Our food was outstanding. We shared the onion rings for an app. I had the chicken pot pie and hubs had a Philly cheesesteak. The little one had corn dogs. Everything was hot and yummy and prices were great for what we received. But, Hannah, our server, had all the personality of a dish rag. Not a smile, a polite word or a greeting. She took our order and delivered our food. That was it. No personality or warmth at all. Had she cracked a smile or said a kind word, I might have given five stars.

The best service my wife and me have ever had. Our server, Kelly A., was incredible. Glasses were always full and the service was fast. Big team work environment. Everyone worked together to keep us well served. Bourbon sauce grilled salmon, EXCELLENT! Kelly gave me lots of extra salsa and dressing.

The food is pretty good. The service however seems to keep going downhill. The portions are fair priced. I have had about everything on their menu. There isn't anything that didn't satisfy my taste buds but the service is not good and sometimes it's really loud. Hard to have a conversation with your companions.

Got catfish with Mac n cheese & green beans. She got chicken pot pie. Was a carry out. Service was faster than most places. Food was great A definite do over. Only issue was the traffic. Not for the faint of heart

Since I moved to the south, I've heard great things about Cheddars. Tried them last night and I must say I was very impressed! The look and feel of the place is very sultry and seductive with low lighting and stylish ceiling fans. The bathrooms were immaculate and the wait staff very friendly and helpful. The food... Omg the food was amazing! I had the baby back ribs mashed potatoes and broccoli with the honey butter croissants... Delicious! We didn't wait long at all and our server checked on us frequently and refilled our glasses ( free refills at that) promptly. I ordered a mixed drink which was huge, but for the size I expected at least a little buzz, especially since More recently I've become more of a social drinker. That's the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars, they're obviously a little selfish "spiritually".

Got steak, seasoned to perfection. Most restaurants don't even bother with corn, there buttered off-the-cob corn was excellent. And the broccoli casserole reminds me of my mom's. So yummy.

This place is the ideal casual gathering spot to hang out with friends. We waited for our table 25 long minutes at the bar. We tried their version of 'Painkiller' (a drink originally from the British Virgin Islands). It was pretty good except for it won't kill the pain of a diabetic coma. Even your fingers will feel very sticky from handling the glass. Food - Above the average American restaurant in Greenville. Service - Prompt, efficient, friendly. Our server Latrese, was excellent. Ambience - Interesting and very busy. Lots of staff always walking around. Alcoholic drinks - Not too pricey but I'd rather stick to beer. Overall a good experience.

Suffice it to say that every Cheddars I've been to, in various locations and states, are ALWAYS busy. Always. That's a testament to how good they are. Now, the longest I've ever had to wait (anywhere) is 30 minutes, and I know I'm going to be waiting before I go. That said, once seated, food and service are usually stellar give or take a couple times where the food comes out a little lukewarm instead of made-to-order piping hot. This location was no different. Service was standard, not stellar, but enough to tip the usual 15%. Appetizers came out and were exemplary (spinach dip, chips n salsa, crossaint rolls). Our entrees were lukewarm, and if I weren't starving I would have sent it back to be warmed. The painkiller is my fav drink and I always max out the "limit". If I have had less than stellar service, guaranteed the pain killer will make me forget all about it. :) Cheddars is always worth the wait and highly recommended.

Scratch kitchen. Food fresh. Lots of comfort food very reasonably priced. Nice ambiance. Giant fish tank over bar. Love it. Good salads. Friendly servers.

I keep trying this restaurant but it Just keeps going downhill, the ambiance is great, I love the decor but my god the food is terrible and the service makes me feel like they really don't care to be there! The last time I was there I had the ribs and there was Brown spots on it, I won't be back; (

The food was okay. I sat at the bar with a friend of mine and the bartender Jen was a total rude woman. She kept ignoring us just to make drinks for the waiters. After 5 minutes of sitting there we were actually acknowledged. I had a burger which was cooked wrong, yet still good. I asked for an extra croissant because I dropped mine, but was charged for it. The manager came to just check in and she saved our experience. She was blond and was just a nice person. I probably won't be back soon.

