Great stop off of 95. They were out of vinegar sauce, or I would give them five stars. Has a chain-restaurant feel, food was excellent although a bit expensive. Onion tangles were especially good.

As the previous reviews said, totally average and subpar if I lived nearby, but in terms of road food for driving down 95....five stars. Way better than mcdonalds or Taco Bell or subway or whatever. I would put it in the top 5% of road trip food that I've had, but in the bottom 10% of BBQ. (I will add being from Virginia, and spending lots of time in Texas & Louisiana, my BBQ standards are higher than most). I thank other yelpers for steering me to the coleslaw, it was def the highlight of my meal. Not memorable, but I would absolutely stop there again while driving along 95.

We came in on a weekday around dinner time and almost turned around because the restaurant was empty. But I had looked at reviews on here that said it was great so we decided to chance it. The restaurant itself is nice and clean and the people working there are very friendly but the food was just meh. I got the thursday deal of the day which was the spicy cheddar sausage, pulled pork, and a choice of two sides. I got the bbq beans and the macaroni and cheese. My husband ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs, and ham. His two sides were onion tanglers and baked potato casserole. The biggest problem we had with the food was that everything was cold. We didn't wait long to eat it but the distance from the cash register to a table apparently was long enough for the food to get quite cold. The cheddar sausage would have been better if it were warm but cold as it was, it tasted extremely greasy and just plain icky. The pork was better. I covered it in sauce they had in warmers by the soda machines so it brought it up to slightly above room temperature. The macaroni n cheese was a solid congealed mass that looked extremely unpalatable but wasn't too bad. The beans were fine. They were the warmest thing on my plate. The hockey puck of a roll was just eh. For my husband's plate, the brisket was the best. It was cold but it still tasted great. It was tender, juicy, and smokey. The ham wasn't anything impressive. Just cold smoked slices of ham about on par with the spiral sliced ham you can buy in most grocery stores. The ribs were alright though. The meat was tender, juicy and practically fell off the bones. He enjoyed both of his sides but the baked potato casserole was cold too. The onion tanglers seems like they were fresh because they were still warm when he started eating them. All in all, I don't plan on returning here. The food just wasn't good enough to warrant the almost 30 dollar bill for just two of us. It likely would have been much better if it wasn't cold but since it was... Not again.

Loved it! Great food, great value, even before the free ice cream!! We had the brisket dinner and the Saturday special (Chopped brisket sandwich and 2 sides for $8.99). We will definitely stop here again on the next road trip.

I wrote a very scathing review and I stand behind it as it was my true experience, but I have to give credit where credit is due. I have been contacted by 2 different managers, Randy and Shonda. They were very apologetic and willing to do what was necessary to make it right. I will give Dickeys another visit and change my rating of my experience improves because I appreciate the effort made these 2 managers.

Food was delicious! My husband and I both got the 2 meat plate, pulled pork and brisket. The pulled pork was juicy and tender the brisket was perfectly smoked. The sides were a little on the spicy side but if you like spice the flavoring was very good. The free ice cream was a nice touch to go with delicious warm apple cobbler. I would come back.

Wonderful surprise to find this quality of food at an interstate interchange. Good service and three kinds of BBQ sauce. Each item we tried was delicious. Great find!

Very unfriendly service. The staff didn't smile and looked like they were having a bad day. We had to ask for rolls that should have came with our meals. The rib serving was only 3 ribs, and the meat had fallen off one. It was highly overpriced for the portion ($24 for 1 quarter plate and 1 2-meat plate). The ice cream (free) was poor quality (mix?) and the cones were stale. The mac & cheese was a solid glob. The bathroom trash can was far away from the door so employees would contaminate their hands when exiting. The 1 star rating is for the excellent rolls and the pork wasn't too bad either. However, I would never ever go again.

We stopped at Dickeys on a road trip to NYC from Florida. The food was really excellent. We had the brisket which was some if the best I've had and the pulled pork. We also had the cole slaw, beans, Mac and cheese and fried onions. All were fresh and tasty. Definitely a step above road food. Would go back again for sure.

