Jersey boy relocated down here and was looking for something close to home cooking. Some previous reviews gave really bad stars for the service, but I usually order out, so I can't speak to that. Pizza was the closest thing I've had in Columbia that comes close to NJ/NY pizza. Their entrees are good too. Manicotti, Lasagna, all good portions and comes with a side salad (which is decent) and rolls. Probably the most surprising thing was the wings. Great BBQ/hot wings. My wife and I usually get an order of each and mix them because we like spicy bbq. Overall great place, will continue to order from here. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Absolutely pathetic. My roommate and I just moved to this side of town and have seen the signs for Schiano's several times and really wanted to try it. We were both VERY disappointing. He had a personal pizza with pepperoni and sausage. It was crispy but nothing to write home about. I had the Spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce. It was just gross. I have had Walmart brand Traditional sauce with loads more flavour than whatever it was i was served at Schiano's. Also, Walmart sauce doesn't break as hard as this sauce broke. Under the pasta was totally swimming. No seasoning at all, pasta was overcooked, and had a bad after taste. The bread was decent, but rather bland. The Greek salad that came with my pasta was small, but it was very good. My only complaint is that it was swimming in dressing. Other than that the salad was very tasty. Our server, Keith, just didn't give a damn about us or himself or anything. Refused to smile, was not nice at all, had a very pointed tone. I work in a restaurant as a server, I was even in my uniform short. There is no excuse for his poor attitude. You live off tips dude, you need to smile. And at least PRETEND that you care! He took the pasta off, and charged me 5 dollars for the tiny tiny salad. Then a dollar for the bread. The full meal costs 10.95. He basically is saying that their Linguini and Meatballs with meat Sauce is only worth five dollars. And trust me. It isn't worth a dollar. I will not return.

Sorry to say I've had better. I grew up eating at this place for lunch while attending high school next door 25 years ago (YIKES). I popped through town, saw they were still there and so decided to relive the glory days!! Either my glory days weren't as glorious as I thought they were or this place has gone down hill. Not sure which. Glad to see that they're still open though and owned by the same family and have the same decor... well maybe not that last part. It's not like the food was gross or anything. It was fine. The staff was friendly too. But I was hoping for a different pizza.

The service was slow and the pizza was dripping in grease. Will not go back.

The stuffed pizza is worth a long drive and a bit of a wait. Dated interior, but great service and cheap prices.

Ordered 2 lunch specials of "Slice of pizza and Greek house salad" Salad was over dressed and lettuce was limp and bruised. Pizza was barely acceptable. Our waitress rolled her eyes when we ask to have our check adjusted rather than replace the salad. Would not go back

The server didn't pay attention to our pizza order resulting us getting things on a pizza we really didn't like but we could "pick off" not the best service due to waiting for drink refills and someone just to pay attention. Their "amazing" pizza was just ok with all the toppings it was too wet and got soggy quickly ... Can't say I want to eat here again...

Definitely not worth a second trip. Service was great. Food was just ok. Hubby had lasagna I had eggplant . We both had better from the frozen food case at Food Lion. The last straw was the spaghetti on the side. When I lifted the noodles I found water! No true Italian restaurant would ever allow that. Can I please find a good Italian restaurant???? If I were young I would open one myself. Come on Columbia you can do better!

Came in for some pizza with my girlfriend, sat down and waited for almost 20 minutes. Not a single server noticed us, and we were in plain sight. The restaurant is seat yourself, so the servers should at least be able to tell when new customers come in. Maybe if Schiano's didn't hire all 16 year old servers, we might have been able to get a bite to eat. It felt pretty crappy going to get some pizza only to be neglected like that. They already charge an arm and a leg for medium quality food, so we're just gonna look for someplace else to eat.

Ordered a large half and half pizza from them! They were happy to deliver it to my work! One of the better pizzas I've had in awhile!

Awful experience all around. Dirty tables every where while the wait staff stood around and chatted. Food was disgusting...watered down sauce which we complained about and were told that they must not have drained it properly, however no compensation was offered. Will never be back...no flavor at all.

While spending the night in Columbia after a long day at the Carolina Cup, we were too exhausted to go out to dinner. So hubby got the recommendation for Schiano's from the front desk of our hotel. The veggie pizza was absolutely delicious!!! I only had one piece, so we brought the rest home. My husband heated it in the oven last night and my mouth was watering just smelling it heat up! Thumbs up for great pizza!!!

Great NY style pizza. Crust is thin, crunchy, and tasty. Service: laid back Seating: dine in area. Price: usual pizza prices but they do have their own website with coupons every now and then. Would recommend it

Pizza seemed to have potential. Crust was pretty crispy and light the way I like it. But nothing here seemed to have any flavor. Sauce, cheese, chicken fingers, meatballs, all flavorless. :-(.

Used to have exceptional New York style pizza by the slice at a great price. Now it's only over priced whole pizza that takes forever.

  • Christine M.

I came here because I was told they had New York style pizza and originally living in the Bronx for 20 years I was ecstatic to have some New York style pizza in South Carolina! I was heart broke that it wasn't really New York style pizza it.. It was not even close. However the pizza is still pretty good just a tad too salty and believe it or not too cheesy .The service is always slow every time even with no one else there. If you do check this place out try their cheesy garlic bread it is to die for!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