Lunch at Cheddar's on Valentine's Day and surprise we did not have to wait. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. I would recommend it although it is not very spicy. I will say that on this particular visit, our waitress was struggling. Beside our table, she had a group of about 10 next to us. She could not make them happy, and as a result we got neglected. She apologized to us and confided that it was her 2nd day on the job. I will say that this Greenville Cheddar's is almost impossible to get to because the location is on Woodruff Road which is at an almost constant state of gridlock. if you are going, leave early.

It was the best service my girlfriend and i have had in awhile, this was our first time coming to Cheddars and our server, Kennedy, did a great job. We didn't have to ask for refills throughout our whole meal and i'm sure we were trouble with all of the questions we asked about the menu, she suggested the Catfish, which my girlfriend ended up loving. I definitely plan on coming back to Cheddars because of the great food and service, but i will always ask to sit in her section!

UPDATE: 140128 Iama Critic Rating - Cheddar's Casual Cafe - 3 Stars 1025 Woodruff Road, Greenville, SC Overall: Still the best onion rings ever! This trip we tried their more unique items, but sadly Cheddar's wasn't quite up to it's prior 4 star rating! $3.99 Potato Soup - 3 Stars This soup comes with cheese and some crackers. It had a nice flavor but needed something. This is when a restaurant really needs to provide a great pepper grinder. Sadly Cheddar's does not provide good chunky pepper. Also the price was too high by a buck for such a small bowl. $4.99 Spinach Dip & Chips - 4 Stars The dip itself is supremo great and my guest loved the thin light chips. I myself find thin chips frustrating. However this appetizer is wonderful especially for $5. $8.99 Cajun Spiced Tilapia - 2 Stars Sadly the entree looks like its missing something. The smallish 10" plate is 30% empty and the fish, although tasty, is VERY small. Chef Iama Critic calls fish this small "Bait"! I mean seriously the fish was only 5 shrimp long! And the mashed potatoes really could use some course ground pepper, which Cheddar's does not provide. This entree really needed a small portion of veggies and a "real" fillet of Tilapia! $7.99 BBQ Chicken Salad -3 Stars One of my frequent guests has been ordering salads recently and this salad looked like it had lots of potential. The dressing was great as well as the greens and bacon. But what the heck is all that stringy fried onion rings stuff. And this salad was supposed to be BBQ chicken. But the chicken was served freezing cold, right out of the fridge and drizzled with sauce. BBQ sauce on cold chicken does not make BBQ'd chicken my friends! And wow, they sure do value their chicken because Cheddar's must make 6 salads out of two chicken breasts! Too much fried onion rings, too little chicken! And cold chicken means NOT FRESH! $7.29 Philly Cheese-Steak - 4 Stars This spartan looking sandwich with more of those mashed potatoes that really need some spices, or cheese, or chives, or something to make them not so boring! And what is with all the open spaces on some or these Cheddar's entrees. If you have an entree that only fills 75% of the plate then that means you need to put something there, like a little bowl of Au jus or a veggy or two. Don't just serve your entree with big open spaces of white porcelain for us to look at, it makes your entree look meager and cheap. (Chef School 101) However my guest really enjoyed the flavor of the sandwich and raved about the meat. And the price is very reasonable as well. $9.99 New Orleans Pasta - 4 Stars This pasta comes with shrimp and sausage. The flavor of this entree alone made the trip to Cheddar's worthwhile. Creamy, spicy, and delicious, all it need to be perfect was, more sasauge and a bigger bowl. One of the cheaper New Orleans pasts we have had, and yet one of the best. Final Thoughts: Our second trip to Cheddar's was not quite as impressive as our first 4 star experience. But we specifically ordered their more unique items. However the New Orleans pasta, the Philly Cheese-Steak sandwich and the onion rings were real standouts. And Cheddar's prices were still reasonable. We have no doubt Cheddar's can provide 4 star food on any given night, and they were close on the night we went. And don't forget to order those $4.00 5 Star onion rings.

