Really expensive pizza that only taste ok.The bartender was really nice ,inviting , and seemed knowledgeable about the pizza . The restaurant was slow and my pizza came out quickly. When I arrived home I noticed the crust was burnt in some spots . Not sure if I would return.

The service at the outdoor bar (Miguel and John, bartenders) was awesome. Attentive but not overbearing. The beer was cold and the pizza (pepperoni, spicy chicken sausage, onion & mushroom) was awesome. Pizza is NY style with thin crispy crust and was cooked perfectly. My wife LOVED sitting at the outdoor bar. We will visit frequently when Woodruff Rd. traffic allows. ..

Pizza was very good. Thin crust, nice sauce, good amount of cheese. Calzone was so cheese I almost choked trying to eat it. Kids didn't like the pizza much because it was "black". Just some delicious dark spots from the oven. VERY EXPENSIVE!! 2 salads, 1 cheese pizza, a sm calzone, glass of wine and beer with tip $80

This place has excellent pizza and the Caesar salad is one of the best. Just be careful on the number of toppings, it will add up quickly on your bill.

Excellent pizza but very high prices and long wait times.

As a true NY'er who just moved here from BK let me say that this place is about as authentic as a Canal Street handbag. Some guy buys the Grimaldis name, puts up some pictures of Nyc, plays some F.Sinatra on the radio and rips people off with his "authentic" pizzeria. I call BS, save your money and support your local pizza spot.

Ok, if you are looking for a cool "New York" atmosphere and want to pay New York Pizza prices--this is your place. My family and I were looking forward to trying out this new addition to the Greenville area and came for a Saturday late lunch--around 2:30pm. We had a group of 8 and didn't have to wait for a table which was great! Once you see the menu you notice 2 things--no real appetizers and New York pizza is expensive. Granted the sizes are 12"S 16"M 18"L- (which are big) this is just for dough, sauce, and some cheese for around $15. Every other topping is $2-4. So for let's say a supreme large pizza would equal around $30 and feed at most 3 people. All in all the taste was good and the pizza had quality ingredients. I look forward to coming back and trying the calzone.

Stopped here for dinner. Not very busy. The food was excellent - had a half white, half red pizza and a Mediterranean salad. The only problem was our waitress. She was fine in the beginning but then she was hard to get back. Waited quite awhile for our check. But I would come back for the pizza.

I am so disappointed by my experience that I took the time to write this review. We decided to try this place after a movie last night, a Wednesday night, after hearing all of the hype plus my boyfriend loves pizza. We got there around 915pm not knowing when they closed (10pm). They sat us and we noticed immediately how focused the entire staff was on getting out of there. Literally every employee was rolling silverware, bussing tables, rushing around, everything besides tending to the customers. There were at least 5 tables of customers including us. Several employees were wolfing down what was most likely their first meal in hours at a table in the corner, so unprofessional. We finally got a waitress after asking for one. We didn't get any water until our first beers were gone and again we had to ask an employee to get our waitress. Minutes later a different waitress brought us 1 water. We let her know we had asked for 2, we eventually got another. When the manager brought our pizza to the table I honestly thought things were turned around because she noticed my beer and asked if I'd like another and had the waitress put it in. This was the first time we had even seen our waitress since we got our first beers. 3 slices of pizza later each and still no beer. We told them to forget the beer and asked for a box. The waitress then decided to interrogate us mutliple times about when the beer was put in and help determine whether the bartender or our waitress was lying to the manager. This is extremely unprofessional. The manager told us it had been happening all day; the bar staff not getting drinks quickly. She took the beer we never got, off of the bill and comp´ed us a piece of cheesecake but I am concerned they don't get why... It should have been for customer negligence and lack of service as they all talked about who would handle filling the salt shakers and who did the most silverware, not because I didn't get my second beer. I used to be a waitress so I get that you want to get home but I'm sad because I had such high hopes for this "authentic" NY Pizza joint. I am from Massachusetts and have been to plenty of authentic NY pizza restaurants up North that have much better service. Owell, pleeeenty of delicious restaurants close by and we will be going to those places post movie night from now on.

Delicious as always!! Pizza is phenomenal. We are around 5 so it wasn't too busy and the food arrived fast.

This is not the same restaurant in Brooklyn. Its got to be a knockoff. My pizza was 30 bucks hardly had any cheese. The crust was dry and no sauce. Too many 4/5 star reviews to be real.

The service was mediocre at best and the food took about 40 minutes for a personal pan pizza, but the food was excellent.

Being a native New Yorker, my pizza standards are pretty stringent. Pizza outside of the city will never be the same elsewhere. With that said, this pizza was realllllyyyyyy good. I think it's a safe bet that we will be regulars. We had a large pie with Italian sausage, nothing fancy. It was so good, I almost wanted to eat another slice even though I was stuffed. I was eye balling the canollis on the menu, but will have to save room for that next time. I'd seen reviews where people commented on that it was pricey. I didn't think so. But you can be the judge. Large cheese pie-$16 REAL Italian sausage topping- $2 The soft drinks are a bit steep at $2.50, but that seems to be the norm lately. If you like good pizza, you have to give them a try

