I have been to plenty of soul food spots bit this by far is the best. It's location is not an indication of the food. I love the food, the service and the smiles go a long way. I will come back!!!!

I must have went on an off day. I've heard alot about this place. So my Dad and I stopped by on our way back from Atlanta, The food was bland. No seasoning. The only thing that was good was the yams.

If you are in the mood for classic southern home cooked meals, then look no further than Grandma's Kitchen. Located in the old "Florida Room" adjacent to the Quality Inn, Grandma's is Greenville's best kept secret. "Grandma" had been cooking out of her home for many years, mainly for catering and takeout, but moved to this location early 2011. Grandma's is your traditional meat & 3, but come with a big appetite and you will not leave hungry. Her secret is slow cooking and the tastes are out of this world. Reminds me of my days visiting my Aunt in Alabama, when she prepared those delicious home cooked southern dishes when I was a boy. Grandma's is closed on Mondays, but open for breakfast, lunch and dinner all other days. Lunch price is very reasonable at $6.50 without drink.

Wow!!!! What an awesome restaurant in which to visit on our last day here. Sadly we didn't experience this on day one! The food from the portions to the pricing was just up our alley. To think the expensive fancy ones we went to, did not even come close! Service with a smile, warm pleasant staff. We will be back.

It's part of the Quality Inn at this location. This is a very basic operation, but the Southern style vegetables are worth it. The vibe is very friendly, after all, this IS Grandma's. I had fish too, but it was not my fave. Nice corn bread and greens! They did have Kelly Mac on the radio, that was a plus!

I liked Grandma's. The resturant was clean and the employees were friendly. ORDER THE FRIED FISH. They fry it to order so the wait is 7-10 minutes. The veggies are the reason for the three star review, I had green beans and they were cooked to death-they resembled mush. The peach cobbler is homemade. It is good and sweet with many peaches. They are not affliated with the motel. I will return.

Iama Critic Rating - Grandma's Kitchen - 4 Stars 1314 South Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC Overall: We were expecting something far different than we found at Grandma's. What we found was some superb food and extremely reasonable prices. Some of the items are five stars and perfect, and some are not up our alley. $6.95 Baked Chicken - 4 Stars This meat and three entree was ordered with black eyed peas, green beans and rice with gravy. My guest critic said this chicken was the best he every had and gave the chicken five stars. My guest is a master chef of beans and was not fond of the black eyed peas. $6.95 Meat Loaf - 4 Stars This meat and three entree was ordered with black eyed peas, mashed potatoes and squash casserole. My guest critic said this squash casserole was the best he every had and gave it five stars. But the potatoes were to plain. We felt the odd hour we went to eat may have been the reason for the meat loaf was rather dry in places and moist in others. $6.95 Fried Fish - 4 Stars This meat and three entree was ordered with cabbage, green beans and squash casserole. The whiting was fried utterly perfect, the cabbage was seriously bland, the beans, to me, were way overcooked as was the squash. However, my guest critic disagreed and said that the squash was fantastic and gave it five stars. Who am I to argue, but let it be known that the beans are squash are not al dente. They are served extremely soft. Final Thoughts: We went to Grandma's looking for a two star restaurant to help us round out our ratings on the low end. What we found was a four star place with fabulous home cooking and a lot of interesting history.

I happened to be in the area for a funeral and wanted to grab a bite before heading back to Charlotte and was referred to this place by a local. It's located inside of a hotel and the concept is a meat and 3 veggies with bread for like $8 bucks I think. They seemed to be pretty popular as there was a line to get in which was a good sign. Everything looked really good and although I really wanted the baked chicken I didn't really want to wait as they were out and waiting for more to cook......I went with the roast beef, rice, mac n cheese and cabbage. My friends had the baked chicken and ribs and they all enjoyed their food as well. My one suggestion would be to give the cabbage some seasoning because there was none.....other than that I would definitely be regular if I lived in the area.