As a first time visitor, I was disappointed. I ordered 1/2 rack of rib with two sides. Ribs were small and over cooked. Side dishes were small and served cold. The resturant was not very clean either. Unfortunate for Cheddars, they have lost a customer.

  • Tameka A.

Great service! I suggest the nachos - cheesy and meaty as well as the quesadilla as appetizers. Ribs are good too. If Wayne is still working, ask for him. He's the best!!!

Don't know about anything else. Walked in, got seated pretty quickly, and that was it. Waited 15 minutes and NOBODY checked on us. About 10 waitstaff walked by us and did not even look at us. We walked out and there was not even a hostess at the front. We waited a long time to try this place, but they will now never get any of my business. Their loss. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

  • Esther J. L.

Waited 45 minutes when we were told we'd be seated in 20-25. Server didn't come for 11min and we had to request a server. Took an additional 10 minutes for the drinks to come out. Took 12 minutes before we got a refill on our chips. It has been 32 minutes and we still have not received our entrees. Food is mediocre. I'd rather eat next door at a similar restaurant. Price is cheaper but not worth the wait. Manager obviously does not know how to handle the quality of service at this restaurant and by seeing previous reviews, seems like this is a common issue. Just spoke to the manager and he's just filled with excuses.

I ordered the chicken and shrimp, and my food was very good. Our service was ok, it was a little slow. What prevented me from giving 4 stars was the fact that my husband never received part of his meal. He ordered the monte cristo wrap with raspberry sauce. The waitress brought it out and said that the sauce would be out in a minute. After sitting there for almost 5 minutes without eating while everyone else did, she said it would be a while because the kitchen is really backed up. After sitting there a while longer , I ended up giving my husband half of my meal. After another several minutes she came back and said she would check on the sauce again. After several more minutes she came back and said sorry we're out. At this point, my husband's meal was no longer desirable. There was no compensation offered, no discount on the meal, and nothing else was offered. My husband would not have ordered that had he known there was no sauce. Overall, I think that they could have done a better job.

Hostess rude, servers rude, food was mediocre for the price. Sufficed to say I have no plans on returning. I think they need to clean house and start over.

The true test of a restaurant is how they handle the Friday night rush. Cheddar's failed. Drinks were not only slow, the second set never made it out. I had to ask the server the problem. Apparently they ran out of mix and the bar was short staffed. These things are forgivable if communicated and apologized for by management. I don't HAVE to have a discount. I can understand a rough night. However, when I have to inquire and no management can be seen coming forth to offer an apology, I get a bit irritated. Won't be coming back. It's a shame though, the food was good and reasonably priced.

Cheddars is quickly becoming one of our standard stops when we're in that part of town. Yesterday, I had their jalapeno cheese burger that was incredible. Their fries are delicious and the coleslaw I had with it was terrific. My wife said her steak was very tender and very tasty. Service was great - very friendly and professional.

This place is reasonably priced. And other than the frequent wrong or messed up order, the food is acceptable. I am actually quite partial to the Grown Up Grilled Cheese. However, the food has never been my problem. My problem from day 2 has always been the service. Every visit (except for my very first) has been less than stellar... Far less. But this most recent visit ticked me off. It began when the hostess sat us. I almost felt bad because I was intruding upon her personal time. Why did I think this? Because when she sat us, she was in the middle of a conversation with the other hostesses. When I handed over my signaling device, I had to wait for them to finish and decide which would have the displeasure of seating us. When we arrived at our table, she threw the menus and silverware on the table at the same time that she was turning to walk away. She did at least say, "Enjoy" between chews of her smacking gum. It took nearly 10 minutes for the waiter to take our drink order. 10 more minutes before he brought our drinks. Then another 25 minutes before we received our food. The drinks were only refilled when I physically searched out the waiter to have him refill, or just walked to the bar and had them do it. You may ask, "if I don't like this restaurant, then why do I keep coming back?" Not my choice. Sometimes, it's with a group of friends. Sometimes it's an insistent family gathering, or my wife is having a Grown-Up Grilled Cheese craving. While I'm here I typically only observe. I stopped trying to have an enjoyable meal at this place long ago. I'm sure you wonder why I said "Day 2". To briefly explain. It was within the first week the restaurant was open. We had a very good waitress and the food was very good. But ever subsequent visit has been incrementally worse. If service is one of your peeve list bullet points, then you will definitely want to steer clear of this place. But if you don't care if the service is God-Awful then try it out. Good luck.