Always on the lookout for a new place to eat Restaurants like this would have made it more satisfying to just burn the money rather than eat the food Ok, coal over sounds cool right? Is the pizza really correct with black bitter dust all over the bottom ? It was pretty nasty My fingers looked like I had been in a coal fire I ordered a salad with chicken too They just threw the chicken they put on the pizza on the salad Maybe it'd be ok it this was a cheap place but come on I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was in this place So gross

Wish I could give more than two stars because on paper this place looks very good and the feel of the restaurant makes you think the meal will be great. Unfortunately it wasn't great at all because the effort wasn't there. We ordered a small Caesar salad to split and added grilled chicken for something like $6. The chicken they used was the $2 chicken used as pizza topping. I expected that at a higher price than pizza topping that it would be freshly cooked. Not impressed with the lack of effort there. Despite it being a coal brick oven, I don't think that the pizza needed to be covered in coal ash. Clean that oven regularly to avoid that mess! Ingredients and service were good, the effort from the kitchen didn't match.

The beverage selection was limited, but good. I'm not qualified to judge wine selections, didn't notice the beer selections, and the fountain drinks were pretty standard, as was the sweet tea. Positives: The crust was really good. It had a nice crunch, a good chew with few bubbles. I will also put the vegetables in the positive category. The onions were plentiful, but needed a better spread as they seemed to all be in the center of the pie itself. The Staff. Negatives: 53 dollars for two twelve-inch pizzas, each with 2 toppings and a small caesar salad, and 4 soft drinks. Really? I understand the whole NY vibe and all, but this is Greenville SC, not Manhattan...bring that price down. The sauce was too sweet and too watery. The meat toppings were scant, and the cheese, which was good quality, needed at least 20% more on the pizza. The salad dressing was also pretty thin as well. Aside from the price, the main problem with these pizzas were the spices, which were also nil. Perhaps in NY pizza is supposed to be bland? I was not happy, and there are too many good places in Greenville/Spartanburg to eat to go back here again.

Very nice atmosphere. The pizza is delicious. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and of high quality. But be prepared for a wallet hit. It obviously costs good money for high quality. You will be reminded of that when you pay. Spent about 80 for meal for 6 without alcohol. Desserts are almost as good as their pizza, almost.

First time here. The service was perfect. The pizza toppings are obviously fresh and high quality. The small caesar salad was plenty to split for two people. The pepperoni and Italian sausage were especially good. The crust is thin and tasty. Side note: Not a cheap option. Good pizza and nice atmosphere, but can rack up a big check quickly with toppings.

Brick oven pizza! Great crust and good mozzarella that gives you that squelch in your molars when you bite down. Perfect amount of slightly too sweet sauce. Only downside was the bottom has a lot of char which gets all over your fingers and mouth. The ambiance is nice with great Italian/jazz music. Had the small pepperoni which had 6 generous slices for $16. Good for 2 very hungry or 3 average lunchers. I would definitely go back.

The Caprese salad was excellent, could not get enough of it. Coming from NY I have had better brick oven pizza but it was good anyway. The price was good for the ambiance. Would definitely go back.

If you're looking for a FRESH, HIGH QUALITY pizza, this is your spot. Yes, it is a little pricier than other options, but the quality really stood out for me on this visit. The large was big enough for two, with a little bit left over for a snack later. Great beer and wine selection, and the staff seemed very attentive and efficient. We sat out on the patio, before it got to hot, and it was a perfect lunchtime pizza experience.

I finally got to try Grimaldi's Pizzeria after anticipating it's opening for weeks. Pros: the best pizza I have ever had. New York style and brick oven, made with quality ingredients that you can taste in the difference in other pizza restaurants. I love the warm and casual (yet, trendy) atmosphere, and really love the outdoor bar and the patio seating. The wine by bottle prices are reasonable. The service was prompt and friendly. Cons: Very limited menu with no appetizers or shareable options. The price; Grimaldi's may have brought us a New York pizza experience, but they also brought New York prices. For a personal white pizza with 5 toppings and 1 draft beer, the total with tax was $30.24. That is too much for me for a pizza lunch. This seems to be the case in the other new restaurants recently opened in that same area. I realize Greenville thinks of itself as the new "up and coming" place to be, but, the wages of most do not reflect Greenville's new hip identify. So, unfortunately, Grimaldi's will not replace my weekly usual pizza joint, but will become a special pizza experience only. To sum up: Awesome N.Y. pizza with inflated N.Y. prices.

The pizza was good enough to keep me ordering from here. Not the best pizza I've had, but possibly the best I've had in Greenville (where frozen pre-thawed crusts aren't uncommon). The dining experience in the restaurant, however, will keep me ordering take-out: the service was below average and the restaurant was filthy. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 full, yet we had to wait 30 minutes for our pizza to be delivered. Our tablecloth had crumbs and fresh pasta stains on it from people who had dined there earlier in the evening. The table several tables over had dirty dishes and went un-bused during our entire meal. The floor needed sweeping. Disgusting. Very poorly managed restaurant.

Good pizza. Nice atmosphere not the old school Italian feel. Much more upbeat and contemporary style. Love that they change table linen after each table is cleared. Nice server staff just slow as heck! Our server had inside and patio tables. She ran herself ragged. I've had sangria from around the world and what's served as s red sangria is simply s red wine with fruit. Not good but we all have s preference. Never had a DRY Sangria. Just my opinion. Will return for the pizzas three stars for the pie!
