch/lunch. We were there a little early to miss the after-church lunch crowd, but it was getting pretty busy by the time we left. The good was really delicious. I had the tomato basil soup and the turkey/apple/brie sandwich and really enjoyed both. It sounds like everyone else at the table also really enjoyed their meals. The staff was really friendly, and the service was fairly quick, especially considering how busy it seemed to be. It's a little off the main street, so I'd never heard of it before, but I'm glad I went! The only bad thing is that there is not much parking nearby and I had to make a couple laps around the block before I found a spot.

MaryBeth's is too busy for togo orders on Sundays! Wasted trip. A friend called in a togo order as I left for Mary Beth's. Forgot my cell. On arrival, three people are looking for my order until they finally figured out their own house rule - no togo orders on Sunday - "too buys". Wasted trip. They were only half full at the time! Why not staff more people if you know you're going to be busy? Changing the rules like this all the time is just confusing. So, don't go on Sundays if service is important for you - they can't deliver. Staff is always a bit up tight and not real friendly. Now I know I won't go back!

We were looking for something other than a hotel breakfast and saw this place on Yelp. Service was good and the food was great. Three in our party. One had the spinach omlete, another had the blueberry pancakes, and I had scrambled eggs, hash browns, and bacon. Everything arrived hot and in a reasonable time as the place was packed on a rainy Sunday morning. We'll go back the next time we're in Greenville. I consider this find a WIN!

My sister lives at McBee Station so every time I go visit it is really convenient to go here. The food is good, typical brunch food. It also seems to have a large amount of local regulars. Good service, fair price, decent food, clean bathrooms. Pretty good! The only thing that it seemed to be missing was some sort of music or something playing, it always seems a little eerily quiet!

The slowest kitchen in the South! Don't expect fast service at this place, or for them to deliver your food to the right place! Oh and some people are told of the specials and others are not. If they would stop running around so frantic they might get something right. Panic never produces positive results.

Mary Beth's has the perfect brunch atmosphere. It is clean, attractive, and classy without being snobby. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Mary Beth-style Eggs Benedict with the asparagus and lump crab. FYI the dish had plenty of both asparagus and lump crab. I know that I can get breakfast for cheaper than $13.95--but the meal was attractive, delicious, and filling (I didn't notice being hungry again until dinner). When I finished, I didn't feel like I was paying too much for what I had received because I had truly enjoyed my meal. The menu seems a little overpriced ($7.50 for scrambled eggs? $8.95 for an omelet?). However, I think that Mary Beth's excels in elegance in simplicity. After experiencing the MB Eggs Benedict, I feel confident daring to try to the overpriced scrambled eggs. Okay... maybe not the scrambled eggs... but I am definitely willing to try the omelet. I bet it's delicious.

Attentive staff and ok food. But silly plate sharing fee. How ridiculous and really unfair to customers -- an extra $2 fee if I want to give someone at my table part of my meal. Tacky......

This is a roadside greasy spoon dressed up by Ross. We went to Greenville for a family visit and MB's was recommended due to walking distance from the hotel. Skip it and Go somewhere else. Runny eggs, corned beef out of a can and it just gets worse.

It is a tad pricier - but worth it. The breakfast sandwiches on ciabatta are really good and quite filling. The pancakes are the best ever (except for one time when it tasted like maybe they cooked them on the grease of some meat... But people aren't perfect and one not as delicious experience out of twenty is ok with me) They are perfectly crisp outside and soft inside, and taste amazing. I have yet to find better pancakes.

  • Shaun G.

Deplorable customer service - First we get skipped to get seated AS we are standing there. Then we get told we can't get seated because the rest of our party wasn't there but the lady that got seated when we should have been didn't have the rest of her party either. Once I asked why all of this happened, and get a very poor attempt at an answer, I express how unnecessary this was. I then get told that "this might not be the restaurant for you, buddy." If in "for me" you mean a person expecting NOT to get treated like my hungry wife and kid don't matter because of you're ignorant owner/ door man or whatever else he is then you are absolutely right. This was a result of either ignorance, racism or incompetence; Either way there was no good reason. Customer service is dying and this restaurant is a prime example.

  • Tamara S.

  • Stephanie J.

Simple menu and simply terrific. Service was great. Food was wonderful. And the setting is very nice. Good neighborhood too. We will be back.

Breakfast was heavenly! The lemon ricotta pancakes with lemon curd OMG. Corned beef hash very good. Service top notch.

  • AC D.

Delicious breakfast spot! I was in town visiting and wanted to find a great local, Southern restaurant- Mary Beth's fit the bill:)

Great place to spend a Sunday morning. Wonderful breakfast dishes and excellent Sunday brunch drinks (their bloody marys are indredible and they are also one of teh few places you can get a Hibiscus). Ask for an outdoor table by the sidewalk.

  • Michele S.

    (3)
  • Tamara S.

  • Jason F.

The food is good but nothing extraordinary for the prices. The portions are average size so it doesn't make up. The food is ok.

  • Kristina S.

    (2)
  • Michael R.

Canned corn beef hash Benedict for 14 bucks!!....and it took 30 minutes for it to hit the table....decor feels like a cheap afterthought.....some people have no business being in F&B.

I did.

The food is extremely overpriced, but tasty nonetheless. The host (owner?) is clearly in the wrong business. His pompous attitude is off-putting to say the least. Positive take away is that I'll never have to see him again.

  • Mike K.

  • David B.

  • Laura K.

  • Stephanie H.

  • Tyrell M.

The slowest kitchen in the South! Don't expect fast service at this place, or for them to deliver your food to the right place! Oh and some people are told of the specials and others are not. If they would stop running around so frantic they might get something right. Panic never produces positive results.

Attentive staff and ok food. But silly plate sharing fee. How ridiculous and really unfair to customers -- an extra $2 fee if I want to give someone at my table part of my meal. Tacky......

This is a roadside greasy spoon dressed up by Ross. We went to Greenville for a family visit and MB's was recommended due to walking distance from the hotel. Skip it and Go somewhere else. Runny eggs, corned beef out of a can and it just gets worse.

Simple menu and simply terrific. Service was great. Food was wonderful. And the setting is very nice. Good neighborhood too. We will be back.