Worst restaurant experience EVER tonight at Cheddars on Woodruff Rd. in Greenville SC. Took the grandgirls and my daughter for an early dinner ... our food arrived, and my daughter's buffalo chicken wrap was made with slaw, after she specifically asked for the slaw to be left off. The waiter took it back, with apologies. We had to ask a second time for my granddaughter's side salad, but at this point, all seemed well. Fast forward one hour: the grandgirls and I have eaten and placed our napkins on the table, and there's still no buffalo chicken wrap. The waiter seems flustered, and barely acknowledges us as he passes, again and again. I asked to speak to a manager, and the young lady that appeared (after a LONG wait) told me that it was "the least" that she could do to remove the charge for my daughter's dinner from our tab. I thought she could have done much more at that point. But as my granddaughter says, "Whatevs." The waiter came with our check, and the charge for my daughter's dinner was still there. In hindsight, this is where we should have just walked out. Grrrrr. I requested another manager ... meanwhile, the sweet guy who was busing our table wouldn't stop apologizing for our experience. A to-go box with my daughter's chicken wrap was delivered to the table ... just a pitiful-looking wrap, no fries. Finally, an older male manager appeared, acted horrified at our experience, sent the to-go box back for fries to be added ... and removed $7.99 from our bill. *woot* We ordered our dinner at 5:30 pm. The grandgirls and I got our food at 5:45 pm. At 6:30 pm, we were still sitting there, waiting on a dang chicken wrap with no slaw, at this point in a To Go box. I know what good customer service looks like, and I am completely underwhelmed. my 7-year-old granddaughter said, "If anyone ever says they want to eat at Cheddar ... I will stop them before they add the *s* to the end!"

I love this place. I've been to Cheddars a few times now and I've never had a bad experience. The interior is lovely, and so large that there is never a very long wait for a table. The food is kind of pub style, but always good. I love their buffalo chicken wraps!

Good eats. Very reasonable. DeWayne was our server and was very accommodating. Big buttery crescents well worth getting. Yummy!!

My wife and I ate at Cheddars and thought it was pretty good. She had the honey dijon chicken and it was 2 full chicken breasts along with 2 sides for $9 and I had the Chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles were both quite good, but they came out at room temperature, which is fairly amazing because both dishes came out with in 5 minutes of us ordering them. Service was quite good as the server had everything we needed including drink refills, more napkins and hot sauce in seconds. Prices are definitely lower than most chain restaurants by a dollar or two per entree. Food is okay, not great. But we would go back again.

Went on a Sunday evening with a buddy as things were heating up with the post-church dinner crowd. It was crowded to the point of almost not being able to find parking. As I walked in, I saw quite a few people waiting to be seated. I was afraid we were going to have to wait a bit to get crackin', but the hostess sat us right down and we were off. Even with the excessive crowding, we had drinks within 5 minutes of sitting. Our server was friendly and attentive, and I watched some of the other tables who seem to be equally cared for. I got a steak (ribeye), and it was GOOD. Ordered medium, it came out medium (unheard of right?). I would put this steak up against any other one I've gotten in Greenville from a typical steak "chain." Potato was good, broccoli was...well, broccoli. My buddy got the chicken tenders. They were hand battered, huge, and reportedly delicious. I liked the decor as well, including the large fan system in the main dining area, the stained wood walls, and the large fish tank. Overall, I was VERY pleased with my inaugural voyage to Cheddar's. Great staff, great food, great place. I will be visiting again very soon.

