Iama Critic Rating - Church's Chicken - 2 Stars 302 South Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC Overall: You know, every since Al Copeland died of cancer his Popeyes and Church's Chicken empire has steadily fallen downhill. After my last disastrous trip to Church's I had pretty much written them off. But I hate writing one star reviews so I thought I would give Church's another shot, and I even picked a different location. Big mistake! I will forego my normal process of reviewing each and every item I ordered, or posting the pictures I took. Instead I will ask one simple question, "Why does Church's Chicken never show a single chicken breast in their advertising photos?" Go on Church's website and you will see gorgeous photos of mounds of fried chicken! But keep dreaming if you actually think you are going to get anything that remotely looks like their photos! And take a good look and see if you notice something very odd about their photos? There are no breast or wings. In fact I had to search seriously hard to find any pictures of Church's Chicken breast or wings. Do a Google search for Church's Chicken images and you will not find a single corporate photo of a chicken breast. You might be asking why? There is a simple answer. All other chicken places count a whole chicken as 8 pieces, 2 each of breasts, thighs, legs and wings. But not at Church's Chicken!!! Oh no, at Church's they remove the meaty, prime portion of the chicken breast and use it to make other Church's products, like chicken nuggets. So when you order a whole chicken, you don't get a whole chicken. Because Church's removes the best part of the breast and serves what is left over to you and sells it at full price! So there it is! It is not a one star review so I don't feel so bad. But I am thankful that Popeyes still exist and is doing well. Sadly though there isn't a Popeyes within 60 miles of Greenville SC.