Great stop in Florence! Was hesitant to stop here based on a visit to our local Dickey's in VA but this Florence restaurant was awesome! My husband and I had the Friday special plate and our son had the pulled pork sandwich. Servings are huge, meat is tender and sides are delicious. Best fried okra I've had at a BBQ place. Both the Brunswick stew and Stampede stew are recommended. The variety of sauces please all palates. A free soft serve cone or root beer float at the end is a nice touch! Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Staff was pleasant and appreciated our compliments on their delicious BBQ. If you are hungry for good BBQ in Florence right off 95...Dickeys is a great choice.

I really like this place. The ambiance is nice, definitely nicer than other fast-food restaurants (even nicer than other Dickey's).The food is excellent. Brisket is tender. My favorites are the ribs, brisket, loaded baked potato, spicy cheddar sausage, tanglers, and green beans. I live in NC and regularly eat at the NC Dickey's (Raleigh, Durham, and Greensboro/High Point, NC). However, the Dickey's in Florence is my favorite.

Great fast food bbq. Very fast, very good. Choice of 6 sauces from heated containers and free soft serve ice cream for all. Mac and cheese and fries were awesome.

I did not even eat after seeing 1lb of brisket for $12 bucks....$12 bucks!!! And pretty much everything else was a bit pricey, staff was friendly and the place was clean but all the prices were way up vs other places.

Ive been to Dickey's 6 times. When Dickey's first opened the brisket was tender and juicy , cooked just right. The last 3 times Ive been the brisket was over cooked, making the brisket dry and to smokey flavored. Dickey's needs to get back to the quality had when they first opened.

Great stop on the way through SC on the way south. Tasty BBQ, fast service. Nice break from traditional fast food fare.

Loved this place. I'm a bonafide Yankee and my husband is a legit Yankee so maybe we don't know our BBQ. That being said, we loved the sandwiches and sides here. Only fail was the cup didn't fit in our cup holder which promoted my husband to comment about how his dickies won't fit.

Wow....Tea had that awful taste like the plastic container it was made it hadn't been cleaned properly in months. Potato Salad tasted spoiled as well as the Cole Slaw. Root Beer out on Soda Fountain. Only thing good was the Pulled Pork. Waited several minutes before employee (s) decided to take our order....not sure why? Would not return again....

Pork good and tender, but not a ton of smoke flavor. Brisket was surprisingly good flavored and moist with the little bark. Neither sausage was any good. original sauce was the best sweet was too sweet. Coleslaw and green beans were very good. Free soft ice cream. For sure worth a return.

Thoroughly satisfying and convenient. We stopped by on a road trip from NJ to Orlando to fill our BBQ craving, and Dickeys delivered. Best BBQ in the south? Not really, but you could easily do a lot worse. I got pulled pork and brisket, which was smokey and tasty. The pork was the moister of the two, so that was the one I preferred of the two. Coleslaw was amazing, fresh and cool tasting. Other sides were good but not outstanding. There's free ice cream in the dining room, but it's ok at best. Free is free, so I had a cone to finish up my meal. Overall a very pleasant meal served by friendly staff and a clean dining room. I would definitely stop back again.

This is an awesome-eats experience! I just arrived to town from NYC en route to Florida, and wanted me some good Southern BBQ! This place is right off 95 and a few doors down from my hotel. The inside is clean and very comfortable. The food was excellent. I had cheddar sausage, pulled pork and beef brisket with baked beans and onion strings. It also came with a warm roll. The onion strings were somewhat too salty, and the portions could have been a little more generous. They keep the sauces warm in heated pots, free soda fountain refills in a reusable plastic cup, and FREE self-serve soft-serve ice cream--as much as you want! Three of us had complete dinners for $30. Definitely a great, mighty tasty deal! I will definitely return for more Southern cooking and hospitality! Everyone who worked here was categorically friendly and hospitable.

Best Texas style BBQ in Florence. The brisket and sausage were excellent. Don't miss free ice cream with every dine in meal for free!