Best Feature: Great food at great prices. Worst feature: Small waiting area. Chedder's is a shining example of what a casual restaurant should be like. The staff appeared to all be friendly and attentive, the food and drink were some of the best in town, and everything seemed to be running smoothly with a short wait to be seated and served. Even the decor of this place is inviting and exceptional. Our cheese fries were absolutely delicious and I got a half pound burger and a side for about $7. The seats were soft, the place was quiet enough for me, and all-in-all I was so impressed that I had to call the manager over to thank him for running such a wonderful pllace near where I live and to beg him to never ever change a thing. It may sound crazy to you if you follow my reviews, but I can't really think of any criticism for Chedder's other than the small waiting area and the only bathrooms being in the bar area, but even that's nitpicking. If you're in the area you owe it to yourself to give Chedder's a try.

I purchased the shrimp & chicken. My chicken was pink on the inside & had to speak with the manager twice regarding the reduction if my ticket. They are usually good, but tonight, not so much...busy maybe...?

Exceptional food at a great price, but the service is always extremely poor! Make sure you have plenty of time and patience if you are going to eat here. We sat at the bar, I asked the bartender how he was doing today and he replied "I'm here".

  • Matthew R.

This is the second time here, first time wait for seating was out into the parking lot so we sat the bar, full menu, great service , fair pricing . Second time, hit it before the rush and sat right down . Comfortable booth , waiter was good and food was great, went with classic chicken pot pie, flavorful and a full crispy crust upper and lower. This will be a go-to dinner choice for ALOT of people as word of mouth continues.

I went to Cheddar's for a business lunch earlier this week. We don't have a Cheddar's in St. Louis, but I have always had good food anytime I have been to Cheddar's in other cities, so I was looking forward to eating here. I went for a business lunch this time. Had the parmesan crusted steak with the iceberg wedge salad off the light menu. The steak was on the tough side, but had a good flavor. Not amazing, but good. The wedge salad was ok, but some of the lettuce wasn't of the best quality. Service was good, not great, but good enough to serve our purpose. I love their cookie dessert, but since I was on a business lunch I behaved this time around. I highly recommend getting that. Also, in my experience with Cheddar's in general, I feel they do a better job with their sandwiches than with steak, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I've never been to it before & never heard of it until I saw a sign off the side of the road in GA saying that they were building one.So while we were in Greenville we wanted to try it and see what would be coming to GA. Got the triple treat sampler since we didn't want to eat a full meal. Had the potato skins [very crispy & good], the cheese sticks [comes with a spicy marinara sauce, good] & Nachos [huge chips & loaded with everything]. Also had drinks. Try the Cheddar's Painkiller [you are limited to only 2 per guest]. It will cure anything that ails you :-) Can't wait till this opens in GA so I can try the Grown up Grilled Cheese.

Great food, great atmosphere, great prices! I suggest the buffalo chicken wraps and strawberry lemonade. The chef visited our table and said the salmon is one of his top three, so that will be my next choice!

Just after lunch time, during the week is usually my preferred time to grab a bite from Cheddar's. The scene can grow from just a few folks to packed at any time of day...but I opine that the long wait times, save holiday's and that occasional anomalous day, are less frequent now that the honeymoon is over. The food, in terms of preparation, consistency, taste, smell, & temp, is qualitative of Texas Roadhouse and portions are hearty. Folk's tastebuds are more tolerant than others, but I'd stay the food is above the Applebees/TGIF/Olive Garden/Insert Trendy Restaurant Circa 1999 chains. Fish, cow, chicken, veggie; the menu will present you with the options to chose from, aaaaaand the prices are spectacular - 2 can eat for around $20 bucks. But if you asked me, "Me, what's Cheddar's magnet?" I'd have to say Cheddar's magnet is their is the setting and layout of the space. Greenville knows much ado about good tasting food, and even above the great prices it's the atmosphere that wins me over.

Grilled Cheese potroast sandwich and red beans and rice on the side. The Grilled cheese with potroast was AMAZING. Very busy at lunch. So busy there is a wait for a table on a week day. My wife had the fried fish tacos. They were okay but not memorable. Our server told her she would get a fresh croissant with her salad but then never bothered to bring it. Food gets 3 stars. The wait with mediocre service gets 2 stars. We're not planning to go back.

Great ambiance! Superior service from all the ladies! Idiot male server needs to improve - asked if he could get my server to stop by our table and he was oblivious and stated there were too many folks on staff to know which one was ours! Get real. Are you that dumb?

I have been here twice, both times for lunch. It gets very busy very quickly, so arrive early if you don't want to wait for a table...:) First time, I was meeting someone. I arrived first and was seated immediately. YAY!! Our server came by and took my drink order and then asked if I wanted to place my lunch order. I told her I was waiting for my friend and to come back when she arrived. I had the Philly cheesesteak...delicious!! My friend had the Wasabi appetizer which she also said was very good. For the first time. it was an OK experience. The second time was right after Christmas...again packed to the gills. We decided to eat at the bar. There were 3 of us...we got waited on immediately. Our appetizers came out promptly and were hot and delicious. My hamburger was cooked a little too well done for my taste, but it was good. The others in my party had the salmon and the cheesesteak. They both raved about their meals. I think one the "hoopla" wears off, this will be a welcome addition to Greenville's restaurant base. I enjoyed myself...the food was good and the service was as well.

Reasonable priced meals. My favorites are the chicken & waffles entre' and the quesadilla appetizer. Texas Sweet Tea is my alcoholic beverage of choice and it's only $3.50...can't beat that!

Pretty underwhelmed. Came here for a birthday dinner when we found Fatz had closed. We sat immediately, and a waitress started to get drinks orders, but left without getting the order for our youngest. Waited a good ten minutes to get a food order taken, and a further 30+ for food to come. Even drinks took a long to come, and we were told they had run out of clean glasses, so had to use styrofoam. Food was merely warm when it came out, and was not anything spectacular.

  • Kitty K.

Cheddar's has consistently good food & drinks at great prices. They cook the fish just right and not too overdone. There is a nice range of choices, from healthy options to good 'ol fried comfort food. You can't beat a $3.50 margarita! Note that on Friday and Saturday evenings, there is often a long wait outside, and they do not take reservations.

This was the first time I have ever been to this place . I sat down thinking this place looks really nice.. I got the menu and noticed the menu has way too much on it... service was good but the waiter didnt explain the jumbled menu or talk about some highlighted items which were im assuming the popular dishes..my meal was short of average ... It was wayyyy over seasoned . I did notice that they had an amazing piece of art or fan hanging from the ceiling yet there were webs on it ... overall this is just another chain restaurant

  • Gil S.

NOT a great experience. NOT as good as the previous visit. Onion ring appetizer was served 30 seconds before dinner entrees were served. Ordered a plain burger, was served with mustard. Asked to have problem corrected, I believe they dropped the burger into a fryolater to remove the mustard- along with all seasonings. Service was lackluster, with no checkback or concern expressed over meal pacing. Overall, not a great visit. Although this location is doing great business, based on overall tab, service and taste we won't be back anytime soon.

Awful. Tuesday night and there was an hour wait. Went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and our server Kendra was absolutely awful. We waited forever to put our dinner order in. We made the assumption that since it is a corporate restaurant that there would be adequately trained servers who were familiar with the menu. We asked what she could recommend and her response was "everything". When we asked her specifically what she likes her response this time was "well I've never eaten anything on the menu". STRIKE ONE Our appetizers come out and the onion rings were ICE COLD. No server in sight to ask for a new one. We had to flag a server from another section down to return the onion rings. Dinner arrived cold as well. Again, no server in sight. Empty water glasses - server never came by to check on us. STRIKE TWO. We asked for a manager who seemed to have a scripted response. It seems that there have been several complaints that they are now used to people complaining. We had two choices - have the food remade which would mean we would probably have to wait another hour (seeing as everything else was taking forever) or have it taken off our check and we could go. Great options. Not. The sad thing is that the food tasted pretty good but the temperature was off - the service was awful. There was no excuse for the food being cold - both the appetizers and main course? I was extremely embarrassed that we went to celebrate a good friend's birthday and it turned out so awful. The last straw for me was when I asked for the bill. The server finally made an appearance only to give us the biggest attitude. She LOUDLY argued with me in front of other guests that "it's not my fault the food took forever! I am running two six-tops!!!" She pointed her finger at me and poked my breast. She claimed to have seven years serving experience. Anyone with service experience knows that two six tops seated right next to each other is CAKE. They need to get their act together. Get some professional service staff that know how to handle things. At least pacify customers if the food is taking a long time. I am surprised that Cheddars corporate didn't have managers from other locations help "open" the store and get them moving with good service. So far this place has received an extremely poor reputation.

This is the second time (out of two) that the service has been terrible. Today my friend and I went there for lunch. Even though we ordered the exact same thing they brought me the wrong order: fried fish instead of grilled. The waiter said, "Are you SURE?" when I said I didn't ask for fried fish. Since I had said i wanted the same thing, why wouldn't mine be grilled, like his? No apology. By the time my food finally came, my friend had been done eating for a while, and it was nearly an hour since I'd arrived. When the waiter asked if we wanted a dessert I said it would be nice if they'd comp a dessert since my order was wrong, and he said he couldn't do that. Well, alrighty. I guess I won't be back, then.

Food was good and prices were right. Better food than Applebees and cheaper too! Food came out fast.

The service was bad. Had to wait about 45 min. to get a table. The Homemade Onion Rings Appetizer was good. Their burgers are bad and the french fries were cold. The Chicken fried steak was hard tough and could not eat. The Baby Back Ribs was fair.

I visited Greenville for the Masters World Championships in the Scottish Highland Games this past Memorial Day Weekend. On Sunday night after the Games were over I went to this restaurant for a late dinner. I ate in the bar. I had decaf coffee, their "triple threat" bar starter plate and the gigantic cookie/ice cream dessert. As I was eating, I noticed that the chicken breasts in the "triple threat" plate seemed a little bit too wet, but I ate them anyway. They were certainly hot enough to have killed any live bacteria, so I felt OK about it. The next morning I got up at 3:30 AM to drive to Charlotte to catch a flight home. Upshot...I spent the entire day miserable from food poisoning. Oh, it was a wonderful day, sick in the car and in the back of airplanes, and throwing up in the Denver airport bathroom. Thanks a lot, Cheddars Casual Cafe. I will probably never be back in Greenville, but if I am, you can be damn sure that I will never set foot in this place again. Oh yes, one more thing. Next time you wipe down the tables in the bar, use a little bit of soap to get the grease off of the table. It bothers customers when their arms stick to the table top.

I went there after church with my girlfriend. After a 30 min wait to be seated we ordered an appetizer with two entrees. The Potato skins were good.. we waited close to another 30 minutes before our food arrived. When our food arrived the waiter advised me that the kitchen was out of gravy for my country fried steak. He asked if I wanted anything else and advised me that if I did it would be another 20-30 min before it arrived. I said no that I would eat the sides but that I wasn't happy. I was never visited by a manager, I was charged full price for the meal that I didn't eat. I later left feedback on their website in hopes to be contacted in regards to the bad experience and that was 3 weeks ago. I will not eat there again.

I feel confident I won't be back. After asking the waitress for some recommendations, she pretty much said the entire menu but made a point to say how good the Philly cheese steak is and how the steaks, other than the Ribeye, are bad. So I ordered the cheese steak and it was below average at best. I was expecting provolone and it was white American slices. Who does that? Cheddar's does. Others in our party ordered the pot roast, the world class chicken sandwich, the club, and an app or chips and queso. All were underwhelming, but that's to be expected with prices as cheap as they are. Pay a few bucks more and go somewhere else to get a better dining experience.

So this is night two in South Carolina and I'm not sure what the heck I expected but thanks to corporate America I am becoming less and less surprises at the familiarity of it all. Last nights bomb had me really desperate for something unfamiliar and decent and moreover distinctly South Carolinian, I happened upon cheddars. Oh how yummily surprised I was! My cute waitress said try the stuff in the yellow "those are our specialties." I had the broccoli casserole at her recommendation as one of my sides and I has sweet baby carrots. The carrots did the job but was nothing special the casserole however had me devouring the entire side quickly. The entree a reasonably priced 12.99 was a combination half rack of baby back ribs and three huge chicken tenders. The meal was da bomb. Juice tenders perfectly breaded accompanied by juicy falling off the bone ribs in a sweet an tangy sauce. I even let her talk me into a key lime pie shot. A little tart and a tasty finish.

Visiting family in Greenville and they took us to Cheddars. What at treat. We got there early on Saturday evening and had about a 15 minute wait. There were four of us and we ordered onion rings for an appetizer. A huge platter of perfectly cooked onion rings was brought to our table with two sauces for dipping. We did not finish them before our entrees were brought. The entrees are large... I ordered lemon chicken with seasoned rice and two sides. I choose green beans and a house salad. (Other choices for the sides were loaded baked potato, steamed broccoli, rice, buttered corn, baby carrots, coleslaw, french fries, mashed potatoes, red beans and rice and broccoli cheese casserole.) The salad came with a large Croissant roll with sweet butter dripping on it. Probably the best I have ever eaten. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the rice was very good as was the green beans. Others in the party loved the chicken fried steak, philly cheese sandwich and bacon, cheese hamburger. Everyone said they loved their meal. None of us could finish their meal and all of us asked for boxes to take home. We ordered iced tea as drinks and the waitress brought us refills without asking if we wanted a refill. I asked for the check and was shocked when I saw the total was $40.13, plus tax for everything. A low price for an appetizer for four four entrees and 4 drinks.... And best of all, the service was great... Friendly waitress and always available.. When we left, we noticed that there were people waiting everywhere indoors and outdoors for a table and one group said they were told the wait would be about 1/2 hour, but they thought it would be worth the wait... The next day we enjoyed the leftovers for lunch.... Cant wait for Cheddars to open in Southern California....

We had never heard of Cheddar's before. Traveling through Greenville from Wisconsin. There are 6 in our family, 4 kids. We all enjoyed the food very much. Prices are very reasonable. Serving sizes are appropriate. Menu has lots of choices. Atmosphere is great. Staff is friendly. We'll be back!!

Food is average. Often not warm. Menu selection is huge.....but probably should focus on doing a few things well instead of having a hundred items to microwave. But its inexpensive so we keep coming back. Tonight the service in the bar was poor. So, I have made my last visit to Cheddars.

Will never go in this place again as they told a registered service dog to leave. That is against the law! Beware of this place!

Excellent service and pricing. Bourbon glazed salmon was awesome and under $10. The spasgna had great flavor but too many onions for my liking. We came in on sat night at 7pm and there was 1.5 hr wait. Instead we grabbed a spot at the bar and ate dinner. the bar staff was great considering they were extremely busy. 1st time eating here and won't be our last.

The food was decidedly average and the service was incredibly slow. It was 15 minutes before we received a menu. Another 30 minutes to cook two hamburgers and a further 3 minutes to get cutlery once served. All in all a long wait for food that I could have gotten at a fast food burger joint. I understand that it was the day after Christmas, but get some staff that want to be there or don't bother opening up.

You stink for not letting a service dog in the restaurant! I hope that you get fined for that!
